"The Castle is already one of our favorites but our last visit was even more impressive than usual. The new menu items were great and as always, the wine list impeccable. Although everything was delicious, the white chocolate bread pudding... to die for! We will continue to regularly dine at The Castle. Chef Seyfarth & staff prove over and over that they will never disappoint. Thanks for a great evening."

"From the moment we walked through the castle doors, we stepped into a dining experience. The service was attentive and timely, and we never had to ask for any refills or any attention. The flair of the presentation matched the unique twist on standard dishes. We would definitely return and try other dishes. Also, by eating at the restaurant, we could have returned to Dunleith the following day for a tour."

"The food was delicious. We started out with the fried green tomatoes which were by far the best we'd ever had. Then we ordered the sweet and sour pork--the fanciest BBQ I've ever tasted--, and the redfish which tasted delicious for someone who is not normally a huge fan of fish. Our server, Eric, was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. There wasn't much of a view, but the open brick walls were rustic and artsy. It was nice to have a somewhat secluded table for our romantic evening. The dessert was also great. The only thing that was a little disappointing is we asked to have the rest of our food boxed and we never got them before we left."

"A very nice evening. After the opulence of Dunleith, the room is a bit of a letdown. The food and service, however, were very good. My wife's entrée, duck breast, was tender and beautifully cooked. Portions were very generous."

"We enjoyed an excellent lunch and great service at The Castle Restaurant at Dunleith. Lunch is a more affordable meal if you're on a tight budget. The restaurant is set in the original carriage house of Dunleith. The fireplace, table linens, glassware, and furnishings create an elegant atmosphere. Our table for two in a windowed alcove made the event even more special."

"A wonderful evening was spent at the Castle by a group of four ladies. The setting is beautiful, located on the grounds of Dunlieth Plantation. Our server, Eric, was quite knowledgeable and entertaining concerning the menu and wine list. Our meal was delicious and his wine recommendations were spot on. We were never rushed and spent a very relaxing evening, enjoying a wonderful meal. I would definitely return."

"We were glad to get a reservation here. The grounds and buildings here are so amazing. We enjoyed the brunch and felt it was a very reasonable price. The food was good (however, I did not eat my pork chop as it was so tough, I had to stop and quit chewing)."

"When my husband and I arrived at The Castle Restaurant for our lunch reservation we were seated immediately at the prettiest table in the dining room. We were in the alcove with the windows overlooking the pool and wooded area behind the restaurant. It was a beautiful blue sky day and a great view. The table setting was lovely. Out waitress Rhonda was a delight. We had the special of the day which was blackened catish with diry rice and southern sucotash. It was wonderful. We were served a special treat of sweet potato biscuits warm from the oven just after our meal and the biscuits were a gift from heaven. The restaurant is very pretty and romantic. We can't wait to go back again."

"We live in St. Francisville and look forward to dining at the Castle -- it is probably the best restaurant experience in the region. Only wish we could go more often. Michael"

"I would definitely recommend this restaurant and period plantation in Natchez. The food was really good. We had drinks first in the English pub style bar downstairs where it seemed to be a place for the locals to also hang out (always a good sign)."

"at arrival it seemed like they didn't know where to put us...confused I felt. Then we were stuffed in the back room with now view plus it was extremely hot and at a table for four (4) when our reservation was for (2). Then when our food came we sat there for about 5 minutes hoping to get a fork to begin our experience...well it never came until I had to get out of my chair to find a waitress because ours was nowhere to be found which she responded with our forks immediately.
The food was good at that point if you like being hot while you eat!"

"Food was excellent. Dessert fabulous! Untimely that we arrived just after a bus of tourists and the wait staff seemed somewhat flustered. Menu was also limited that evening because of the two buses. Also those large groups made it more noisy than it probably would be on a normal evening. Had to wait for menus and had to ask for bread when the other tables had already received some. Waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and had great suggestions. A great place for a special occasion, just ask when making a reservation if they are expecting any buses."

"I was disapointed with our meal at the Castle. We started with a grilled peach salad which was a special for the evening. I had expected that grilled peaches would be warm - not only were they cold but our waiter told us that they were left over from a charity event the evening before. I had the duck breast which I enjoyed but my companion had the a pasta dish with shrimp that had no flavor. For dessert we also ordered the bread pudding which had little flavor and a very gummy texture. We were left with the feeling that the menu had been developed by a skilled chef but perhaps was being executed by less talented staff. Of the dinners we had in Natchez it was the most expensive and the least satisfying."

"Good for locals looking for a nice dinner out. The food is good but not stellar and pricey for what it is. (Someone clearly has some background, but something is getting lost. Misspellings on menu like "volute" for "velouté" and "casslest" for what, maybe "cassoulet"?). Giant misshapen crabcake with interesting sauce, 3" thick filet buried in sauce that was more difficult to cut than see and even at med.-rare was still underdone in the center. Service is very uneven although they appear to try sometimes. Waiter's assistant came over to lean on empty chair at the table to ask whether water was needed, when asked to remove water and wine glasses the waiter didn't even acknowledge when bringing the next wine, she said she had to check ano"

"Waiter, Seth, was good. Kitchen was slow. Even though we called weeks in advance, we were placed at the worst table in the restaurant, right outside the kitchen door. The constant door swinging created a draft and constant traffic behind our chairs. To obtain an entree and a salad took 2 1/4 hours."

"We came back to Natchez, in part, specificlly to dine at Dunleith again. The food, especially the Filet, was fantastic. The setting and ambiance of the dinning room was very special, romantic and respectively quiet. Everyone was very courteous and pleasant to interact with."

"A group of 6 wanted a nice evening, so we chose The Castle. Before going to the restaurant, we looked online at the menu. After making up our minds for dinner, we were disappointed to learn the online menu was outdated and the menu was fairly small. Overall, food was mediocre. Desserts took almost an hour to get to us...molten cake was suppose to be a 20 minute wait, but 50 minutes later we were served dessert. I went for the experience, but I probably wouldn't go back."

"Other than an initial mix-up with our reservation, which led to a wait in the pub downstairs where we found a table but were never approached by a server, this was easily our best meal in Natchez. Our server was the model of southern grace and hospitality. The food was wonderful and served at an appropriate time and space for such a charming setting. This was a memorable meal that stood out in a weekend of wonderful surprises in Natchez."

"I was disappointed to arrive Sunday 2/10 in the pouring rain, with a 1:15 or 1:30 reservation made online to find that only the buffet was available. There is nothing on the website to indicate that one cannot order from the menu at that time and I would not have chosen any buffet after it had been sitting out all morning. We were the only patrons in the restaurant and although the staff was friendly it felt like we were being rushed. If that's the case there should not have been a seating reservation available that late. It was the only time I ventured away from downtown all weekend and I wish I had not gone, especially in the bad weather. This is a beautiful place with a rather expensive menu, and I was looking forward to a treat."

"The Castle at Dunleith was a very nice restaurant. It has a good variety of foods on the menu and the food was delicious, but it could have been better for the price. I would go back and, for Natchez, it is probably one of the best places for dinner."

"My wife and I went to the Castle for the first night of our honeymoon. The restaurant was empty due to the super bowl going on at the same time, but even full I imagine the ambiance is amazing. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and like we were the only two people in the world. The food was also wonderful, and the wine recommendation was extremely helpful. I was everything I had hoped for the first night of my honeymoon."
