"The reason why I'm giving the Melting Pot such a poor review is because I did not eat at the Melting Pot. I made a reservation for 2 online for 5pm. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:05pm and the restaurant was not open. We waited for 5 more minutes and we went to the Keg instead. I am not willing to spend money on a restaurant that cannot even open its doors on time."

"Reservation in "Lovers' lane" was fantastic. Very romantic and secluded from the rest of the dining area. The cheese fondue (artichoke) was great, and the dessert fondue (original) was amazing. Salad was tasty and the main course was as well, but the standouts were, as they should be, the fondues. Service was excellent."

"It was a great meal. However, I was a little dissapointed that they did not give rice crispy treats with the desserts as I am from the states and I always get rice crispy treats. The portion size of the desserts was cut in half from what I receive in the United States as well. I know us Americans like to eat, but I thought since I paid a good 40 dollars extra then I do in the states that I would receive at least the same quanities. However, I still had a great experience and it was delicious and I would go back!"

"Melted cheese, seasoned broth and velvet chocolate? How does one say no to this? This was my second visit to this location and I enjoyed it even more than the first! Some of my guests commented about the food being a bit pricey, and another was not happy with the reduced wine list but I had no complaints at all. This is a treat for me and I hope to enjoy it a few times a year. It was a fun experience as we "lost" morsels of food in the dip but half the fun was doing a food rescue. :)"

"Was good food and the waitress was knowledgable, but the experience did not compare to previous experiences at the Melting Pot location in Pittsburgh. It was MUCH noisier and the atmosphere was not at all what we'd expected - We had hoped for quiet, lower lightning and the lower ceilings like the other location. Yet it was deafeningly loud at times and honestly felt more like a restauraunt two price brackets below what this one is. If you're alright with noisy, bustly and spartan, go for it. If you want something more quiet and intimate you'd be better served hitting up the Keg across the way."

"My wife and I are fondue fans and were very happy with the service and quality. We decided on a 3-course meal (we skipped the chocolate fondue dessert course). It was a leisurely dinner, our server was wonderful, she made us feel very welcome for our first time there. Everything was explained well enough that first-time fonduers would feel right at home.
We will certainly be back. We hope to see more locations soon!"

"We came for dessert to celebrate a milestone birthday, which I had casually mentioned in my reservation, so they would know we were only coming for dessert. When we arrived, we found a birthday card on the table, signed by what appeared to be the entire staff. They also put a candle and sparkler in her dippers, so we could sing happy birthday. Simple, little things, that made a terrific contribution to making it a special night.
After all this, the food was delicious. The fruit and cakes were fresh, and the fondues were rich and varied.
We will definitely return."

"Great restaurant to try something new - fondue experience. The server was very friendly and patient as he explained the menu and process to our group of twelve all through the evening. He also made excellent suggestions to allow us to sample new flavours. Based on their serving portions, they may have trouble accommodating an odd number of people.
The restaurant is huge but was well-staffed, clean and has a good ambiance. There are lots of private booths for couples. The cheese fondue dishes and chocolate fondue dishes were really good but the entrees were so-so. The four course menu is filling albeit expensive. I probably will go back again but it wouldn't be for a full dinner."

"I went here with a group of girlfriends for a birthday celebration and we had a great time. Our server was excellent, the food was delicious and for the most part it was a great experience. The reason that I'm not giving Melting Pot a perfect score is because the booth was a little crammed and the entree prices were insanely out of proportion. For the entree you get to choose a type of fondue (coq au vin, vegetable bouillon, etc.) and you have a few selections of platters of food to dip into the fondue. While the meat was good, the quantity did not deserve a $30+ price tag. I recommend you come her for the cheese fondue and the chocolate fondue (which are both reasonably priced) but skip the entree."

"We decided to try something new for our anniversary this year, and The Melting Pot Richmond Hill went above and beyond! From our extremely thoughtful "Happy Anniversary" card waiting for us upon arrival, so every staff member stopping by to say hello.
The food was heavenly, and us both having never tried a fondue before, to say we were impressed is an understatement!

"If you don't mind spending an arm and a leg on a great experience that you can't get anywhere else this is the place for you. The atmosphere allowed for a romantic encounter but I recommend only eating the cheese and or chocolate fondue. The entrees although very original were sub par and I'm not sure the experience was worth the price. As for the cheese and dessert I highly recommend the Melting Pot. The service was good as well as the atmosphere. Overall an experience well worth it."

