Newburyport's Landmark Tavern. Ten Center makes it simple to get together with friends for Lunch, Dinner, or Brunch, serving dishes that are easy to share and easy to enjoy! Also offering Wednesday Nite Jazz, Weekday Specials, and Private Dining.
"We had their Sunday brunch buffet. The food was fit for a school cafeteria, nothing more. Salad choice was soggy dressed lettuce (nothing else) or Romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing and croutons, entrée choices were an eggs benedict-like poached egg (overcooked) with cheese and sauce on a soggy English muffin, a Mushroom Quiche (dry and tasteless), a breaded baked haddock, tough small pasta shells with a bland pesto sauce, potato/bacon/sausage, French toast, a ham, and a fruit salad comprised mostly of melon. With all the great choices in Newburyport it's hard to imagine they will survive long offering food like that. The building is beautiful and historic, so next time we'll go for drinks before heading elsewhere for food."

"Don't get me wrong... we were completely satisfied with our meal and the food was fabulous, but don't put Ice Cream "Bar" on the menu as an option for dessert when you are serving one flavor and minimal toppings. We have ice cream bars at home that top that. Furthermore; the ice cream bar was down in the foyer and the rest of the food was up in the main restaurant. My mother is handicapped and it was too inconvenient for her. However the rest of your offerings were delicious and the service was topnotch."

"Adjacent to the heart of downtown Newburyport, 10 Center Street serves a quality meal in a beautiful setting. The room was gorgeous with the exposed beams and fireplace and lots of natural light through the high windows. Our waiter was very attentive but never intrusive. The buffet was full of goodies and well worth the price. We have also been for on menu items with the same delicious return. Great cocktails if you want to imbibe. Definitely a destination to consider on the North Shore."

"Food was pretty good, for a buffet, but overpriced. $40 for Mother's day brunch? Restaurants take advantage of such occasions. I will not do that again."

"We recently went to 10 Center for our first time and would definitely go back again. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The pricing was reasonable given the quality of the dinner and the favorable experience. A very nice atmosphere inside. Not very noisy, easy to have a conversation but not dull either. One of the better restaurants we've come across in Newburyport."

"The buffet brunch was delicious. They had everything from breakfast items to baked haddock and a carving station. The staff could not have been more attentive. Unlimited mimosas were included in the brunch price. They also have a private room which was being used for a baby shower the day we were there. Parking can be a bit strained but the staff was very helpful in finding us a parking spot. We've also been here for lunch but you will probably have to wait for a table at lunchtime.Again, food was great. The lobster mac and cheese is one of their signature dishes. We highly recommend Ten Center Street."

"We hadn't been to 10 Center Street for a number of years and it's amazing what a new chef can do.
The 8 oz. filet mignon with crostini was outstanding. It was cooked a perfect medium rare. The special of the evening was Monk Thermador that my husband rated outstanding.
Two others in our party had burgers cooked their way, well done, with no problem."

"Food was good, not great--overly plentiful portions/really too much. Restaurants like this likely "feed" the troubling obesity phenomenon in the US. Service was thoughtful, but quite slow. Prices are reasonable--especially considering the quantities served.
This used to be a "white tablecloth" restaurant with much higher prices that down-sized its concept to address economic reality. You get what you pay for."

"We went before a concert we planned to attend. Asked for a booth upstairs, but none was available so she gave us a cozy booth downstairs, next to one of the fireplaces. Even better! A very comfortable, romantic spot. Not fussy or formal. Wonderful ambience. VWe had the muscles appetizer which was a large serving, perfect for sharing. I got a blood orange cosmo, which was prepared well and tasted great. For dinner I got the tuna steak, which was delicious and cooked just right. The accompanying risotto was very flavorful and complimented the tuna quite well. I got an outstanding glass of wine to pair with the meal. Cant recall my partner's meal, but he was just as satisfied with it. TheOur second visit to this great spot, and we will be back"

"10 Center Street is my husband's and my favorite restaurant in Newburyport. The ambiance and food can't be matched. We love that their pasta dishes (don't miss the lobster mac 'n cheese) are offered in half portions - paired with one of their amazing salads, it's the perfect dinner. We often take out of town friends and family here, and also go her for special occassions like Valentine's Day or Birthday."

