Capriccio Saratoga, sibling to Albany's renowned Cafe Capriccio, serves authentic Neapolitan cuisine including wood fired pizza (Vera Pizza Napolitana) assorted antipasti rustica, traditional regional pastas, bountiful main courses, and fabulous homemade desserts. Saratoga's most exciting new restaurant operated by Jim and Franco Rua. The Rua family restaurants have been Capital Region favorites for more than 35 years. Outdoor seating. Ideally located next to Congress Park. Already regarded as one of the area's finest restaurants, and a local favorite.
Franco and I love the cuisine of Napoli and it's people. We have visited the Campania region many times and are delighted to present Capriccio Saratoga as our tribute to Napoli, an exciting city filled with love, sunshine, great conviviality and fabulous food. Jim Rua
"We have a favorite dish & it never disappoints: the Ragu Napoliiano. It is so good we have yet to try many others but this time went for the special- halibut with tomato, lemon on a baby chard bed and asparagus, potato,...don't know how they did it; just delicious. This is why we keep coming back."

"We really enjoyed our meal. My mom, a tiny person who eats like a bird, polished off her whole giant serving of spaghetti, she enjoyed it so much. My request for a vegetarian, gluten free, meal was smoothly (and deliciously) accommodated. All around lovely meal and comfortable, attentive service."

"We had a wonderful dinner, the best dinner out in Saratoga in a long time! Appetizers ( beans and greens, eggplant dish ) were a tasty start followed by terrific entrees. (Fennel and leek ravioli - exquisite and perfectly cooked halibut with artful plating of veggies )
Wait staff was warm, welcoming and just the right amount of attentive.
This may sound overly enthusiastic but do know that the comments are sincere!"

"We felt the menu was quite limited but what we ate was great... scallop special cooked very well. The beet salad was subtle; not as good as at neighboring competing restaurants the Spaghetti with fruta-di-mare was excellent. The server forgot bread, we had to ask 3 times after she said, "I'll bring over some fresh bread" and when she cleared the salad plates she took the used silverware and didn't return with replacements. It's very loud; not great acoustically for conversation, decor is OK, nothing special but the (dusty) blown glass feature."

"Nice place, very warm atmosphere, very good service. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and portions. Only problem was a past we had, it was not very good. The pasta was over cooked and the taste was lacking, perhaps the chef forgot to put enough salt in the dish. Overall a decent experience and we will give them another try."

"Very overpriced for the quality and portion of food. It was ok but we wouldn't go back. 17 dollars for a small plate of pizza for one?!"

"Capriccio is my favorite Capital District restaurant. The wood fired shrimp appetizer is a great addition to their menu - the jalepeno/white bean/roasted red pepper puree is super tasty."

"We unexpectedly had reservations during restaurant week, which we did not know about since we were visiting. The special menu was very enticing and we ended up ordering off that. The food was delicious and plentiful, but we felt a little rushed. Wait staff was pleasant and helpful and dinner was delicious. Only negative was feeling like we were rushed."

"Capriccios is the best Italian food in the area! The service is always outstanding, very professional and courteous. My family can be difficult in restaurants (vegetarians, lactose intolerance, etc.) and they always make every accommodation with a smile. I would recommend it to anyone! Wonderful restaurant!"

"Good location; excellent food preparation and service, esp. our server, Ron who is always pleasant, helpful and professional. Love the food, but prices are a bit steep even though it is Saratoga. A $20 pasta entree could include a small salad??
But food and presentation are very good. Pleasant ambience, small but not crowded and quiet - thank you! Our group of 4 could actually hear our conversation; not generally the case in most restaurants.
I will return, but not often due to pricing."

"A friend and I met up there on a Wednesday evening and stayed for about 3 hours without any trouble. The waiter was very attentive. The food was pretty good, my friend and I both had the four cheese pizza. The place was very quiet up until about 9:00 and then started to get moderately noisy at the most. This would be a nice place for a romantic dinner, catching up with a old friend or matbe even a business dinner."

"My wife and I have dined at Capriccio several times and have not been disappointed, being a CIA grad from Hyde Park I am very picky especial Italian food (my wife cooks exceptional Italian food & red sauce) I highly recommend this restaurant for the food and wine ... enjoy it now before everyone finds it."
