89 Fish and Grill offers healthy fresh dishes, with new menus printed seasonally. Join us for dinner and enjoy locally sourced menu items, ingredients and specials. Located in the Fulton Law Building at 89 E. Nationwide Blvd., and across the street from the Columbus Convention Center, 89 Fish and Grill will have a diverse menu of seafood while also offering steaks, Ohio raised chicken and pork, as well as pasta dishes. Fresh, forward thinking, and innovative foods are served in a casually elegant atmosphere to provide our guests with a unique dining experience. In the warmer months enjoy our expansive, beautiful patio. The restaurant offers semi-private dining for dinner. The full restaurant is available during daytime hours for private events. "I ate here with my mother. We both found several menu items that sounded good so we both had a hard time deciding. I went with the filet & crab cake. She ordered the crab crusted tilapia. We both thought our meals were good. We split the 89 salad which was amazing!!!! The dressing was so good. We sat out on the patio. There isn't a good view, but that had lights and flowers around making it a very enjoyable space. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. Service was very good too."

"I thought that our dinner was incredibly overpriced for the quality of food. I had a steak that may have been one of the chewiest I've ever eaten. The scallops were good but you only get two in the appetizer. For the price of dinner (over $90), I expected to be blown away. When in fact, I probably could have gotten similar food at my local chain restaurant. A new menu had just been created about a week before we dined here. Our server was attentive for the entire evening but when he gave us the bill, he declined to tell us that the tip is already included on the bill. This rubs me the wrong way; as though they are wanting you to make an oversight and leave an additional tip after you've already been charged."

"A very slow Monday evening with 7 guests. New server tried hard but knew almost nothing of the menu. She was sweet and tried hard, but needs real training. Food is always good and presentation is also well received. I would definitely return."

"First time in Columbus and this place was great.....even better because I am accustomed to New York pricing. Sea scallops over risotto appetizer was exceptional. Salmon "oscar style" was a hit. I had the simply grilled blacked rainbow trout. Delicious and perfectly prepared.
I highly recommend this gem by the Nationwide area. Across from Hyatt Regency"

"We met some friends for happy hour at 89. We had oysters Rockefeller and duck wings for appetizers. They were wonderful and the happy hour prices are great. We stayed for dinner and had an exceptional meal. Free valet parking is also a nice service that this restaurant offers. We will definitely be back hopefully on a warmer night so we can sit out on the beautiful patio!!"

"Absolutely loved this restaurant. Had the Chorizo Scallops, which were cooked to perfection. My wife had the Fillet Mignon butterflied cooked to order. Steve was our server. His expertise was above and beyond. The hosts were very friendly... Kevin and Alejandra. Even their busboy, Mike were in tune with the menu and made awesome suggestions. Highly recommend the key lime dessert and I can honestly say I don't like lime but it converted me."

"The Chowder was delicious, but it was warm, not hot. The lighting was poor. The service was okay, but the server needed reminded to bring us sides we asked for two times. Nice valet parking. Views were of the fourth street off ramp into downtown. Considering the above & the prices, we won't be back."

"It was our 20th and I made a reservation. When we arrived there was outdoor music so we asked to be seated on the patio outside. Nice outdoor setting right on Nationwide Blvd. The music was great, but the service was very slow. Our hostess was a sweet lady and was friendly, she just took a long time between visits and it took a while for our food.
Long story short, I ordered the big Filet Mignon medium well - it came out nearly rare - she took it back ( long wait) and it was still pretty rare in the middle. I didn't fuss about it, in fact was pretty laid back, but when the bill came they took the meal off the bill and sent us home with a free desert. This could be a great place if they'll pay attention to a few of these type details."

I went on a Friday night with my wife and they had a single live musician ( playing a guitar in the corner near the bar ) with a sound system that made it possible to hear him over the room's noise level. He was playing modern pop culture songs and a few throw backs to the 90's, 00's and 10's if memory serves.
Only minor complaint is it was a noisy environment. Not ideal for a "romantic dinner", but great for good food and fun!"

"Went for Happy Hour and dinner before a show. Just "OK" at best. The HH was better than the dinner - a good value for drinks. Oysters were very dissapointing, two of the four oysters were actually missing the oyster! Dinner entrees were bland - nothing special. Columbus really needs a first rate seafood place that's a notch under the price tag of the Ocean Club, too bad this isn't it."

She made a great suggestion for a wine and really made a exceptional effort to insure we made a good choice. 89 Fish and Grill replace an old Irish Pub across the street from the Hyatt. Without question 89 Fish and Grill is the BEST Columbus fish house! The marketing department desperately must problem solve how to appeal to the Columbus area public, and not only to the convention business. Give 89 Fish and Grill a try (free valet,) and you shall be hooked.
89 Fish and Grill façade is a simulated older brick building; however, this fish house which recently celebrated a one year anniversary has been refurbished top to bottom. This is not a Laundry’s, but offers the same quality and quaintness.

"This was my first time there, only knew about it from an internet source. I have had mussels on both coasts and in between. These were the best I ever had. The sea bass was awesome. I had hoped the sea scallops would be more seared, but they were still good. And I love that you have the 55 salad. My friend and I have told everybody how good it is and I believe that word of mouth is as good as anything. The hostess was so cute and pleasant, as was the waiter and bartender. Keep it up. Will be back."

"We had dinner Wednesday evening. Our server was very friendly although very busy, he forgot a couple of things but took care of it. I had the sea bass which was amazing. My husband had the tuna and it was a little tough. The mussels were great. WE are from Columbus and own 3 restaurants ourselves so we understand the restaurant business. The only thing I would change is this. We stayed at the Drury Inn for a "Spring Break Night" with our kids. It was close to the hotel and we love seafood and had not been. I wish on the kids menu there was a fish choice as our little 4 year old love fish and we were charged full price to get him a piece of fried fish. Although it was outstanding, it would be nice to have a kids size. Great time!"