"I only had a problem with the manager. His staff called me 20 mins before my reservation letting know that they had a limited menu for Valentines day. No where on their website, e-mails or door of their facility did it say they had a prix fix menu. I have a special diet, allergies and am pregnant so I was very upset. The manager also ended up speaking to me on the phone on my way to the restaurant and he could not explain himself or the situation properly. When we got there, he was finally able to explain himself but still was not clear, and we needed further explanation from his wait staff. The wait staff was wonderful."

"This is a very cozy restaurant with a romantic atmosphere. The food was good but portions are small. The service was horrible as the waiter messed up the order for our drinks and it took another 10mins for the correct drink to arrive. The salad order was also incorrect and that took another 15 mins to correct. The 4 course meal took about 3 1/2 hours which was to long."

"We went on a Saturday night. With no fuss they were able to accommodate our large group of 12! Our server Stephanie was amazing. She explained everything clearly and made some great recommendations. We chose the "Big Night Out America" four course option. The Boston Lager Cheddar Cheese Fondue was fantastic. It was a slow leisurely meal - great for celebration a special occasion with a group or for a more intimate gathering. I will definitely be back!"

"I was so excited to try the Melting Pot and had such high expectations of this place. The food was amazing. The service was great. Definitely will be back for the cheese and chocolate fondue. The one thing I was not impressed with though was the decor. I was expecting the lights to be a little dimmed, maybe more of a "keg or moxies feel". The decor kind of reminded me more of a cheap diner. And the booths were not that comfortable especially after having to sit there for 3 1/2 hours. I think this place could thrive but they need to step up the decorating aspect. Otherwise, everything was great."

"This is a fantastic place to go with friends. It is impossible to have a bad time. The whole style of the restaurant encourages fun and conversation. The food is excellent and properly priced with a small but varied wine list that is good value from top to bottom. The staff is very proffesional and don't be surprised to see the owner Corbin Tomaszeski clearing your plates or bringing the coffee. Five stars all the way."

"Celebrated my birthday with friends this past weekend at Melting Pot Toronto, and it was a great time! They were very solicitous of our request to push our reservation back, and we had a lovely table with enough room for all 9 of us. The servers were very knowledgable and helpful. The area we were in was extremely noisy, but that was because of the two other groups that were seated near us; no fault of the restaurant itself! All in all, a wonderfu evening."

"Went there to celebrate my cousins birthday, made reservations for 6:15 in the beginning it was great. We were there early so got lots of great service but as time went on it got busier and they seemed to forget about us. Dinner was a little slow took us about an 1 hour to eat each course. During the meal course they didn't come back to refill our veggies or our dipping sauce, once we got the main course no one came back to check how we were doing. We were there for over 3 hours, waiting and eating. It was also a little pricey and I knew that going there but went for a special occasion and never had been before, there wasn't that much food so I guess we were paying for the experience."

"I would return for the dessert fondue, it was delicious. I found the cheese fondue to be unimpressive. The oil and broth fondues were good and the meats to go with them were well prepared. If booking for a group of 6 or more, make sure you ask for the separate room. My group of 7 was seated at a semi-circular booth that seemed like it would better fit 4 people."

"The food is just ok. With the same $$$ spent, you can have a good steak at KEG. Our cooking stove was out of order during our meal (In fact, the server told us that they knew the problem but they THOUGHT it had been fixed!). We got a quite corner, which is good, but we had to wait long long time or even walked out to call for service. My experience with the melting pot in US was way better than this store in Richmond Hill. Our server is good and funny."

"I went to the Melting Pot for my birthday and I have to say it was AMAZING!
My boyfriend and I chose the four course classic and got our moneys worth. From the cheese fondue to the chocolate fondue everything was absolutely great.
We got the Fiesta cheese fondue and I must say, if you like a little kick in your cheese then this is the one to get! The salads were amazing, and the main course was delightful. We chose the Mojo broth and it was more than we had expected. The citrus flavours gave the broth an amazing aroma and the flavours were soaked up in all the vegetables and meat. For dessert we chose the yin & yang chocolate fondue, which was the best. It was a good mix of white and dark chocolate and I couldn't get enough of"
