Monsoon Asian Kitchen & Lounge
Monsoon, connoting seasonal weather changes across Asia, represents a wind of change in concept and menu for the Bohlsen family. It is the group’s first Asian restaurant and the sixth in its portfolio of leading Long Island restaurants. Monsoon bridges the gap between authentic Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai and what Long Islanders love most about modern Asian cuisine in a menu of exciting, explosively flavored food. "Had a wonderful Mothers Day. The food at Monsoon's is very flavorful and we look forward to our dinners there. Everything I have had there so far has been incredible. "I've been here several times now, the food and the service is consistently fabulous. It was the first time I tried the chicken chow mein, and all I can say I'm sorry I waited so long to try it. The pork belly app was fabulous, but I was slightly disappointed with the black pepper spare ribs as they were flavorless, and I couldnt taste or spot a single pepper grind. From what I understand the shaking beef is a signature dish, and my husband said it was the best beef dish he's had in years. The Singapore Sling cocktail was excellent, very tasty. We were seated in the 1st dining room off the bar area, and were alone in that room until we were halfway through with our entree's. Some may appreciate the privacy, not me. I felt somewhat cut off ."

"Overall the experience was a good one, going in to it we knew it was a pricey menu, but I didn't really find a reason for it. There was nothing unique about the food and the drink were VERY expensive. The staff was really nice and allow us to stay a bit longer than normal, especially for a Saturday, and are never rude or pushy."

"Monsoon is a great find on Long Island. As you walk in and see the exquisite detail of the decor, you are transformed to an exotic locale. The bar is warm and inviting. We were escorted to the upper level for our meal, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We were a party of five, but we had ample space between us and the adjoining tables. We were neither crowded nor rushed with our food choices. Our food by the way, from the calamari appetizers, to our entrees of garlic shrimp to spare ribs was tasty, and delectable. Some of my party were there for the first time, and they enjoyed themselves so much that they vowed to come back again. We truly had a wonderful time in this Asion-Fusion restaurant called Monsoon."

"This was my first visit and I was really impressed. The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and friendly. She made excellent recommendations. The food was outstanding. The menu had a wide variety of Asian dishes. Looking forward to going back to try different things!"

"The food here is pretty good, but tends to be on the salty side and is a bit overpriced for what is offered. The only thing that I do not mind paying for is their cowboy roll which is hands down my most favorite sushi roll I have ever had. Their sunset menu isn't too bad either, which is a 3 course price fix for $21, which I would recommend for those going for the first time. If your'e looking for a fun night on the town with friends this is a good place, but i wouldn't recommend this for a romantic date or something like that."

"Tried Monsoon during restaurant. We were very happy with the apps. They were large and delicious (Korean wings and Tuna roll). The apps were bigger than the main course. We ordered curry shrimp and Caramel Pork as entrees. The pork was kind of fatty and so thin cut it reminded me of scraps. My boyfriend did not like the shrimp, but maybe the curry was not to his taste. The ginger cheesecake was good. But the worst part was the waiter constantly trying to clear the table and rush us out. The food was definitely overpriced. It seemed like a trendy spot for the young."

"The noise level is deafening. You can not have a conversation at dinner and you can not hear a word the waiter or waitress is saying. The food is quite good, but I wont be having it ever again. We won't return."

"Too many hosts & hostess' roaming around aimlessly greet you when you come in.However once at the table excellent professional service, food was terrific. just portions were small.. did not understand why they suggest that dishes be shared, appetizers were three pcs or 4 pcs, dinner portions were the size of small appetizers and prices were NYC prices; very nice lounge atmosphere, bar was not packed (at 8:30 on a Friday night) which is not a good sign when 1/2 the place is a bar. There were available tables, did not seem to be a wait for a table, which is odd since on open table they were booked... but they may not put all their tables on open table. Would not go back or suggest it to friends as the price for the portion is not worth it"

"I was very disappointed with my evening at Mosoon. The place itself is very cool and hip. The food was below average at best. There was plenty of leftovers and we didn't bother taking them home. The scallops were awful. The shaking beef or whatever they call it was over cooked and contained way too many fatty pieces. The highlight of the evening was the fried rice."

"We live in the village and always wanted to check it out, on my wife's birthday we decided to go and was it worth it. From the moment you walked on the property to entering the lobby to being greeted with a smile. Out table was up top with a Birdseye view of the interior. Our waitress Deanna was fantastic and well versed with the menu. The food was fresh with distinctive flavors. She also gave us a great complimentery dessert with a birthday candle. We would highly recommend Monsoon !"

"I had the calamari appetizer and it was excellent, but it was lukewarm. I had the ginger shrimp entree and it was palatable but it was also lukewarm. My friend had the beef and she had to send it back because it was too tough. She replaced it with the cod and she said it was excellent, and it was the only item we received hot. The Pad Thai was basically tasteless, and it was also lukewarm. Once it got cold (just a few minutes later) it became a giant unseparable mass. Definitely not an Easter meal to remember."

"Girls night out and we had a great time. Drinks were good! Food was dellishious!! The hostess showed the three of us to a large round table to seat five. They had smaller, higher tables that seat four so I asked to change and they were very accommodating. We were upstairs and overlooked the bar area. Lovely restaurant!!"

"The first time my girlfriend and I had dinner at Monsoon in May 2012, we had an excellent experience. At the time of our visit, Monsoon was relatively new to the scene and garnishing quite a bit of buzz & hype - justifiably so. A lot has changed in a year.
1. The kobe was burnt, the duck was soggy, it took 45 mins from the end of apps to entree!
2. I made reservations in advance and they had a notification that we were return diners, yet another couple that came after us as a walk-in were seated on the ground floor immediately. My girlfriend and I were escorted upstairs to "Table 112". THIS WAS THE WORST TABLE IN THE RESTAURANT. I stared at a tiny corner of a wall while I ate. They made us feel inconsequential, and in my opinion, unwanted"

"We had a wonderful time at Monsoon. Our waitress was extremely knowledgable and friendly. I would highly recommend sharing several appetizers, to get the most tasting opportunity. The Rock Shrimp tempura was delicious, as was the shrimp pad thai. We went extremely early so the noise level was low but I have heard from friends that it can get fairly noisy later in the evening. Overall a clear winner."
