Havana Central transports you to pre-Revolution Cuba with swanky decor, lively jazz, relaxing bar and beloved recipes. Traditional Cuban cooking is a labor of love: many dishes are slow-cooked over low heat and require constant attention to create that perfect flavor. Executive Chef Stanley Licairac has mastered the patience and style necessary to recreate old-world Cuban classics.
"Husbby and I had a delicious meal and fabulous drinks at the Havana Central at Ridge Hill. We had been there before and really enjoyed the Cuban inspired food and ambiance. Service was excellent. Will definitely reccomend and return."

"Apparently the weekday staff lacks MAJOR communication skills. This was definitely a huge difference from what I am used to on the weekends. Forks should not be tossed onto plates and surprises discussed privately should remain surprises. Will not be going back to this location for a very long time!"

"Awesome place. Empanadas were divine and our waiter was fantastic. Very friendly and attentive. I had the pulled pork (I think) and it was so rich in flavor and tangy. Verdict: Super!"

"I LOVE cuban food. The wife got a gift card recently so I was psyched to try the new place. The check-in was dis-organized. Ordered the Sampler appetizer and while some of the items were good (corn on cob) it was way over priced. For main courses we ordered the ropa vieja, shrimp mofongo, arroz con pollo and some sort of fried beef dish (along the lines of ropa vieja). None of the dishes were great - but they weren't horrible. The wife ordered a sangria - $10 for the tiniest glass. The service was very odd. There were three times we were offered someone else's meal or drink "Did you order this drink"... "Uh no" and our meal took a similar route about adjacent tables. Bill was $125 for 4 people, one wine and cokes for everyone else"

"nice ambiance, since i made reservations for 4, 2 weeks in advance and it was my birthday, I would've preferred a booth and not a cramped table by the front door, but wasn't the end of the world. Also being by front door came with not so pleasant smells...not sure if it was a baby's diaper that stunk, but we'd get a stench every so often and that wasn't enjoyable while eating at all."

"Unfortunately The food was tasteless. I ordered the skirt steak as did my son and he used ketchup for flavor and I used a ton of salt & pepper. My husband had the Pork Mofongo and it was DRY. We have eaten at the Havana Central on 17th St.(now closed) and the 116th street restaurant and the food there was always flavorful. We've tried Ridge Hill twice now and this was just as bad as the first time. Not happy having to give this kind of review, but we were very disappointed."

"I took my wife out for a date night. We usually go to the Havana Central in the city but after coming here we no longer need to make that trip. The food was excellent and authentic Cuban food. Our server did a wonderful job of catering to us. The atmosphere was very romantic, I will recommend to anyone in the area to try this place out and we will be back many times over."

"Really good food. Fantastic latin flavors all around. Have not tried any seafood dishes. Their Red Sangria was very good. Only one complaint, we ordered the Vegetarian Paella (nice assortment of vegetables) with a mix of Chicken and Chorizo. We didn't find any eggplant or squash as promised. Other that that, it was delicious."

"This was my second visit to this Havana Central. I was disappointed this time around. The food was fair and was not served at the proper temperature. My husband had to send his meal back to be warmed up. He has been to Havana Central at other locations and said that the portion sizes at this location were much smaller also. The decor of the restaurant is nice and the live music is very nice. I would go again but would like to see that the food service is better."

"The food was poor as compared to the other Havana central . Beans were watery, guava ribs were tough, should have slid off the bone and the churrasco needed better seasoning. It was Easter Sunday and the place was packed but the restaurant managemt should have expected crowds. The staff was friendly , and courteous and I hope you can make the necessary improvements in the quality of the food and I will gladly improve"

"I am gluten free and I would not recommend Havana Central to those on a gluten free diet. The hostess told me that most of the menu items could be made gluten free and then our waiter said that only a few of the salads were gluten free and the skirt steak could be gluten free. I ordered the steak and it was quite salty, along with the yellow rice. The mojito was good. Unfortunately, I will probably never go back to eat anything. But I may visit again for drinks."

