"We have been to Cibo's a couple of times now, this time we were not impressed. The food was cold and only so, so. They have a new menu, which isnt as good as the last one. Service was a little slow, but we were a large group. The place was also very noisy."

"Servers are very attentive. The food is tasty although some might find the portions a bit on the small side. The atmosphere is as should be expected of a restaurant this size on 17th ave. All in all a great place to hang out and have a few drinks or even a date night."

"We have been to Cibo numerous occasions, and keep coming back for the food. The staff seem to be more interested in chatting with each other than getting you another drink or clearing your plates. Food comes out quickly, once ordered, thank god. There was one point where we didn't see our waitress for 20 minutes, and when we asked someone else for more water and clean plates, he didn't return either. It's too bad because the food is really great!"

"We went there with 7 family members and loved the family style meal. The music was way too loud though, we had to yell across the table just to talk to each other. Food was great, and can out very fast, considering the place was packed. The server didn't come around too often, which was nice but also inconvenient if you needed to leave quickly."

"I had been to Cibo for lunch some time ago and enjoyed the food and service. This time our family of 4 went for dinner and we were all disapointed. My husband and son had the arctic char and it was pretty mediocre. My daughter and I had the pizza and it was okay. We also had appetizers and they were the best part of the meal. The service was not great. I am not sure if it was our waitress or the cooks but we waited at least 20 minutes for our desserts to arrive. We had ordered coffees and they were long gone by the time our dessert finally arrived. If you want to go for some appies and a glass of wine then this would be the place but not for dinner."

"Great 'abandoned warehouse' atmosphere. Food was fantastic. We had pear pizza, wide boar bacon pizza, gnochi, and sword fish entrées. Caprese salad was fab. Waitress was indifferent. First 2 entres arrived 10 minutes before the last 2 so the first 2 people had the choice of being rude or having cold food. Waitress did not offer an apology. She was disinterested all evening and didn't even introduce herself. It was sad that her attitude affected the experience. I will go back but maybe not for a while..."

"Great appetizers and small entree plates all meant for sharing. Perhaps one of the best scallops I've had - cooked perfectly with a little bacon wrap. Delish! White Sangria drink special was the perfect warm weather bevvie. We sat inside, but the patio looked great too."

"A girlfriend & I decided to try out Cibo's patio. The restaurant was busy, with huge demand for the patio that day, and although patio tables can't be guaranteed, I think the OpenTable reservation helped. Despite being right on 17th, they've managed to create a private but lively patio on the busiest pub & bar street in town. We only ordered their olives & almonds (wine was our focus at the time), but that came quickly & was delicious. I've been before & the food has never disappointed. Great new addition to the Red Mile."

"I really wanted to like this place. I dined here two weeks in a row just to give it another chance. I was with a large group both weekends so that could have something to do with it. The first evening, the ribs& steak came out cold and the rest of the dishes just lacked flavour. Based on the experience with the food, we passed on dessert and headed to Tutti Fruitti for froyo instead. The second time dining; I tried to be open minded and didn't tell my friends about my experience the previous weekend. Again, the pasta I ordered was actually worst then it was the previous week. My friend ordered the pork tenderloin and she just couldn't eat it. It tasted like pork that was boiled in hot water. No flavour. I probably won't be back."

"We loved the energy this place had and pleasantly surprised how large and open the restaurant was. We sat upstairs and was perfect for two people overlooking the restaurant below. The food was great and everything we had we shared which was perfect, the food was unique and tasty with a great wine list. Our waitress was fantastic, so much energy, fun and attentive without being intrusive; was a perfect combination. Definitely will be coming back!"

"Food offering is varied and interesting but I'm still confused as to being 'to share'. I asked the waitress if that meant all the offerings were of a size to share and she said No...it meant it comes at different times so that we may want to share if our meal doesn't come as quickly as our companions. This sounds to me like they dont want to be responsible for pacing a meal and that the food comes on the kitchen's schedule as opposed to the diners needs. Our entrees came minutes (2 or3mins) after our appetizer tray came. We sent it back but it was just put in heat and 'held' until we were ready...about 20 minutes later. Quality then suffered. Demographics of both wait staff and clientele very young. Groups that were quite noisy."

"The ambience of the restaurant is very nice, cozy and a little rustic. Perfect. The food on the other hand is not good and definitely does not compete with any of Calgary's great restaurants. I had the kale salad, kale with apple, walnuts and cheese sounds nice. That was all it was with no flavor added, just kale which I love but apparently not like that, very few thin slices of apple and raw potato (?, never had that before and would not choose that again) and some grated grana padano. My friend had the orecchiette which was just alright, there was an overwhelming smokey flavour to hers that took over the taste. Too bad I was really excited about this place and had heard great things."

"Many of their wines listed on the menu had incorrect years listed beside the bottles compared to what was available in the restaurant. As menu's change frequently, careful measure needs to be taken to update wine lists too.. Like buying a car, make, model and year are key items considered when making a selection. Other than that, GREAT service."

"We enjoyed this restaurant for our first time visit. It was a little louder and crazier than I was anticipating, but it was a Friday night and it looks like this is a favourite among groups of family and friends. As a couple we found ourselves talking really loudly, so it definitely does not have a romantic ambiance or make it very easy to chat on a date night. Food was delicious and I love that it comes out when it's ready, although they must have forgot our pizza because that took quite awhile to come out. Servers all look like they're having a great time, which really helps with the quality of service in my opinion. Appears to be a great spot to go for a night out with friends with great food and drink!"

"Booked a reservation at CIBO for a corporate dinner with Executive from out of country invited.
AMAZING!!!
Not only were we served promptly, but noone forgot about us tucked away in the wine room! It was Fabulous! The waitress was more than accommodating and the food we "shared" as reccomended was more than enough for 9 men and 1 lady."
