"Mother's Day Brunch. Absolutely Horrible!!!!!!!!! Open Table should not associate with them.
Selection was non-existant. Very limited choices for all items. Only kid item was mac and cheese, and it was not good at all. Every single table around mine were filled with complaints. One table next to me received their entire brunch for free, I guess I should have complained.
The service was slow and did not seem to know anything about the menu. The rest of staff was unfriendly and seemed not to know what the word service means.
I will never go back and I suggest the same for those thinking of going. A waste of $250. My family went for pizza about an hour later."

"The service was absolutely the worst imaginable. Our server was totally disengaged and gave us no indication that he valued our business. The only time he was efficient was when the bill arrived. Upon leaving nobody bothered to ask if we had a good experience. The food was not as advertised (Steak Diane and Chocolate Layer Cake with caramel) and was very average, especially for a place with big time prices. This place is wildly over rated. We will never go back."

"Pretty much a disaster! Our first visit (Mother's Day no less) was more than disappointing. We were seated almost 30 minutes after our reservation, and then they put us in the bar - three people at a table we were told is usually for two people. Our server was doing the best job she could considering that they had her working way too many tables. Had this been an inexperienced restaurant I might be more understanding, but they have been doing this for awhile and have multiple locations. They certainly should know how to schedule reservations and staff appropriately. It will be awhile before we return...if ever....and certainly we cannot endorse this one!"

"My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful anniversary dinner at Eddie Merlot's. Our server, Kelly, was very friendly and accommodating. She make the right suggestions when we needed one and appeared at our table when we needed her. This was a weekday night so I'm not sure if the service would be the same on a busy weekend. The food was delicious. We ordered the Steak Diane for two and Kelly prepared it tableside to perfection. The beef was so tender and delicious that we could cut it with a fork! The prices seemed reasonable compared to other upscale steak restaurants. We'll definitely be back!"

"This is a beautiful restaurant! We'd only had wine and appetizers here - both highly recommended!
We each had steaks that were perfectly done as promised: medium with some pink in the center. The sides were wonderful! We had the best creamed spinach ever - very tasty and hot! The chopped salad is a little different, with slightly different ingredients than most chopped salads, but it was SO GOOD! It was represented as being a 'large' salad, but it was average size.
The potato leek soup was very good, but I think some green herbs or chopped green onions on top would have made it a little more visually interesting.
Their 'wines by the glass' bottles are 50% off on Sundays!
I really recommend Eddie Merlot's in Warrenville/Naperville!"

"I love Steak Diane & haven't had it because when not prepared table side it misses the great wine & garlic taste. This wasn't close 75% cooked meat not raw as I remember & she made up sauce flamed it, added mushroom's. then it was over done & dry.. It was my 58th birthday we had it for two big disappointment. My wife was just there couple of weeks ago & told me it was good. Also told me about the Steak Diane.. I won't be back there's plenty of good steak places. If I knew the Steak Diane was going to be done that way I would've ordered Filet Minon or Prime Rib. Everything else was great decor service. Too bad they false advertised my choice of food my first time will be my last."

They seemed to be very short staffed and slightly unorganized.

"Received a $25 discount coupon in mail and decided to try it, even looked at joining Platinum Club before hand. Restaurant decor is nice. Wife and I had filets both ordered medium rare - mine came perfect but wife's was closer to medium but still good. They came a bit more than lukewarm, and the potatoes were lukewarm as was the sauté spinach. The French onion soup was excellent as was my wife's salad. Service was slow - never was asked if we wanted more bread and slow to fill water. I'd expect a place that wants to compete with the likes of Ruth's Chris and Gibsons price wise to do much better. They did take the potatoes off the bill when we said they were lukewarm but had to check the bill I received because they charged me $16 for a glas"

"We went for our anniversary and requested ahead of time a quite table. We recieved a very nice table in front of the fireplace with a nice outdoor view. We loved everything we ordered except I did not care for the fish I ordered (sea bass)I am very healthy eater and felt the fish was prepared in to much butter or something that made it look very greasy. Eddies potatoes were delicious however a little to rich for my taste, every spoonful I took I worried about all the fat that was in it. My husand had the chef special of lobster ravoli w/shrimp and it was awsome. I also had a salad and was delicious. Our waiter Chris was excellent. We would recommond this resturant to our freinds."

