da Soli is the newest "Italian" restaurant to open in Haddonfield NJ. Chef/Owner Mark Berenato brings 25 years’ experience to his two-floor Trattoria. The menu is a blend of fare from all over Italy. Local ingredients, braised meats, handmade pastas, and grilled seafood are the highlights on the menu and daily creations.
"Local place in an indoor "mall" in Haddonfield. We sat upstairs where the noise is a bit less, but it's still difficult to hear ourselves. Food was excellent, service variable, prices moderate. Biggest concern is the noise level."

"Artichokes Roma started off a wonderful evening. The attentive servers and the main courses always deliver a great evening. One of our servers announced proudly that it was his first day on the job. He had waited tables in PHL but he had been anxiously waiting to be part of the Da Soli experience and hoped we enjoyed the evening as much as he did! The art work and the casual elegant atmosphere make for a great setting."

"My husband and i had dinner here on Saturday evening. We arrived 15 minutes early and got deated right away. This was a 6;45 reservation I might add. Our server told us thae specials and came back very quickly to take our order but we hadn't decided yet. We wanted to order an appetizer and continue to peruse the menu. The server told us that we couldn't do that because it would be getting busylater so we had to hurry up and pick something . Talk about feeling rushed. Then people checked us every couple of minutes. We actually told a server to let us just enjoy our meal. This was our third visit to Da soli but we won't be rushing back. We felt like they wanted us to hurry up and leave."

"I would agree with some of the other reviews I've read about this restaurant. But here is my personal opinion: The food was delicious. The staff was very attentive (sometimes too much so - several people came over to ask if everything was Ok, one right after the other;-) and our waitress was very nice. There was a lot of time between our courses but I much prefer this over being rushed through a meal. We were not rushed at all and we enjoyed taking our time. The only real negative was that it was incredibly loud. We were only 4 at the table and often had to lean in to hear each other. I can't imaging going in a big group and trying to hold a conversation with someone 2 seats down."

"I tried this restaurant for the first time during restaurant week, which I understand can be hectic; however, I've tried other new places the same way and this meal was very disappointing. The 1st course of polenta was excellent, but it was downhill thereafter. 2nd course of grilled shortribs was very thinly sliced, which may be why it was hard, tough and chewy-it was also very spicy! - even w/o eating the longhots served with it. Next was the lamb, which was good but overcooked at medium-rare - it was barely pink inside. Dessert was underwhelming at best - the fried plantains!? were dry and tasteless - the ice cream was the best part of this course - maybe next time they should stick with Italian desserts."

"The food was ok, but definitely not as good as the last few times we were there. The cesar salad was bland, and the fish was flat. The noise level was more than we would like, and we were having a hard time talking to the people we came with."

"Great restaurannt in the middle of Haddonfield. We usually try for a BYOB to keep the cost in check - and this one fit the bill. Our party of 8 enjoyed all the food. The service was really good - waitress and busboy were very attentive. Chocolate Peanut Mousse cake was to die for!!! We would go back."

"food was good except for the short rib app. we were warned it was not what you would expect as it was in steak form. what we were not warnred of was it's almost grisly non-tender texture. would not of thought a restaurant of this caliber should have it on their menu. service was superb and friendly. the desserts,to die for,and worth the cost of the whole dinner."

"Food was all very good-except for fried banana dessert, which came to table surprisingly cold & congealed which made it pretty unappetizing. Filet was cooked perfectly and appetizers were all interesting and flavorful. Our waitress was very pleasant & proficient, but appeared overworked as she seemed to be the only server for the entire room downstairs. We waited longer than two adjacent tables for our entrees(both of which were seated AFTER us) & no explanation or "they'll be right out" was given, so we felt a bit ignored. Also, there was a large table with several young children (who were in/out of their seats constantly) which seemed to take up half the restaurant. Needs better ventilation! Food: very good Ambiance:Not my taste"

"We went for Restaurant Week. We were a group of 7. 5 out of 7 did dnot like their meals. Three of the four courses were bad. We sat on 2nd floor and smoke from kitchen came up through open atrium area. Something was burning! Our server was friendly and accommodating."

"Good food but horrible atmosphere upstairs. The loud 70s music ('you dropped a bomb on me, baby' song) did not compliment the meal at all. The strange artwork (paintings of Angelina Jolie and Gwen Stefani holding babies) was unpleasant to view during mea. There is a real disconnect between quality of food and pricing with the ambiance/service. I doubt we would return even though entrees were very good."

"Food was delicious. We sat at a table right next to the door - very disruptive and cold. Bus boys were attentive, brought bread and opened wine right away. However, after 15 minutes we had to ask the hostess for a server. It appeared that servers were taking care of tables all over the place, as opposed to a "station". Each table around us had a different server and the one we finally got was taking care of tables on the other side of the room. She was rushed and not very helpful in selections. One appetizer was not served as hot as it should be leaving us to think it sat for a while before being brought to the table."

"While the food was incredible and our waitress was great, the hostess was quite rude to us from the moment we walked in. She just had this rude, impatient demeanor about her. I am always shocked that people in the service industry could treat customers that way. What she was trying to tell us was in fact correct (they were extremely busy and we had to wait a little; fine, no problem at all), but her tone and the way she said it almost ruined our dining experience. You don't talk to customers that way. Good thing the rest of the Da Soli employees and the food was outstanding!"

"we've been here before but this time we went with friends who don't like an energetic environment so asked to be seated upstairs. I like the first floor, there's more action but either way the food was fabulous as always. we all got the app salad of octopus and calamari, wow! we had two seafood dishes and two chicken dishes, all were as good as it gets."

"My hubs and I went for Vday. Absolutely great choice. Is a Italian BYOB with a relaxed cozy atmosphere. Great for a romantic dinner for two or few for a group couples outting. We got two appys, the couples surf and turf special and split a dessert. Everything was so delicious and very affordable for all that we got. The menu was a bit limited but it seemed like you could pick anything and you would live the way it was prepared. I def recommend this neighborhood gem!"

"Restaurant was very bright comfortable decor. A gathering place for easy talking and wonderful food. The pleasant waiter was very attentive but did not hover. The menu has something for everyone including delightful pear salad, steaks, seafood, pasta. This is restaurant you do not want to pass up. One note: This restaurant is two story so anyone unable to climb steps to the second floor should let them know when you make reservations. I would recommend reservations for they are busy."

"We had a wonderful meal on this weeknight during Valentines week. So many people complained about the noise level that I was concerned, but it was definitely not an issue (like we've experienced elsewhere, notably Fieni's in Voorhees.) I think that I would have given the food 5 stars if the salad had been better. I love a fresh Arugula salad, and this one sounded good on the menu, but I was really disappointed. It was advertised as a filet and grana cheese atop the arugula, but it was more like a ground beef, which was a tad greasy, mixed with what was now a limp green. The rest of the meal was delightful. The Suppli (arrancini) were delicious, albeit not spectacular. The salmon with fig & balsamic was heavenly! Hubby loved his choices."

"We love the food here--the artichoke appetizer is fabulous-- but were a bit put off Saturday night by our waitress trying to push us out the door. We had only been at the table for 1 1/2 hours which is not long for a Saturday evening meal. They should leave more time between reservations. Also, we asked if we could get an appetizer as an entree---ie. give a larger portion and we would pay more--and were told that was impossible for a Saturday evening (it was gnocchi so not something difficult to increase portion size). Between the noise, the effort to turn tables quickly, and a waitress with an attitude, we will think twice before going again."
