"We were there on a Travelzoo voucher which provides a choice of selected appetizers (1 to share), a soup or salad and entree for each with a wine flight of 3 wines, sparkling rose, a white and a red.
We shared the crabcakes appetizer which was quite tasty. We had the French Onion soup and a fresh pea bisque. The FO soup was hardy and tasty, though I ended up with a rather large bay leaf in my mouth. The bisque was overpowered by other seasonings so there was no fesh pea taste; a disappointment. The textrue was terrific. For entree's I had the Cioppino and my wife had the salmon. The salmon was just ok and little too done; not quite dry done, yet very close. The Cioppino was overpowered with Pernod, so everything tasted like licorice."

"The best part about this experience was our waiter - pleasant and helpful, attentive but not intrusive. The ambiance seemed nicely appointed but not that warm...more suited to having drinks and appetizers vs dining i think. Live music was a nice touch but it would be nicer if there were some rugs around to soften the sound. I looked forward to spending time in this lovely SF hotel, but it seemed to miss on having a personality. i think it would be fun to have cocktails or tea service, but not where i'd enjoy having dinner. Food was good but i clearly love to see the whole package when dining."

"The Fairmont is a fabulous hotel and the Laurel Court is an outstanding restaurant. The food was excellent and plentiful, wine was very good and reasonably priced and service was 5-star. Next time I am in San Francisco I would make a point of returning in spite of the many other options for fine dining in that scenic city."

"Having always lusted to have a proper afternoon tea at the venerable Laurel Count at the Fairmont, and it did not disappoint. The Devon cream was heaven - imagine the sweetest of butter, but better. It was wonderful to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the weekend and just sit, sip tea and nibble on finger sandwiches and pastries."

"If not for the poor service, I would have given the restaurant 5 stars. The food - The crab cakes were all crab, even with full lumps of crab meat in them, most delicious. The french onion soup was spot on, the ciopino and it was chock full of sea food, and the NY steak was cooked to perfection. The service - in an upscale dining venue that Laurel Court wants to be, the service turned out to be Denny's service. The wait staff was not at all attentive to our needs, such as water when we needed it, bread when we run out, and our check when we're ready, we had to ask for everything, sometimes twice. The wait staff did not deliver the dining experience that this place deserves."

"I wouldn't have known this was a restaurant had I not seen the pictures on the Fairmont Hotel website. Stunningly beautiful and intimate, but the oval tables for two push the diners a little to far apartment. The servers were all very nice. "I had occasion to have dinner and a few cocktails. The staff were all friendly with outstanding service. I really relaxed and enjoyed the piano music. My dinner was delicious and priced reasonable. In relation to the restaurant is the parking. I advise not to park with the valet. I felt like highway robbery had taken place as the fee was off the chart."

"The food was not very good. Presentation food generally does not have much flavor with the exception of the dynamic chef at the Warwick who prepares dynamite presentation food with SUPER FANTASTIC FLAVOR.
Also paying the balance combined with our Travelzoo special ended up costing the same amount without a coupon. We paid $69 for the coupon, and $53 on the balance. The total bill was $122, so no savings. We had one glass of wine that was not on the coupon. I feel it was a sham and based on this experience I am more discerning about restaurants that actually provide a "deal." We would not have eaten here were it not for the Travelzoo special. We probably would have had a better meal in the Tonga Room. Will never dine here again"

"We stayed at the Fairmont and thought we would have Brunch before we left ;what a mistake! The food was not as good as a free breakfast that you would get at a Holiday Inn of Fairfield Inn. The omelet was horrible, dry and over cooked. The food selections are small. The cost....$76.00 for 2 with a build in 15 percent tip? For coffee and juice? Go to Dukes Malibu for a great brunch. Stay away from this place. This is the only buffet that I left hungry!"

"The Laurel Court is a very pretty circular room with trompe l’oil walls, marbleized columns, and low lighting. Despite it’s elegance, it doesn’t evoke an intimate atmosphere as it is adjacent to the lobby with the main walkways and staircase running down the middle. If you like to people watch, it’s aptly situated, but for a romantic evening, it disappoints. We bought a “local deal” on Travelzoo for dinner and wine for two featuring a glass of red or white, an appetizer, and entrée for $69 with the advertised regular price of $122. Portions were small, yet delicious. Service was just okay. When the bill came, an automatic 22% gratuity was added to the full price menu plus tax bringing our total amount to $130. We wouldnt' pay full price."

"I had a Travelzoo Voucher which included 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 glasses of house wine from a special menu. Service was great and they also had a live piano player in the dining room. My only complaint is that my braised short rib wasn't hot enough. The flavors were amazing, but it would have been better had it been hotter. Other then that, my friend and I had a great time. The waiter Jonathon was great. My friend was flirting with him and kinda being high maintenance. He took it all in stride and indulged her. Guy deserves a medal."

"We dine here occasionally before the Bay Area Cabaret shows when there is a special buffet reasonably priced at $40 per person. Offerings include a salad bar with extras like hearts of palm and candied walnuts, a tasty selection of cheeses and mini desserts plus a pasta station and several entrees including chicken, beef (short ribs this time) and seafood stew. Wine and mixed drinks are extra and there is a house wine available. The setting is lovely and elegant and it's an easy way to dine before the performance."

"The food was not worth top billing. It was good, but not to the point of the bill, even though it was 20% of the original value, including gratuity and sales tax, coming to a whopping $54. Our server had no motivation to serve us in a timely manner because his tip was assured. This was a shady deal and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone regardless of their level of purchasing power."

"I arrived at RSVP'd time & was seated promptly. The M'aitre D verified that my meal was via a discounted voucher, & grabbed the appropriate menu. Our meal included an appetizer, (soup or salad), 1 main course selection out of approx. 5, & a glass of house red or white wine. Our wait staff was kind enough, however the initial wine poured was honestly, very stringent, & less than any other glass being poured in plain view. When I joked about it being more like a taste, I was obliged with what was reasonable & consistent. As there were 2 of us, we had soup & a salad, - both bland & unremarkable. Entrees ordered were Braised Short Rib & Cod. The beef was dry & chewy; the fish was a child's sized portion. Thank fully we had a great waiter."