We were not in any hurry but the service was not what I would expect from a classy restaurant like this one. We had to look for our server for reordering drinks and bussing was slow. Long waits between courses probably because the restaurant was quite busy and the servers seemed to have too many tables to care for. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful, however he did not do any kind of regular check backs and did not seem to be aware of our needs. We know this restaurant is expensive but plan on $100 per person with drinks."

"2nd visit to EM impressed slightly less than the 1st, probably because it was a Friday night. The intimate bar ambiance I expected expanded to the noisier adjacent room, causing that feel to get lost. Shifted tables accommodated the guitar sound equipment for the night's entertainment in the cozy corner that I 'd requested.
Service would've gotten 5 stars except for 1 thing - once we closed out our check, not a soul checked back to see that we wanted to open a new tab, even though servers were still buzzing around and we were in plain view. Actually had to from our table to the bar. Deduct 1 star for that.
Petite filet: best I've ever had, mashed potato side even impressed. Pork chop: overspiced & fatty. Both perfectly cooked."

"Noshed off the bar menu. Meatloaf sliders were delicious - nice flavor and texture, though a bit of afterburn from the peppers, a little too much. Cheese sampling: excellent. Wine selection by the glass best I've seen in a long time. Mojito needs work. Corner table by the window in the bar is probably the best spot in the house for an intimate, classy, relaxed evening. Unexpected gem in a land of restaurants that think blaring music and noise level are desirable. I recommend this place for a long, leisurely evening (or lunch) with special friends. Looking forward to trying a steak next time, although menu is way overpriced. Bring your wallet."

"The food was amazing BUT the service was horrible.
We went there for my Birthday - we had 2 waitresses - 1 was in training(On a busy Saturday night) 1 was hardly present. They never even cleared our table until we asked them to. It took approximately 15 minutes to get our drinks.
Never even came back with a Birthday momento after asking if we were celebrating a Special Occasion.
We mentioned the poor service to the Assistant Manager Jeff - he said he would make note of it. We then saw him helping to serve drinks at an adjacent table."

"This is the second time I've been to EMs. The first time I came away with the exact same review...the restaurant is beautiful, very much a special occassion atmosphere. The food is good, but the service is terrible. When your bill is $250 per couple and you have to ask to get your order taken, ask to have dishes removed, and feel on your way out like you just wasted a whole lot of time and a whole lot of money...it ain't good. I had no desire to revisit this restaurant after my first experience, but some friends really wanted to try it and I decided to give it a second chance. I won't give it a third and the couple we were with won't be going back either. The bar was hoppin so if you want to have drinks meet there and skip the dining room."

"Deelish filets and spinach salad and awesome sidecar martinis presented at table by a super pro- pouring both glasses at the same time- female bartender. Service was a bit inattentive, forget to bring bread even though i politely reminded, and dishes took longer than normal to be cleared, surprising since we were eating a bit later, after the sat eve rush."

"Beautiful restaurant. As soon as you walk in the door, you know this is going to be a great experience. A great addition to the restaurant scene in the Naperville area. "Celebrating an anniversary and noted it upon my Open Table reservation. They took time to look at the reservation and remembered it without having to remind them. Mark was an excellent server never felt rushed and he allowed us to really enjoy our company we were with and enjoy the food. I was not pleased with the first glass of wine poured, so the sommalia came over, asked what I was looking to enjoy, brought back a couple of samples for me to try until he was satisfied that I found what I was looking for. Excellent Service - They know how to treat their guests. Thank you for an enjoyable and memorable experience!"
