"The pork medallions were tasty, a bit too much maple syrup flavoring. The flank steak and stir fry was served with mashed potatoes because they were out of rice. The bread was served with some kind of spread, not butter. Service was a tad slow for it not being a busy night."

"Stanford's is fine, and a decent value for most things. It's not as quiet as some would expect of restaurants of this type--closer to a family buffet level, maybe--but when you're looking for something around Northgate with decent quality and good variety, Stanford's is likely to fit."

"I've been to Stanford's many times, for both lunch and dinner, and have usually had a good experience. This time, I met a business contact for lunch and was embarrassed that I had selected this normally nice restaurant. Our service at noontime was appallingly slow; it took about 40 minutes for the uncomplicated entrees to surface (a salad and a club sandwich). There's no excuse for this slow service; the restaurant was busy but not all that busy. The waitress apologized and said there had been "a problem" that was unspecified; my guess is that they forgot or overlooked the order. My salad, a sort of Southwest chicken salad, was much smaller than usual; just a small mound of chopped lettuce and a few strips of chicken. Very disappointed."

"Went there on a weeknight for a birthday celebration. It was not busy. Food, service and ambiance were good. Bar is also nice. It seemed a little expensive for a chain, but I guess prices have gone up everywhere. They kindly provided a complimentary creme brulée with a candle for the birthday person without being asked, once they were told it was a birthday party."

"I ordered the pork medalions which were a bit overcooked but with the mustard and chutney I enjoyed it ok. was reminded I still hate brussel sprouts, but I didn't ask so that's on me. But one of my two friends did not like his meal. he ordered the fish and chips, which both of us have ordered before, and it was not up to snuff. the batter was not the light tempura-esque thing that was expected, it was overly heavy. and my friend also noted that the portion was noticably less than before. 2 small pieces when previously it was 3 large pieces. I guess he felt that $18.50 is a high price for a 2 piece fish and chips. I think I agree."

"We had a party of 8 for dinner and overall it was a good experience. The menu had sufficient variety to suit everyone and the food was well prepared. Service was great. The wines that were available by the glass are spendy and I would pass on those next time. I appreciate good wine but not with kind of markup. The side of seasonal roasted vegetables consisted primarily of brussel sprouts, diced carrots, and another diced root vegetable (turnip? rutabega?) Given that green beans, asparagus, brocoli etc are in season I would have expected something more like that on the menu for late March. I had wild salmon and the waiter advised in advance that they served it medium rare and it was perfectly done."

"Made a reservation for lunch to celebrate my father's 90th birthday and my daughter's 21st birthday. Made sure to tell them when I booked it. I also told the waiter when we were seated. Staff barely acknowledged the very reason we chose to eat out and to eat at Stanford's that day. They missed the opportunity to be great by not acknowledging what was important to the customer. Even some fake caring would have been nice. The waiter was good but seemed rushed on all fronts. I would not plan a special event there again."

"Great happy hour atmosphere as its lively and fun. Great service from the staff. The food itself is just OK. Mostly fried goods and standard fares. Nothing really stood out. Prices are also OK for happy hours as nothing is really "cheap". The day we went, all the fried food came out dark, they really need to change the fry oil as its really old."

"We were celebrating my daughter's birthday. We had two families with 4 children 8months 2, 2 1/2 and 5 years old. The waitress was quick to bring kid appetizers, grapes and bread immediately to the little ones, which they enjoyed very much. She also brought coloring sheets and colors which were great for the kids. The food was delicious, and everyone enjoyed their meals. Even though we weren't able to order mashed potatoes, the french fries and rice we ordered in lieu of that were delicious. The fries appeared to be freshly cut & fried and were delightful. The location is good for each of our families. We ate at Stanfords on Christmas Day eve, & the restaurant gave us a $20 gift card, we decided to use it for our birthday dinner."

"Went for Valentine's Day so of course it was packed and turning away attempted "walk ins". Despite being fully booked, was seated close to the reservation time. The staff, waitress in particular, was very attentive. Had a fabulous melted brie appetizer. Would go back and order three and just eat my way trough them.
The main courses were both very good and tasted great but some sides were a bit cool. Will give them some "slack" for the super busy night.

"i have been in the food service industry for over 25 years and this was the worst experience i have EVER HAD,We had reservations at 5pm on Valentines day.we sat for 10 minutes before someone came and asked if we have been helped and we said no then the waiter came and asked if we needed a drink and finally got our drinks, 5 minutes later he took our order,we ordered,then waited almost an hour for the food.I ordered a steak VERY well done and when it finally came there was blood from the steak on the plate and I cut into it and it was completely pink internally so I reminded the waiter that I ordered it well done, he took it back.meanwhile my husband ate valentines dinner alone.1st time ever being at this restaurant and will not recommend it"

"Stanford's was a nice change of pace on a Friday night. The food was very flavorful and nicely presented. We shared three appetizers, which were plentiful. The wings (which I am not a fan of) came in 3 sauces, honey lemon, bbq and hot wings. I did try the lemon wings and was impressed by the flavors. The onion rings had huge slices of onion and were truly the nicest rings I’ve had in a long time. My selection was the roasted artichoke with aioli sauce – it was divine. I skipped the dinner selection as the appetizers were large and I was savoring my artichoke but my friends said their pizza and salad were great. The portions are large! The wait staff was excellent."

"I love coming here for a few reasons. The restaurant has a great rewards program that you can use at many different chains nation wide. The others are its close to my house, but they also have great food. They have everything from steaks, bbq, pastas and salads. They also have a great wine and bar menu. The prices are also very reasonable for all the great food you get."

"Every time we have visited, the food has been great! We had three 4 children with us, and part of our party was late for our reservation. The staff was accommodating, and helpful, nevertheless. We found it difficult to hear because the restaurant was crowded and noisy, and we were seated near a main aisle. The waitress was very busy that night, and allowed us to take all of the time we needed. She brought snacks to the children to keep them content, and the kids menus were great! It was a relaxing evening for all of us."

"I reserved a table for my fiance and I, only slightly before heading out to dine, and got a great, quiet spot for a romantic dinner. Hostess was awesome and gracious, food was absolutely delicious, and our excellent server finished by saying, "It was a great pleasure to have served you this evening". Wow... It hasn't been this good in recent years, but something, or everything, seems to have changed for the better. Thank you, Standford's, for an outstanding meal and a very special dining experience!
