A soulful, contemporary restaurant, Decca brings the talents of chef Annie Pettry to 812 East Market Street. A commitment to locally farmed and small production ingredients is evident in the kitchen and throughout the bar and wine program. Decca makes its home in a historically renovated 1870's building, and features two intimate dining rooms, a private dining room, an outdoor courtyard, and a beautiful brick and limestone cellar for libations and revelry. Located in the heart of downtown Louisville's NuLu district, Decca is excited to feature local artists and musicians alongside inspired food and drinks in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

"I rarely use amazing to describe a restaurant, but this place deserves that title. The food, the service, the variety of seating options makes this place great. The food was without a doubt the defining part of the evening. The main dish portions are well sized and the family style side dishes give you plenty to share with others at the table. We ended up buying 4 side four our group of 4 and there was enough sides for everyone to have a little nit of each. Everything had unique Flavers and were cooked to perfection. If you are in Louisville and looking for a great restaurant that locally sources there food you have to try DECCA."

"My hubby and I were in town for our first Kentucky derby and chose Decca for Thursday night dinner.
It was amazingly perfect in every way. The kale and brussel sprout salad was incredible. I had the redfish and he had the scallops, both were delicious.
We sat on the upper terrace and finished the evening with coffee and the most lucious Meyer Lemon pots de creme I've ever tasted!
I highly recommend this restaurant"

"I finally have the opportunity to try Decca this past Friday with a friend who was in from out of town, and - despite the weather - it didn't disappoint. My dining companion and I selected different courses from the prie-fixed menu so that we could sample the others (something I highly recommend!) Of all the items, the 'something extra' course of seared foie gras, lemon poppyseed cake, wild ramps and cherry gastrique were like nothing we'd every tasted - simply amazing. And the home-made ice cream sandwich with lavender (LAVENDER!) caramel sauce finished off the meal nicely. Our expectations were also exceeded with our cocktails; the Waysider (bourbon, lime, mint, ginger beer) was refreshing and reminded us of a 'KY Mojito'"

"After reading gr8 reviews we were in town & thought we would try to get a res. We were surprised all times were avail & booked. I had chkd their website prior to res & menu looked good. Website didn't disclose for Derby w/e they would have a set menu (server told us it makes it easier on kitchen). After arriving we were informed of this but wrongly assumed that prices would mimic regular prices which would have made each dinner only $45 pp. They listed no prices on menu. With the two reasonably priced glasses of wine, our bill was $197. We asked about the pricing based on their regular prices, server just said menu and prices were for special occasions. Portions tiny and nothing special. Not worth it, they're unethical & won't be back!"

"The menu is a good mix of seafood (more than I was anticipating) as well as traditional pork and beef. The portion sizes are right sized for an individual and prepared well. The Lamb chops and braised pork were cooked well and had great flavor. The best part of the meal was the Polenta as it may have been the best Polenta I have had. The appetizer of Spinach Ravioli in a butter sauce. The ravioli was very good. The presentation of the dishes were spot on. The wine list was not great.
The overall atmosphere was a bit loud and we were crammed in. The service was very good.
Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking to enjoy the food experience. I would skip the wine. This is more for a foodie/hipster than a traditional perso"

"returned for a birthday dinner after we enjoyed the 502 restaurant week. Entree portions appear small -- but with an appetizer we shared, and we each got sides with our meal -- it was plenty. Duck confit bruschetta app was really good. I had the seared scallops with wilted greens -- excellent. Husband got the steak with parmesan polenta. Waitress was lacked a bit of confidence in describing the dishes -- and was struggling a bit to remember the descriptions. No biggie. Dessert was good - Imeyer lemon pot de creme and husband got the chocolate whatever it was. We really liked it -- but while we enjoy food like this -- we don't routinely spend this much on dinner so it's a special occassion restaurant for us."

Two people at a large table upstairs just about ruined the evening for everyone else dining there. I had to just about shout to the person sitting across from me just to be heard! "The food and service are top notch. Some of the best dining in Louisville. Every course was great. You can tell the dishes are well thought out. The service was very friendly, but not intrusive. For most, it would have to be a special occasion place, as the prices are a little high. But it is well worth shelling out a few bucks. Loved it!"

However, I thought that the portions that were given in the entrees were a bit too small, especially for the amount that each entree cost. "The ambiance of Decca is a nice addition to the NuLu restaurant scene, as is the trendy utilization of local foods into the menu. The food presentation was beautiful. We eat out at independent restaurants a great deal, and are adventurous eaters; however, we had difficulty in getting enthused about the selections on the menu. My husband generally will order an appetizer or soup, salad, and entree. That was not possible to do, as the only soup offered was on a price fixe menu.
The waitstaff was quite attentive, friendly, and service was not rushed. The seating was cramped, however, with less than 10 inches between tables.
Portions were small; after spending $200 on dinner for three, my husband came home and ordered a pizza."

"Tried Decca as part of 502 restaurant week. We were very pleased with the tasting menu, and will be back to try more. Service was very attentive, but not pretentious. The outdoor areas look really nice. I'm a bit of a cheapo -- and was very happy to find a cab franc for $8 a glass. I had the pan roasted chicken - it was excellent. My husband had the skirt steak -- which was very good, but not as good as the chicken in my opinion."