"This establishment has a problem with getting the temperature of the food and order correctly. The bus boy was a better attendant than our own waiter….Also, the food is overpriced for the quality that’s offerec. The décor is lovely “Old Havana”"

"I have dined here before and the food is consistently good! What they can't seem to get right is the timing of when to being the next course-it has occurred THREE times already! We were enjoying our apps and salad and they brought the paella. HELLO there's no room on the table for more plates and its TOO SOON! I sent it back which I don't like to do, however I had to. This makes us feel as though we are being rushed off the table and on a Monday night, that's not good This is the major turnoff for me and that is why I chose to eat elsewhere more frequently. I think if a restaurant has been in business for nearly a year already that this issue is fairly easy to resolve."

"The server was very nice and knowledgeable about the food and drink menu. He was fairly attentive. The food was very good and the portions were quite large. However, the food took a long time to come to the table. The tables in the restaurant were placed uncomfortably close to each other where I couldn't help but feel as if I was having lunch with the family at the next table. I thought it was a good place to grab a lunch but not if you value your space or are short on time."

"Second time dinning at Havana Central, Ridge Hill. Enjoyed atmosphere, waiters and waitresses are very cordial, group bands playing next to bar. Being Latino, I must stress that I Love my Spanish food. Which brings me to Orders placed. I ordered the Garlic Shrimp and Chicken with white rice and red beans. Chicken breast was dry and seasoning on both chicken and shrimp was weak, beans were not hot. My ordered the Mofongo with Shrimp. While the Mofongo was ok, she was disappointed with the small Shrimps and seasoning. My son, on the other hand, enjoyed his order. Cuban sandwich with potato wedge fries. Must say sandwich was great. The first time at restaurant I had the Ropa Vieja with Mofongo. Not like Grandma's but enjoyable."

"The best thing about this restaurant was that they honored our reservation that we made through Open Table and we were seated immediately when others without a reservation had to wait an hour for a table. The food was good but it came out cold and they tried to serve us our dinner while we were still eating our appetizers. On the other hand, the bar service was so slow that we had to wait 20 minutes to be served our drinks at the table. The tables are so close together that I felt like I was eating dinner with the people on either side of us. I would not go back."

"First visit, beautiful veneu and location. However I found the combination of regular music and the band playing at the same time annoying. Focus on you staff hospitality, and knowledge of food, wines and spirits. In order to achieve unforgeatable nights."

"They were great although I made a reservation I had to wait about 10 minutes, however considering that it was Valentine's Day, I was pretty impressed that I was seated rather quickly. I like that although they had a pre fixed menu they allowed you the option to choose from the regular menu. It was a little noisy for me, but it was ok. The only thing that I really didn't care for was the seating. We were so close to other couples, it was not enough elbow room to stretch. On the bright side, the appetizers were great, the drinks were really good, the food was good, and overall my husband and I had a good time and enjoyed our night out."

"Lking forward to visiting again soon, but wanted to understandhow i could become a VIP? i spend alot of money eating out with family and groups on business, but haveconcerns about getting a table/ reservation when its somewhat short notice. Unfortunately when it comes to my business i tend to book dinners and lunches last minute and would like to use Havanah Central as a destination spot, but again when you have a tough time getting guests usually don't bother when any spot is not reliable in this regard.
A good Example was my anniversary this past friday. i spent it at Havanah, but could get dinner reservations until 4:45pm, whi i actually wanted it for 6pm or so.you build on repeat business with BRAND LOYALTY!!VIP list is needed..."

"Would I go again? Yes. Does it have the POTENTIAL to be a lot better? Absolutely. Service-waitress was great AT FIRST. Once she served us she vanished. When I found her, she was behind the counter dancing with her co-workers seemingly unaware that she even had tables to wait on-had to get up about 3 times to get service. One of the items in our meal was not what we ordered & we ended up getting replacement AT DESERT time b/c waitress just could not be found. Ambiance-lighting way too bright-entire experience would've been GREATLY improved w/dim lighting. Bar & entertainment were WONDERFUL-no complaints there. Great place to go for a few drinks & some music even w/o the food. Food was ok-not great-just ok. Meal was very dry but tasty."
