"The brussel sprouts were great and so were the fries that came with the hangar steak. The other items we ordered were just average. Our service started out great, but mid way through our meal it was if our waitress forgot about us. We sat without a drink for a long time and our waitress was all around us but just ignoring us. Very disappointing."

"As locals, we go to many of the restaurants around town. For years, The Kitchen in Boulder was one of my favorites and I was excited to have it move within walking distance in Denver. Although in most cases the food has been good to very good, the service is consistently lacking. Their is a sense of snobbery from many of the staff, as if we are privileged to be served by them. We are always very good to those in the restaurant industry and rather easy when it comes to meeting our needs; because of this, it is even more frustrating. We hope that the staff learns to be more approachable and more attentive in the near future as I would like to rate The Kitchen in Denver the same as I always did with the original location in Boulder."

"I took a few out of town guests here this past week for dinner--we were all happy and full when we left! We loved the ambiance and had a great server (although he never told us his name). Unfortunately, my fiance's pork was a little too salty. I had the hanger steak frites at the recommendation of our server; it was okay, but not fantastic. The meat itself was pretty good but I guess I expected more from the french fries. Of course, they're french fries, but I think I expected them to be baked as opposed to fried--they were a little bit more greasy than I expected, probably because most everything else on the menu is very healthily prepared. All in all, it was a great experience and we will definitely be back to try again!"

"Have been twice....first time had mediocre Hanger Steak and fabulous wait person -- female....the next night took other friends and had a fabulous piece of fish and a mediocre wait person -- male. He disappeared forever and I could see him talking to friends on staff vs. watching the tables he was serving. In a restaurant that is pricey, there should not be such lapses in service. When he did get to our table, he was very nice but getting his attention and responsiveness was less than adequate."

"Everything was fantastic...food, surroundings, etc. The waitress was a bit snooty and not very attentive at first and it took awhile for us to get our drinks, without any apology. If our waitress would have better, it would have a been a perfect evening."

Small plates for sharing as well as large plates for main meal. Great soups and salads with a wide selection of dishes to choose from that would make vegetarians happy too.

"I'd been excited to try The Kitchen for ages. Finally made it for my birthday on a Saturday evening. Overall we enjoyed the ambience,
experience & service. Our entrees were both a bit over seasoned unfortunately. The sturgeon was nearly overwhelmed by citrus flavors (of which I am a fan, in slightly more moderate amounts) and the pasta had so much garlic it was all my companion could taste by the end. I would try again, but was a little let down after the anticipation."

"This was our first dinner at The Kitchen in Denver. It was perfect! The food, the beer and wine list, and the service could not have been better. The wait staff overheard us mention that one of the two couples was celebrating 30 years of marriage. They brought us all free sparkling wine and comped our dessert. This was over the top in hospitality. We can't wait to return."
