Housed in a comfortable midtown brownstone, the restaurant occupies two floors, with a capacity for 115 people. Each dining room evokes a warm, intimate feeling and reflects the colors and images of Spain accented by a display of contemporary art. Party space is available in two locations within the restaurant; the "Patio" room, enclosed for year-round use and accommodating a maximum of 16 people and the "Salon", located on the second floor with a capacity for 40.
Solera's cuisine has traditional roots and explores the primary flavors found in Spanish cooking. Whether you choose to enjoy Tapas, Paella or the Main Courses Solera offers its guests a taste of Spain in an authentic, yet contemporary manner.
Solera's Wine List is exclusively Spanish. It is 'value priced' and reflects Spain's many diverse geographical regions. Additionally, they offer approximately 15-20 wines by the glass, and twenty-five Sherries and Montillas that form a perfect compliment to its regional cuisine
"Everything about Solera was fantastic from the bread to the perfect fresh croquettes that melt in your mouth. The stuffed peppers were fresh and flavorful ,the only tapas that was not good was the calamari, it was cut iinto small pieces and was over fried and tasteless. The paellea was amazing and fresh and the beef filet delectable. We will certainly return."

"Booked a table last minute for a group. We ended up collecting late, and had folks coming and going for various reasons. The staff was extremely accommodating through all of it, it was a non issue (ok, they weren't slammed and we were a later seating, but still, they were all very friendly and helpful). The food was great, we all liked what we had, from apps to dessert. I didn't know of this place at all, found it from searching open table; we went partially for loaction but food exceeded expectations, I'd go back."

"After having lived in Spain I am usually disappointed by Spanish restaurants. This was certainly not the case with Solera. I knew there was something to this place when the tables around me were populated with Spaniards. The food was fresh and delicious. This is the real deal! I will certainly be back."

"We had several tapas for starters (gambas, jamon, chipirones etc) and shared solomillo and merluza for our entrees. Paired with 2008 Muga Great & efficient service. Recommended!"

"The food is both quality and creative. This restaurant has some excellent twists on old Spanish favorites. For example they have a black rice Paella that really rocks.
The service is excellent, and follows the tradition of those classic 70's restaurant. The server is professional, but you feel authentically served by a dude with a real Spanish accent.
The only downside is that the second floor dining room feels too much like my own dining room. The lighting and the walls needs a little bit of change in order to set a different mood for dinning.
All that said, I highly recommend the place."

"We went to Solera for Valentines Day and it was a great choice. The appetizers were unbelievable. Our top choice were the Wild Mushrooms in Garlic. We ended up having four appetizers then split an order of paella. The Pollo y Mariscos paella was enough for the two of us and was the best we have had in a long time. We finished it all off with dessert. My wife had the Delicia de Flan and felt is was not the lightest flan she had ever had although it was good. I had the Arroz con leche con Picón - Rice pudding with Picón, and it was the perfect end to a perfect meal. The staff that we met were all from Spain and seemed to enjoy providing outstanding service. This is definately a great mid priced Spanish restaurant worth eating at."

"Though they did not have our Open Table reservation when we arrived, they seated us immediately. Service was excellent - everyone skilled, knowledgeable, and very gracious. The restaurant is immaculate and unhurried - very European in appearance and feeling. The room is lively but not loud. Our food was delicious and beautifully presented. We particularly enjoyed the sherry tasting - three good sherries of increasing color, served in crystal clear glasses, poured to exactly the same level, carefully arrayed in front of each diner. A wonderful place for food and conversation!"

"Been coming here for years and just love their appetizer selections. Did not have room form entrees. Love the grilled calamari, croquetas, almejas with asparagus in sherry sauce"