"Unfortunately we had a bad experience. It was our first time there, the fireplaces In each room were lovely, but it ends There. There were three of us and the it was so loud we could barely talk because the tables were so close together. Something went wrong in the kitchen and only two of the three dinners arrived, after waiting almost 45 minutes. They apologized and said the third meal would be another minute, then ten minutes and then it came and it was burnt, and not really edible. if course they took that meal off the bill, but it was a bad experience. I don't think we'll go back unless it is to sit at the bar for a drink."

"We could not have had a better time/experience at this restaurant. The rooms (tavern downstairs and regular dining up) could not be lovelier, with beautiful walls and fireplaces. This place has such an amazing feel. I hadn't been to 10 Center in a long time due to some menu changes and me being vegetarian. I have to say, that the options they offer now are SUPERB. I am in love with the tater tot app and the meal I had... the Orecchiette pasta with eggplant."

"10 Center has been a stable in the area since at least the 70's. The service was lacking but to be fair we ate in bar area next to the fireplace. This was due to the fact that we requested a private table and I give them an A for that effort. The bartender was the waiter for us and 20-25 other people. The waits between visit were long and the wait to pay the check was painful. The flatbread was great the flank steak was a B+ the burgers were an A-. The drinks were over priced. The oysters were farm raised from CT and they were mucky. The sauces for the Oysters were great"

"Food was superb. Atmosphere is dark, cozy, and romantic. We were seated next to the fireplace. The service was well-intentioned, but awkward. We had 3-4 people attending us, but at times with cross purposes. Plates were cleared too quickly and interrupted the flow of conversation. The quality of the food and the prices deserve more professionally trained service."

"Very good brunch. Nice to be able to order off the menu if other guests don't want the brunch buffet.
Our server was cheerful and accommodating - especially with our extended stay! Would definitely bring out of towners there again.
The atmosphere upstairs near the fireplace is lovely - even though brunch is available to the downstairs diners as well, upstairs is preferable for proximity to the buffet line.
Make a reservation to ensure upstairs seating."

"Trying to find a vibrant romantic restaurant with great food for a night out without the kids is always hit-or-miss. 10 Center is a hit! Fast friendly service even on a busy Saturday night. Great selection of entrees. Great wine and drink list. Cozy atmosphere in an old colonial with exposed brick and ceilings and a few fireplaces. Definitely a place we'd go to again!"

"Small menu, but the food was delicious. There seems to be a permanent large table upstairs for large parties, which are always noisier than they should be. But because there was a jazz band playing, the noise of the large party was minimized thankfully."

"The food at 10 Center is very good! I have been many times and have never been disappointed by their food selection and quality. I could order anything off of their menu and be happy with my choice. The ambiance is also wonderful. Neat place with cool decor. Nice copper topped tables and fireplaces. Really nice place in Newburyport for a romantic dinner or even for a night out."

"We were extremely dissapointed in the quality of the food at the resteraunt. I don't know if it was an off night or that is the norm. The dishes presented nice but the quality itself of the meal was sub-par as far as taste and saqtisfaction go. We used to frequent this resteraunt quite a bit being from the area so though we would give it a try again since they have changed many things about it. Dissapointed to say the least. On the good side the ambiance of the resteraunt and bar were nice."

"We went to 10 Center for a belated Valentines Day dinner and it did not disappoint! We had been a few years back and were under whelmed but after viewing the new menu we decided to give it another try and were extremely happy. The menu was well executed and the food was fantastic. My husband had flowers delivered to the restaurant which were waiting at our table when we arrived and the servers were very friendly. Overall we had a great experience and would highly recommend."
