The Saloon - Newtown offers an upscale atmosphere with great Italian food, chops, steaks, pasta, veal, chicken, fresh seafood, full bar, specialty martinis & a great wine list.
"Our veal entrees were well presented and delicious. When we ordered desserts, the server should have told us that they were large enough for two. Luckily we'd left room and were able to finish them without feeling stuffed."

"Though our meal was good, it certainly didn't warrant the price ($30 for tilapia francese). In fact, overall pricing was a bit over the top for what you get ($12 martinis). For anyone who cares about lighting (and this is the biggest reason we won't be back), it was far too bright in the main dining room, especially if you're seated along the wall underneath the sconces. It didn't make us want to settle in and have a long meal. The name of the restaurant has to go, unless for some historical reason it has to stay. "The Saloon" suggests tavern fare, not italian cuisine. If we were to go back, we'd probably try out the bar section of the restaurant, which has its own seating. It seemed to be a bit more cozy in there."
