Large, upholstered chairs are perfect for lingering over a cocktail or just escaping with a good book, as palm leaf motifs and island-inspired furnishings transport you to that other time. Our Afternoon Tea is a tradition, after a day out discovering Oahu. It is also a popular venue for special occasions and showers. "Service was a little slow for having only 3 tables, one with 4, another with 6 and our pair. I had to ask for menus and then wave down the wait staff so we could place our order. My tip was way too generous for the service we received which was my error. I would have given the standard 15%. Hence, the tip I left is not a reflection of the service but an error in my calculation. However, I love the hotel, it's location and have been to the other 2 restaurants and will continue to patronize the place."

"We went for tea but there was no one to greet us, so we just sat on a table and waited. Finally a young lady showed up. She helped a table with guest then finally came to us. The place itself was very nice."

"Arrived at the restaurant and had about three employees pass right by us as we were standing near the hostess stand (that was turned oddly toward the wall, we wondered if we were in the right place). Finally someone acknowledged us and we were sat very quickly,. We kept our backs to the driveway of the hotel--one entire 'wall' of the restaurant opens to the cars pulling up and the valet service. Our server was probably 20 years old, not very experienced or professional, and it showed. I half expected her to call us "dude." The sandwiches were good but small (about 1 1/2 bites), the desserts okay. Tea tasted good but was not piping hot. Each pot has two cups. Won't return, there are better teas."

"This was my late birthday celebration. I took my Family to The Vernada in March as an after the wedding get together. The views of the The Kahala property and the water are quite pretty. Love coming here for Afternoon Tea! This was our first time going in for an early dinner. Had Afternoon Tea reservation at 5pm. The tea service was great, but we wanted a little more. We stayed for a light meal. Enjoyed the Ahi Musubi, Short Rib Tempura, Naan Bread with Ahi Dip and Onion Soup, (the soup was delicious). If you can't get your preferred seating at Hoku's, try The Veranda. The manager, Kelli-Ann was GREAT. Wished we stayed later to hear David Swanson. Oh well, always a next time!"
