"Loved this restaurant! We had a group of 8 - kids and adults - and we were seated immediately. The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. We really enjoyed the live music provided by Holly Kirsten. The cocktails were fabulous. This was our favorite restaurant in Breckenridge."

"The food and service were exceptional. The restaurant called the morning of our dinner to confirm our reservation. We were seated immediately when we got to the restaurant. There was no hurry for us to finish so they could turn the table, although there were people waiting. The whole evening was very relaxing with supurb food. It is our second time to eat there and we will go back again."

"After a day of shopping along the main street, Blue River is the perfect location for a first rate meal. For starters, the tomato basil soup is a must as well as a cocktail from their creative menu (we love the Snickers Martini)."

"This place captures that elegant romantic dim lighting feeling in every way. Service is amazing . Has excellent wine list. Service is timely and friendly. At night they have wonderful live jazz . "We had a great experience at Blue River Bistro. We got there early for our reservation for Happy Hour and they seated us at the edge of the bar area where we could remain for our dinner. It is very loud during happy hour so it made it a little hard to hear the music. If you want to go for a nice dinner and be able to enjoy the music ask to be seated away from the bar."

"We dined at the Blue River Bistro (BRB) while on a spring break ski trip. We are glad we found the BRB. The restaurant was efficient, without being brusque. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated with a couple of minutes. Our waitperson was friendly and helpful with offering suggestions and opinions on menu choices. With four of us, two adults and two teenagers, we threw a pretty wide net in terms of menu selections. The PEI mussel appetizer was excellent for us 4 to share. The cured salmon salad stood out as unique and very tasty. The main dishes were all very good, but the portions were a little off. A few too many potatoes with the tenderloin and way too much pasta with Robertos Penne. We will be back next year"

"I had planned on contacting you about our experience anyway so this is helpful. I have never gone to the trouble of writing a review but since our food was so bad and our bill was so high I feel compelled to do this. We chose Blue River for our "special" meal while we were vacationing in the area. We made reservations & went to a lot of trouble to be there on time. We were seated immediately & our waitress was great. Our service was great. The main entree we all chose was the Bison Special. The Bison was tough & fatty, the mashed potatoes were so strong with blue cheese they were barely edible. The bill for the 3 of us with gratuity was almost $200. What a waste of $200 and very disappointing!"

"My husband and I ate at Blue River Bistro in 2012 and enjoyed it immensely so of course we immediately made reservations when planning a return ski trip in 2013 to Breck. We were hoping our first experience was not a fluke and we were definitely not disappointed! The food was even better than our first visit. The Beef Tenderloin dusted with espresso was amazing and we really hope it is still on the menu in 2014! The live jazz was soft and romantic. The service was impeccable. Bravo to the owner for creating such a lovely, warm, romantic establishment with fantastic food. We look forward to visiting Breck in the future, partly because of Blue River Bistro."

"Had a great dinner here during our recent ski trip to Breckenridge. Made a reservation on Open Table and were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation (with an apology that they were running a litte behind). Since it was our last night in Breckenridge, we went all out from salads for apps to entrees to dessert and they were all great. I highly recommend Scooter's Dark Side for a cocktail! I wish they had cappuccino to go with our desserts instead of regular coffee, but otherwise we had a great meal and I highly recommend. We'll be back next year!"

"Such a disappointment. We chose this place based upon other reviews. We ordered a couple of house cocktails to start. The martini was warm and very poorly mixed. The flavored mojito was bad enough to send back and order a glass of wine instead. I ordered lasagna, which was a mistake. The lasagna was terrible, the meat was a ground paste and tasted like Taco meat. TACO MEAT! Plus it was made with beef. At least use an Italian sausage for the meat. The pasta was ok, but the advertised prosciutto was like chunks of ham steak. The bar tenders need to learn to mix drinks and the recipes need to be a bit more authentic. Very disappointing indeed."

"Crowded, noisy even on Tuesday night. My acorn squash dish was awesome, but companions had extremely rare steak when asked for medium rare, and lasagna was tasteless and dry. Jazz combo nice touch but in this frantic setting just becomes part of the chaos. I rarely complain but there are plenty of other great choices to eat in Breck if you don't want to shout over everyone else in the room to be heard at your table. If you want high energy and trendy it's fine."

"The lasagna at Blue River Bistro was good, and we did have a pleasant waitress. My biggest complaint is that after we had the bruschetta, and spilled a little of it on the table, our table was not wiped off until the waitress brought the check. We had salads and entrees that were placed on top of the food on the table. My husband and I made bets on whether or not she would put our check on top of the food on the table. She did wipe off a clean spot to put the check down. (The waitress had a cloth in her back pocket the whole time too. It wasn't like she needed to go somewhere to get one)."

"Lights on the table are a little dim requiring a flashlight app on my phone to read the menu. The food was excellent and the service was very attentive, both at the bar and the table. Booking through OpenTable was excellent and we got a table by the window as requested"

"The atmosphere is quite vibrant maybe a bit loud for some, but we had a booth which was a bit sheltered so we could easily have a chat.
The Pork, Beef and Shrimp sliders for starters are amazing, we had them several times before, and they can't be beaten if you like pulled Pork.

The Colorado Lamb is some of the tastiest and most tender lamb I have eaten, and we come from Australia, where they have the best lamb on the planet. The Bass, Salmon and Tenderloin were all perfectly cooked, with the right amount of vegetables and they were tasty.
The prices are reasonable, dinner for 6 including, starters, entrees, wine and tip were $320."

"Had a big family dinner at the end of ski weekend. Twelve of us were seated promptly and the service (Erin?) was strong throughout. The scene and atmosphere was lively, but not too loud, even though there was an acoustic singer playing near us.
Food was uneven -- Three guys ordered the beef filet and all three were very overcooked. Chicken Marsala was dry. On the other hand, lamb and seafood pasta was very good. Definitely disappointed in the consistent quality of the food."
