Koral bar & kitchen is locally owned and operated. Located in the heart of downtown Bellevue, adjacent to the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Serving dinner seven nights a week and weekend brunch. Koral features Regional American cuisine. Koral, a "New American Kitchen" delivers a quality experience in a relaxed and accessible environment. Highlighting upscale appetizers, small plates and a full menu featuring uniques items with a plentiful selection of comfortably prepared foods. "Stayed away for a little while as was frustrated by a pretty important reservation mess up that they had but have been back a few times recently and glad I have. I like much better the seating set up now which is a bonus. Food remains great, especially the salmon special they are running! Service was good and it normally is. Not overbearing is the service and I appreciate that as I normally am having a meeting over lunch. The prices for downtown Bellevue are still incredible. Good food, good service, good location, good atmosphere at a crazy low price point is fantastic."

"Our xperience was very good. The food was tasty for a reaqsonable price. The servers were competent, but not excellent, and very friendly. They could use a bit more training. Our table was ready at the time of our reservation. Overall, a good experience and we will be back."

"Four of us went for dinner after a movie at this unexpected treasure, just off the Hyatt lobby, across the street from the crazy busy Lincoln Square. What a wonderful gem with a great menu and every choice a home run. Enough small plates to make a tapas meal, but also entrees for those with bigger appetites. The waitstaff was attentive and had an eye for detail, wine list good and reasonably priced, fun specialty drinks. Definitely liked the unpretentious tone in the otherwise "over the top" downtown Bellevue core. Will go back for certain."

"I went here pretty late, about 9pm looking for dinner. When I made reservations through open table I was looking for an actual meal. I went to the hostess stand to be seated and waited for awhile while the staff flirted near the bar.
They finally came and told me that only the bar was open. Food choices were very limited at that time of night. Poor timing on my part, but disappointing."

"This was our first experience at Koral and we found the menu quite diverse. The food itself was great, the cocktail menu had a nice unique mix, and the wine list was great as well. It was relatively quiet for a busy night, yet still with a fun amount of energy."

"We were very happy with the quality of the food. I think the atmosphere needs a little help and when I say that I mean the décor of the restaurant. The bar area is great.

"I ordered the crabcakes and was kind of disappointed that it was only one set on top of a few fries and a sauce that was too buttery. I was still hungry when we left. I don't recall the server asking how everything was either. I think its a trend to offer much smaller portions and everyone is weight conscious so its probably good but I like leftovers and one crabcake just wasn't enough."

"If you believe Yelp it may be the best spot in Bellevue. I have never found great, eclectic restaurants next to large chain hotels. It is a big venue, does not feel cozy. The menu is interesting enough (I love any place that sells marrow!) but lacks soul."

"The atmosphere was nice, spacious. Friendly staff, service was good at the start. Some point though once the entrees were wrapping up, we lost our waitress. "I took a group of 6 for a business dinner. Service started out well - they seated us at a quiet table in the back, per our request. But after that, it seemed that being in the back made us out-of-sight-out-of-mind. Without getting into details, everything took a long time -- too long. The server also did not know anything about the wines on the menu. The food appeared to be fine but it was also nothing special. None of my guests either said "wow" or complained. Me, I had a Caesar salad which was a skimpy portion but fairly good. I also had the mussels and asked for them to hold the blue cheese which they did. As this was my first time there, I'm sure I will try it again."

"My husband and I came here for a belated Valentine's dinner. We both had salads, shared the cheese curds, I had the lamb, and my husband had the butternut squash gnocchi. While our food was fine, nothing was really delicious. We were there early on a Sunday night (5:30) so that we could see a movie afterwards. We were one of maybe three tables. They told us they were out of the apple dessert which was rather annoying considering that the restaurant was basically empty. Not a horrible meal, but I won't go back."

"Open Table reservation worked well as the show ran late so we were late for our reservation. Called to let them know and it worked out fine.
Service was nice but very very slow. Dinner was just okay. Pork chops were tough, meat loaf over sauced. Nice mashed potatoes.
Fine, nothing to write home about, we will definitely go somewhere else next time."

"I was excited to try Koral based on a friend's recommendation. My first impression was great from front desk service to decor to speed of service. Our waitress was very nice, but didn't offer much depth of knowledge aside from repeating what information was on the menu. Our disappointment came with the food and drinks. There was nothing remarkable about anything we had that evening from our mixed drinks to the BBQ meatloaf and salmon special to the dessert. There was nothing wrong with the food, but it all just lacked any special or memorable flavors. The only exception was the bread which the waitress described as being like candy. She was right! Bread isn't enough to make this foodie want to return to Koral any time soon though."

"This was our first time at Koral and would go back. Tables are a little too close for me to consider this as a romantic restaurant. Food was excellent; however, I prefer to have a meal presented rather than buy a steak, buy a salad, buy a vegetable, etc. Price was very fair, just don't like piecing my meals together. One of the few places that actually got my steak as rare as I like it on the first try."

"I found this place as it was one of the few places with openings on Valentine's Day with 3 days notice. I don't think they've done enough marketing because it was fantastic! My friend is a chef, and she thoroughly appreciated the menu, and our server was friendly, knowledgable and helpful. All in all a great evening!"

"Mikel and Bradley have done a great job with Koral! Works well given the space constraint for design and flow (knowing a bit about construction and access to utilities etc.). "Although the cheese curd and mussels were excellent, the entrees were mediocre. The Gnocchi was quite literally unseasoned. It was tasteless. There was not even a hint of salt, spices, herbs or anything else. They were nice and offered a dessert as compensation. Unfortunately, that did not make up for the fact that the entree was as poorly prepared as that one was. No one tasted the food to ensure that it was seasoned properly before it left the kitchen. Nice service does not make up for faulty kitchen procedures."
