"We eat here at least once a month and love it. The service is fantastic and chef Angus' menu delights each time! The lovely, gracious Kate always ensures that things are as they should be. Our favs are the Pad Thai and the 8 spice fish. Love, love, LOVE!!"

"The couple we went with had been before, but we never have. I'm pregnant and have been craving starchy foods, so I was really looking forward to some pad thai (boring, I know). However, the other couple wanted the Chef's Menu because they did that last time and really enjoyed it. Even though the menu says that they "recommend" that everyone at the table order it, the waiter didn't let me opt out, but rather said he could work around my food restrictions. Only one dish was substited and it turned out I couldn't have that either. There was still plenty of food for me even though I couldn't have three of the dishes, and all the dishes were good, but I was still a little disappointed that I couldn't have what I wanted."

"The food at Maenam is exceptional, lots of wonderful flavours. Our drinks were extremely good as well, don't skip the cocktails! The Thai Sausage Salad was a real highlight and the 8 Spice Fish was our favourite plate of the meal. Our server was very good and made some helpful suggestions. Can't wait to go back to sample even more of the menu."

"The food really is excellent. Unique and tasty. We had the banana flower blossom salad - loved it. My usual is always papaya salad but this one is very good and different. Their soup is always full of flavor. The menu changes ever so often so we come in quite frequently to try them out.
While the food is good, the space is crammed. I wish they hadn't added those extra tables. The exhaust system in the space also was not strong enough. We smelled like fried food when we walked out. Place is very happening and bustling so not a great spot for conversations cus you would have to shout on top of your lungs even with person right across.
With food so good they really should have a bigger space. Other than that food and service are topnotc"

"Once again we had another fantastic dinner at Maenam, we fortunate to have a Thai restaurant of this caliber in Vancouver. The highlights of this meal were the fantastic Thai Sausage Salad and of course the Ling Cod, which is an exceptional dish. Our group started with a wonderful chicken soup which everyone enjoyed, the touch of heat was just right. The pad thai is excellent and the green curry halibut cheeks were a great contrast to the other flavours we enjoyed. Make sure to try the desserts, we shared the Panna Cotta and Pot de Creme and they were both excellent. Everything arrived at a good pace and our thanks to the servers for providing some information about each dish."

"Started dinner at Maenam with some of the best cocktails we've had (and we've had a few!) The food was all fresh, wonderfully seasoned and flavourful. We started with the nice crunchy Green Papaya salad and followed with the Crispy Lingcod, Pork Ribs and Pad Thai, all incredibly good. The room was busy but a very nice ambiance and we never felt rushed, our server was fantastic and explained each dish and ingredients. Our only regret was that we had no room left for dessert!"

"Well we had looked forward to coming here but unfortunately it wasn't a very enjoyable experience. Our night started out fine with a few drinks I had a beer and my wife had a cocktail. Our first course was fried oysters which both my wife and I thought were fine but didn't seem very Thai and weren't very exciting. Then we had the lingcod and pork curry for mains. What arrived was lingcod and their chicken curry which I'm guessing was supposed to be a massaman curry but none the less we didn't order the server was very good and said they would get the one we ordered out right away so he did. When the pork dish did arrive it was the most bland dish I've ever eaten. None of the food brought made me think of Thailand , been there 4 times"

"We went for our first time during Dine Out, and I was very disappointed, especially after reading all of the great reviews! We were only allowed to choose 4 things on their menu between the two of us, and the portion sizes hardly justified the total amount we ended up paying. I was still hungry at the end of the meal and ended up stopping at a takeout joint on our way home. The tables are too close together, and the air was so hot it was almost suffocating. The only good thing about Maenam were the servers. Very friendly and attentive. Based on that experience though, we won't be going back."

"The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. Although we knew our time was limited to 1.5 hours due to the Open Table demands, it did feel rushed as by the time we looked at the menu, discussed the parameters of what we could order, ordered drinks,and ordered food, it was at least 20 minutes into our reservation.I had been to the restaurant previously and found we easily utilized 2 hours for dinner.. not fast eaters."

"We went to Maenam for the first time and it happened to be for Dine Out Vancouver. The Dine Out menu selection of food was excellent! We had the chicken curry, fried ling cod, the chicken pomelo salad, and the chicken soup. All of the dishes were tasty and delicious and beautifully presented. The desserts were excellent too. We tried the chocolate mousse and the passion fruit ice-cream dish. Wow, the tart and sweet taste in the passion fruit dessert was exhilarating! The male server was very attentive, cheerful and friendly, and I'm sorry that I didn't get his name. We will definately return to Maenam for dinner and soon!"

"Surprised that we enjoyed this $28 dine out Vancouver choice more than the $38 ones we tried. Plenty of food choices, although portions were small. Excellent mix of flavours, although the pork belly dish was salty. Our server Robert should be commended for his good and attentive service. Also did not expect that they had good desserts as well."

"We really enjoyed our meal. The green papaya salad was spicy and the soup with chicken was excellent. For mains we had another couple of salads, 2 curries and 2 stirfrys all were very tasty. Everything had its own distinct flavor. The staff were very friendly and the service was goog even though it was a busy time. Would definitely go back again."

"WE went for Dine out and had a really lovely meal and an fantastic male waiter who was as good as it gets. The food is fusion thai and really delicious .... the cashew chicken was the very best we have ever had, thefried banana with homemade is cream and the pots of chocolate were wonderful. The mussels were good.... I would give the meet braised cheeks salad a pass. But all in all I would love to go back and as a foodie it was delicious."

"Maenam is far too pricey for the type of food it creates. The server was far too attentive - in an irritating way rather than a pleasant manner. She couldn't seem to refrain from constantly interrupting our conversation. What's worse is that she didn't seem to care that she was doing so! To end our dining experience, were given the bill while I was still sipping my wine - enough said. I go out for dinner at least twice per week and have never written a review, let alone a negative one."

"Service and food were awesome. I would only recommend they advise a little more about spiciness of certian items and if those could be adjusted. The halibut curry was truly unique and delicious. Will recommend to friends and periodically grab take out as well"

"Maename's dine out menu is a little different from others. You get to pick one starter, one salad, one curry and one stir fry to share between the 2 of you. But each of you will get a dessert for yourself. We picked the Green Papaya Salad with long beans and peanuts, Braised Pork Cheek Salad with longons and coconut milk, Panaeng Beef Curry, peanuts, Thai basil and 3 flavor fish. Green papaya salad was a little on the spicy side. Pork cheek salad was delicious. Beef curry was amazing. and the 3 flavor fish was quite tasty as well. For dessert we tried the Passionfruit Trio and Chocolate Pot de Creme with tamarind semi-fredo. Both of them are really well done and we enjoyed them."

"Great food, especially good for sharing as you get to try all the different dishes. However, the 1.5 hour dining limit made me felt very rushed throughout my dinner. I literally got the bill and had to leave within minutes after finishing my dessert."

"It was a very busy restaurant, the staff were able to keep up with the 'dine-out' crowd. We started with the steamed mussels which were delicious! Followed by Squid salad, Phanaeng curry beef, and chicken & cashew stir-fry. All the food was mild spice with the exception of the squid, which left my date feeling a little flush. I would highly recommend taking a date to this restaurant, or a small group of 4.
One more thing, they have delicious cocktails."
