"Very Busy but it seemed they were not ready for it. No host to greet guests as they walked in. After 10 minutes, we had to ask someone if anyone was checking in the guests. Our reservation was at 7 pm, we were seated at 7:15. It seemed because our reservation was thru open table, we were seated immediately. 15 minutes to greet us at the table. The server was unfriendly and not personable. She was in a rush and didn't make any suggestions to take our order. Sangria had no wine at all - tasted like juice and no alcohol whatsoever. Yucca balls - so so. Leche de Tigre shooter was okay. Lomo pescado and Lomo saltado was bland. People that were there before us got their dinner as we were leaving, around 8:40 pm. Server apologized at the end."

"The modest appearance of the building and neighborhood belie the excellent quality of the food and service at Fusion Peruvian Grill. Our waiter was attentive and helpful in suggesting dishes, and the menu full of interesting items. The Tacu Tacu con Lomo was a standout, and the mixed calamari appetizer was also very good with the spicy dipping sauces provided. On top of everything, the prices are very reasonable. This one is a keeper."

"The food was EXCELLENT!! Extremeley favorful. Served quickly. HOwever, 2 issues arose. Dishes were cleared from two of guests, while one guest was still eating main course. Makes it very uncomfortable for guest still eating if plates are cleared away. Etiquette is to not remove plates until ALL guests have finished the meal. Second 1 of our guests was still eating her meal and the check was brought. Very rude !! Again - not supposed to happen. We were not asked if any desert was wanted either. We will go back, because the food is so very tasty, well put together, nicely presented, and tasted great!! We have recommended the restaurant to many friends. I just hope there will be improvement in proper table clearing/bill etiquette."

"I am from Peru, so this restaurant is easy to judge. Food was not cooked properly. We had 2 dishes. Pollo a la brasa. It had too much cumin. Some of it was concentrated in certain parts of the chicken. Chicken was also dry. Fries were ok. I had the Parihuela. I was really looking forward to this dish since I saw how it was prepared on youtube, but it was a huge disappointment. Very think, like a stew (it is supposed to be a soup), very tomatoey, tart. You are supposed to be able to add a touch of lime, but I didn't have to. Flavor was off compared to a good Parihuela. Some of the seafood was overcooked (chewy). The best thing that the restaurant offered were the 3 sauces you get as a courtesy (the aji amarillo, huacatay and chimichurri)"

"The location is away from the downtown area so it could be easily missed. The sangria we started with was delicious, we ended up ordering two jars total (note:the fruit is canned fruit cocktail). The three dishes we tried (Tacu Tacu a lo Mocho, saltado de pescado, Bistek a La Pobre) were all very good and flavorful. The portions are large and although the dishes are not family style it was definitely enough for all of us to sample each others. The only part of the experience that was difficult was that there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant and she did everything (orders, drinks, food service & cleaning). All the tables in the restaurant were full so the dinner took longer than expected. I would def try this rest again."

"Excellent food - astonishingly so, considering the very reasonable prices. Three of us had ceviche and several different main dishes, all with lots of seafood. Then we tried lucumba ice cream whhich was, as advertised, a lot like butterscotch, and a custard desert that I can't remember the name of - like flan. Everything we had was great and the service was very friendly. This isn't a fancy up-scale place; more a comfortable neighborhood gem."

"I found Fusion while exploring San Mateo restaurants on Open Table. I was looking for a new place to have lunch with a friend. It had excellent reviews and our lunch experience did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and helpful in explaining the menu as neither my friend nor I had experience with Peruvian food. The bread and dips that we had before our orders arrived were delicious and our orders were, too. If you dine here, you will have an excellent meal in a friendly neighborhood restaurant. Both my friend and I plan to return."
