Cirella's Restaurant & Bar
25 years at this "bustling" Melville hub for both "business meetings" and " family celebrations," "gracious" hosts make folks "feel welcome" as they dig into "large portions" of "delicious" Continental and Northern Italian Favorites. The first to turn a veal chop into veal parmigiana and the first to offer sushi at an Italian Bistro "crudo" Italian Sashimi. Sushi Chef Alan Kim ranked 3rd best sushi on Long Island. The Cirella family owns and operates restaurants in some very unique locations. When shopping Cirella's @ Saks 5th Ave in the Walt Whitman mall. When hitting the Beach Surfs Out in Kismet Fire Island and when traveling to Florida Cirella's in Bonita Springs Fla. Each Restaurant is managed by a family member which means you can always find a cirella around "our family serving yours" has become our slogan over the years. "First time here.Took parents for dinner.They don't eat meat-&we were glad there were choices available.We order 2 lrg pastas,a pizza & lrg salad-enough for us four.The salad was excellent-spinach w/dried cherries&goat cheese.The reg pizza-had mom going for more.Had pasta primavera-garlic/oil & pasta w/eggplant sauce(dont recall name)were good- but a bit bland.Only issue was salad served same time as other items-prefer seperate the cold from the warm foods-didnt think to request.We will go back for the salad&pizza & perhaps try a different pasta.The waitress was friendly&other wait staff attentive(water).Note-if you like quiet-check for parites.There was a party- about 20 girls-while a little noisy,my parents enjoyed seeing them having fun."

"We had an outstanding meal. Place was hopping. We had a sushi appetizer special, that terrific. The Veal Chop special was also outstanding, do not think I ever had better. Dean, the owner, stopped by our table and was charming, checked in to make sure everything was perfect (it was). Reccomend highly without any reservations."

"This place is great for a lot of reasons besides friendly staff, prompt service, and great food. They have a great bar, often music. Been there for business dinners as well as family dinners. The owner also makes rounds the old school way. Overall a must go to place."

"Had a first date there & hostess was so nice. I had flowers & they gave me a vase so I can put them into. So I wouldn't be eating with them on the table. Food & dessert where very good. Me & my date enjoyed it. She didn't know about this place & she works within 5 minutes of it."

"I ordered a pasta with shrimp entree carbonara which is normally prepared in a light pink sauce to be prepared without the cream or very light cream as I am on Weight Watchers. The item was prepared without any sauce or broth as I have had it prepared quite deliciously at other restaurants. It was virtually tasteless. The waiters/waitresses were also not attentive."

"To go to a restaurant and be able to request pasta dish to my liking is wonderful. whole wheat penne with broccoli and chickpeas (my favorite) in garlic and oil prepared to perfection. Went the night before and had a perfectly prepared chicken cutlet over a bed or salad. Again, excellent. My favorite place to go during the week or on the weekend. Hands down"

"Have always loved Cirella's - even though so noisy you can hardly hear yourself or the ohter person. When we got there for dinner around 6, it was okay, but by the time we left restaurant was crowded and extremely noisy.Menu has changed too, but food and service remains good."

"Two comments about the service:
1) Our table was not ready at the time of our reservation and there seemed to be a lot of confusion over it when we arrived, but then was asked to follow a server who was simply shuttling us toan already crowded bar area and walked away without saying a word. Communication would have helped.
2) Our waitress was what I considered to be "touchy/feely". A quick lesson to the staff should include the phrase, "keep your hands to yourself". she was very nice, but i could live without the hand on my shoulder or back every time she came to the table."

"We hadn't been here in awhile, and we missed the good country white bread that used to be enough reason to drive there. We ordered wine, but noticed that most people brought their own. It's good enough if you are in the area; it's not worth a trip."

"We had a terrible experience there. We were told one thing before we got there and it was totally different. The management was rude and unapologetic and it ruened our valentines dinner. I will never step foot in the place again and will tell friends and family the same."
