Nestled on the Upper West Side, Turkuaz is a fusion between authentic Turkish cuisine and Mediterranean flavors, served in an ethnic ambiance.
Turkuaz opened in the fall of 2000 with a vision of creating Upper West Side's finest authentic Turkish cuisine experience. Ever since, our unique decor and friendly servers have hosted many pleasant evenings, lunches and brunches.
Turkuaz is as close as you can get to an escape.
"The food and wine were excellent and the recommendations by the server spot on. We were celebrating our anniversary, and the restaurant accommodated one of our requests. Fantastic Turkish ambience. Professional service. I look forward to going again."

"Reliably good food, excellent friendly service, and on Friday and Saturday night you get to enjoy the belly dancer. Fun place for groups. Amazing Sunday brunch."

"Food is delicious; meals are leisurely. I love how spacious this restaurant is, which is very unusual in Manhattan. My only complaint is that it's too dark--it's even hard to read the menu."

"First visit, on Valentine's Day. Got quite busy by 8 pm, but the staff did a good job of keeping up. The food was excellent, portions more than adequate, and prices moderate. The Baklava was "the best ever", according to my fiance who has much Turkish restaurant experience."

"We had two very enjoyable meals at Turkauz in the last month. Both times the food and service were first rate. The food is well prepared and delicious. We loved being able converse without shouting. Even when the restaurant was full it was not noisy. We were there initially as a party of 12 and everyone enjoyed the food, atmosphere- the entire experience of dining at Turkauz. We returned with two friends and it was equally delightful."

"Turkuaz is one of the best Turkish restaurants in New York CIty. Everything is delicious, from their home-made bread as the appetizer, to the Turkish wines, to the main courses and the deserts. On weekday nights, its cozy and quite environment is perfect for a date, and on weekend nights, its energetic crowd and the belly dancing add up to a great night that would feel like a short trip to Istanbul."

"Turkuaz has a very cool room decorated with silk banners and soft lighting. There's a private room in the back for parties. The tables are nicely spaced and the room is relatively intimate. The food is fantastic, and a great value - the portions are generous. Two appetizers would easily have fed four people for a first course, but since there were only two of us it meant that we ended up taking some of our two entrees home. Service was attentive without being overbearing. The Turkish wine was delicious, and well-matched to the food. Overall I thought Turkuaz was an outstanding experience."

"We've walked past this place for years but never stopped in until we were looking for a restaurant in between our apartment and that of our friends. What a surprise! The selection of appetizers was enormous and the portions were more than ample, as were the drinks. Many main courses to choose from with meat, fish, and vegetarian options. Unbeknownst to us there was a belly dancer who performs on weekends. She was great! We will definitely return."
