"Was there with friends and was inmediaty impressed until our waiter arrived at the table. It was clear that they have not waited tables long. They did not know the menu or could understand our questions. It was very awkward everytime they came to the table.

"We were there on May 5 and were initially wondering whether we chose the right place because a street party was going on. It seemed like we might encounter the atmosphere of PR's. But we sat inside and while it was as noisy as it always is at Cocina 214, we were happy. I had the best Steak Street Tacos I've ever had, and our service was excellent. That was an enjoyable Cinco de Mayo meal, all-around."

"I enjoyed the food. We had a reservation, it gets busy. We were seated right away and placed our drink and guacamole order immediately. It took a long time before we saw our waiter again to order our entrees. The food is good and the atmosphere is lively."

"We were going to Orlando from out of town for a college graduation and made a reservation at Cocina 214 on a recommendation. We had a party of 9 and all of us had a wonderful time. The food was delicious. It was fresh and flavorful from all of our appetizers to our desserts. The restaurant was elegant yet relaxing and the service was outstanding. We could not have picked a better place to celebrate!"

"This is a hidden gem in Winter Park. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious! One of the best Mexican restaurants in the Orlando area. Great for vegetarians (as I am one!) as they offer a ton of options. Guacamole is to die for!
Margaritas are yummy although on the pricey side. Definitely worth the splurge!"

"The food is good but very overpriced for mediocre Mexican food. I ordered the $17 Fajita Salad and it came with 20 peices of romaine lettuce and four small strips of grilled chicken. It was that tiny I could count the leaves of lettuce."

"Very disappointed. We had a reservation for 5:30PM. We showed up at 5:25 and were seated. There were 2 tables of people on the patio and one other table in the main dining room. A table with 2 adults and a baby was seated directly next to us. The baby screamed and cried then entire time. Both adults coughed (without covering their mouths) the entire time. Then someone proceeded to VACUUM the ENTIRE restaurant from 6:00-6:30. Are they insane??? TERRIBLE
I have worked in the restaurant industry for 25 years, so I understand the logistics of seating parties in certain servers sections when the dining room is not full, etc... There was no reason I could come up with for seating that other party at this particular table."

"My wife and I had lunch at Cocina 214 this past Saturday. I had read about the restaurant in one of Scott Joseph's reviews and was looking forward to trying it myself. Being from Texas, I have an affinity for good Mexican food. We were not disappointed. My Grandfather passed away this past week, and one of my many fond memories of him was making home made fajitas whenever we'd visit. Your fajitas were almost as delicious. Daniel was a great server and is also from Texas so bonus points for him."

"We were a bit late for our reader but they still had room for us. We actually opted for the bar area at a communal high top. Nice drink variety although a bit pricey but hey, this IS Winter Park after all.
Chips were in thick side with a zesty salsa. I had the Luxury frozen Marg. Swirl with Chambord topper. $11. No evidence of Chambord. Son had Pop Rocks Margaret. $13. Rimmed with the candy.
Side salad, 1/2 quesadilla, chicken enchiladas.....all decent.
Total bill with tip $73. Return? Drinks maybe."

"I was hoping to share a wonderful meal with my daughter to celebrate her 19th birthday. Unfortunately, Cocina 214 was a terrible disappointment. Given that it's a Mexican restaurant in an upscale neighborhood, I made the mistake of assuming that I would be served a very good Margarita and that our meals would be delicious. It took a considerable amount of time before our server came by to take our beverage orders. When they did arrive, my Margarita tasted as if it was made with an off-the-shelf sweet and sour mix and was also very weak. The food was below average, and to make matters worse, the Sopapillas were extremely sweet and the dough was not completely cooked. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone."

"The food was good but the service was very disappointing. We made a reservation through open table 2 weeks in advance. When we arrived for our reservations not only was our table not ready but we waited over an hour and half to finally get our table. Service was very slow and no one came to apologize for our long wait and slow service. After the service experience, I am still torn whether I would go back or recommend this place again."

"We enjoy Cocina for its fresh approach to contemporary Mexican cuisine. Tortillas made onsite, a variety of fresh-made salsas (love all the habanero options), etc. We visit several times a month, for all kinds of occasions - celebrations, night on the town, or just "I feel like Mexican food tonight." Service is usually exceptional, also. Patio is slightly less noisy than inside - on a busy night, not the place to bring older guests who have hearing issues - too many hard surfaces, a cacophony of clattering and chatter."

"Drinks & atmosphere are awesome! I'll go back for drinks, but I will not go back for another meal. We had reservations but our table was not sat for over 20 min- which itself isn't bad- however after being sat we did not have 1 person come over to our table for *another* 20 min! (Even though there were at least 15 people working around us) He was extremely rushed, beginning just w/"what do you want for dinner?" nothing about our empty drinks or to see if we wanted an appetizer. The food was lack luster when it finally came out (a basic salad for $19 & a VERY small scoop of nothing special guac for $9 is ridiculous) & finally when our checks came out they ran the wrong cards for the wrong bills. Skip dinner & head straight to the bar!"

"It was an interesting evening. I had the Carnitas Tacos. They were good but lacked flavor, the meat was very dry. Once I added Salsa to them they tasted much better. My husband had the enchiladas. He said tehy were good but he liked the verde sauce better then the ranchero. I had a frozen margharita which had a lot of liquor in it, proabaly enough for 3 drinks, very strong. The atmosphere is noisy, the chairs and booths are very comfortable, but the decor is lacking. it is not very pictursque, kind of boring. The expereince was good but not great."

"I have been here several times. I think the drinks and food get better each visit, but the service was very poor this time. We had to repeatedly ask for our server and multiple things were incorrect when I finally got my meal. Good place for drinks and apps, but dont expect to get out quickly."

"The food was wonderful full of flavor and well presented. the guacamole was fantastic better then my best homemade. The service was exceptional I would say the best in town! the attitude of the servers made you feel very welcome. they all seemed happy to see you there and sincere in hoping to see you again."

"Group of 12--Celebrated my husband's 30th birthday. Service was extremely slow at first but picked up once drinks were finally ordered. Food came out very quickly and everyone in our party enjoyed their meal (just wish they would've had shrimp!) Overall, a great experience."
