"I was completely disappointed by my experience. I have come here many times before it's always been excellent. This time the food was bland tasteless.and poorly presented. The rice looked and tasted like it was re-heated sticky paste. It feels like they got a new chef who had no clue about what he was doing. Our waiter was awful. I will be going to Michaels from now on. I won't be coming back. Soo sad."

"After having been to several restaurants for MOther's Day that offer minimum menus at sky high prices I was happy to see that L'Opera did the exact opposite. Their menu offered great food for adults & our 5 children ages 7-10. Feast included Filet Mignon, butternut squash soup, minestrone soup, veal piccata, Frutti Di Mare and other pasta dishes. All nine of us walked out of L'Opera happy due to the exceptional food and service we received. The chef even adjusted his recipe to satisfy our dietetic needs. Thank you to them for making Mother's Day 2013 a yummy and unforgettable experience!"

"We had dinner here for our anniversary. We had a lovely table, great food and service. I could barley here the music. Need to turn it up a little. Waitress was very helpful with suggestions. We enjoyed our dinner. It was great making the reservation's on line."

"The service really enhanced the food ... by knowing the menu very well. "Tina" also was great with the wine list. Knowing which Pinot was more full bodied, etc. Tried the triple pasta for two - great selection. Fresh tastes. Not limited to Italian but that is obviously the heritage. Treated all guest equally we were in business mode and casual couple next to us were handled with equal courtesy. Does not always happen."

"The restaurant, on a Saturday evening at 6:30 was quiet - perfect atmosphere, beautiful decor and table settings. The service was amazing. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by smiling faces, to the minute we left and were bid goodnight - the staff at this restaurant were extremely attentive, professional, caring and friendly.
The food was delicious. My only complaint was the Lobster Ravioli, although tasty, the filling was a little too dry. But we all enjoyed our meals, drinks, appetizers, breads, the house Merlot was very good, and the desserts were perfection.
The Opera Singer was the icing on the cake - Excellent!"

"We decided to try L'Opera after reading the recommendation of a trusted friend. It was great. We had a lovely meal, good wine and wonderful service that evening. We were only two that night but there were many families with multiple generations. The room is large and the ceilings high so even though I've mentioned that the noise level was Energetic, it was not so loud that you had to raise your voice or strain to hear. It was well managed. The portions are large and the food was delicious."

"Went to this restaurant before the Opera. Service was excellent as was my husband's martini. Ordered the Hangar Steak medium rare and it came out well-done. Kitchen was able to bring us another within 5 minutes. Steak was tough. Salads and smashed potatoes were great. In spite of this I'd go back again. Just wouldn't order the meat."

"This is one of the real gems in Long Beach. When I'm in town, I always go there, and it just gets better and better. Love this restaurant. The service is outstanding. The prices very reasonable. The food is excellent. The bread is to die for. And the minestrone soup is fabulous--and vegan. And they are very flexible. If you want something made a special way, ask. I've never had them not do it."

"Severely dissappointed. Used to be a regular and haven't been in awhile due to the location and unpleasant night life/metro crowd. We spent $270 on dinner and did not like anything. I'm not sure what they cut back on but the carpaccio, seafood appetizer, lasagne, bolognese, lobster ravioli and fettucine were underwhelming. Service was awful. Scott seemed too busy to tend to us and annoyed when we flagged him down. We still tipped him $45 but won't come back."

"We have been going to L'Opera for at least 10 years. It was great when it started, slipped a bit in the food, and now is back with very good food. We were pleased to see the transition back to their roots and creating very good food. Two nitpicks though: (1) the food was a little slow coming out; and (2) the fixed prixe dish that our friend had was reduced portions of each. If you are going to do a fixed price -- give the regular size portions. Overall, good night and we will be back."

"I have eaten at L'Opera many times and every time is a wonderful experience. Andrew was our server and he is gracious and and fun. Alex was behind the bar and he makes incredible Bellinis. The food was amazing as always and the valet service is very fast and they are very respectful of your car. At one point a guest in our party asked for orange juice and when Andrew found that there wasn't any available he grabbed oranges and squeezed fresh juice for us. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't say enough nice things about the professionals work there."

"First timer with my husband, I got the STRACCETTI entree-Well done (I LOVED IT), my hubby got CALAMARI FRITTI as his appetizer and CAPPELLI LOMBARDI for his entree (He loved the calamari, the ravioli was filling and white sauce was delicious).
Our dessert was PANNA COTTA, absolutely delicious! I would go back anytime just to buy the dessert! Our total was about 140$, because we ordered a glass of wine (12$) and 3 cosmos (14$ each, yikes!). Our waitress name was Julia, she was friendly and her recommendations were very helpful. The feel of the restaurant was cozy and relaxing, very classy and upscale; which is what I was looking for. Dress code business casual."
Our dessert was PANNA COTTA, absolutely delicious! I would go back anytime just to buy the dessert! Our total was about 140$, because we ordered a glass of wine (12$) and 3 cosmos (14$ each, yikes!). Our waitress name was Julia, she was friendly and her recommendations were very helpful. The feel of the restaurant was cozy and relaxing, very classy and upscale; which is what I was looking for. Dress code business casual."

"We made reservations noting we were attending the symphony first, and then coming there for dinner after 9:30 p.m. We were late, the symphony concert had many standing ovations, but they were still ready for us after almost 45 minutes.
My associates, one of which is quite difficult to please when it comes to food, was very complimentary. The house wine was excellent. While my difficult associate did have comments regarding the service (he always does), I did not see them as reasonable.
And the bread was divine."

"We had a business lunch at L'Opera. Our table was ready when we arrived. The service was great and every single one of the meals ordered were fantastic. The time between the salads and lunch was a little slow however once the meals were placed it was obvious a lot of time is put into each presentation and freshness of each meal, therefore the wait was worth it."

"The ambience was lovely... The hostess' were very pleasant too. The starter and the wine selection were very good as the dessert.. But I must admit that I was quite dissapointed with the Rib Eye.... It came with Asparagus, but the Rib Eye itself lacked of flavor. Was a bit dry and basically gave 3/4 of the leftover to our two Yorkies at home... Next time I would order something else ..At the end of the evening the Mgr at the front told us to take as many balloons as we wanted.. He was so sweet."

"Took a client there on Monday evening... as well as a few "higher ups" from my organization... this place was fantastic! "We have always loved L'Opera when we come to Long Beach on business. The food and ambiance are always superb. I was disappointed in the menu this time, however; I was wanting something in a cream sauce but couldn't find anything. All of the recipes seemed to be more of the southern Italian influence and there was little, if any, northern Italian. I ended up having the Lasagne and it was very good, but not what I was hoping for. We still love the restaurant and will continue to go there, but my expectations will be a bit lower next time."

"We had not been to this restaurant in over 10 years. We will be back! We had a great table in the alcove of the corner - the hostess accomodated our request for a special table. We felt very urban being right on the street. Our waitress was the best- she had the perfect mix of attentiveness yet wasn't overbearing. The male opera singer came to our table and gave me chills with his amazing voice. We all had the soo veed fish (spelling is wrong i know!) It was amazing. The salads were good. The chocolate deserts were to die for....The restaurant had a nice vibe, we will be back."

"An amazingly great restaurant. The service was out of this world. I had the rack of lamb which was exquisite. The 3 different kind of ravioli we had as part of appetizers, was absolutely delicious.
