DiNardo’s is the place to have your shell-cracking, claw-sucking, crab-eating feast. Steamed Louisiana crabs are served “hot and dirty” (known as Baltimore style), and other seafood specialties such as jumbo shrimp, fresh stuffed flounder, steamed mussels, and clams. Chicken, steaks, and pasta also are served.

"There were NO CRABS and no one told us that until after we were seated and our drinks were served. We ended up having King Crab and Seafood Imperial which was good but a whole lot more expensive than we planned. It was a totally differnet dining experience than we planned. Lesson learned - call in advance and ask if they actually have crabs before paying for parking and walking in the door."

"We were unimpressed with the restaurant. The food was just OK. We did not get the crabs so maybe that was the problem. We ordered the seafood imperial which was very fishy (in a bad way) despite having no fish in it. Tasted as if the shellfish was starting to go bad so it was put into the casserole instead of being served in it's regular form.

Had no problem with the casual atmosphere. We were just expecting the food to be better."

"Was somewhat disappointed. Casual Dining as they are listed to me means business casual, not jeans. and any establishment that allows men to were hats while dining will NEVER get my business again. That is unacceptable. Also, I drink Non-Alcholic beer and they had run out. I don't understand how you can run out, again, unacceptable."

"Seafood is on par with a lower tier chain, at best. Wasn't even crowed but service was painfully slow and, most frustrating, they included a service charge of 20% for a party of only three.

They claim to have won several Best of Philly Awards - unfortunately, ancient history"

"I'm not sure what all the hype is about. The food wasn't bad but it also wasn't great. Portion sizes were very good. The place is super loud and service was just ok. I don't like waiting almost an hour for my food especially when the place isn't packed and I'm not getting anything that takes much work. I'm glad we tried it but we'll never go back."

"I have been one of the biggest fan's of the Chart house restaurant. Now I am an even bigger fan of the DiNardo's and a customer for life. This is the type of place that you put on your comfortable jeans and sweat shirt for a good evening of eating. The food came out hot and it was outstanding! The all of the wait staff greated you as you entered and my waitress smiled through out the evening. Bravo DiNardo's I look forward to my next dinning opportunity at your wonderful restaurant. I will be back sooner then later!!! Oh, by the way the check was just right at the end of the evening : )"

"I made a 7:30pm Sat evening reservation for 2 on the weekend of Valentine's Day. I was sat in the back room - all tables, mostly filled with families (kids). I guess I would have expected such if I was a walk-in, but I was a bit disappointed to not be put in a booth with the other adults in the front. The first two martinis were terrible - we told the waitress and she told my boyfriend it's because he ordered a girlie drink. (!) The salmon was fishy. Dessert was fine. The appetizer was so-so. I had chosen this restaurant because we moved houses that day and I knew it was low key (jeans etc) - but you need to think DINER low key with center city prices."

"If you want crabs and beer, this is the place for you. Fine dining seafood it is not. Seating is spread out, so you are not dining with strangers. Service was attentive without hovering. Would definitely go back with either my wife or a group of friends."

"The restaurant atmosphere reminded me of a Jersey Shore family seafood restaurant, with great fried seafood, crabs, and crab fries, but it also featured bad side salads and veggies with your seafood sauce in plastic cups. The ambience included plastic-topped tables, some booth seating, wobbly chairs, a fair amount of noise, and while service was good, they featured diner-like waitresses who you would expect to call you "honey". Disappointing choice if you want a romantic setting, but if you're looking for an off-season seafood fest, you're in the right place!"

"My wife and I were 1st timers to the restaurant. The food was pretty good and we had a pretty good server. Although it is a downtown spot my only problem is I do not feel like I got my money's worth. We both ordered the crabcake, which comes with one decent sized crabcake and french fries. For $25 a pop I was expecting alittle more"

"I took my daughter & her best friend to celebrate their 18th birthdays and DiNardos' didn't dissappoint. The food and service were wonderful! The table was a bit small & the food came out too fast, the courses were all on the table at the same time. However, the food was DE-LISH!!!"

"I was disappointed with the quality of the food. I had triple pan seared crab cakes - they appeared to be mostly filler, the crab-corn chowder was very thick - mostly thickened with corn starch/flour. It didn't meet the hopes and expectations I had for the 20+ years I've lived in Philadelphia. I opted for the $35 prix-fixe dinner - wasn't worth 1/2 the price!"

"I went to Dinardos and loved everything about it. It was my first time there and I will gladly go back for round 2. I ordered the surf & turf and couldn't have asked for a better cooked steak. "It was a nice place. My husband and I really enjoyed it. The food he had was great from what I tasted but he said it was just ok. My crabs were not hot like I thought they would have been since we were at a resturant. And my mussels were a little salty. But all and all it was ok. The family atmosphere was great. The waiters were very friendly."

"I didnt like the fact that 12 of my guest was waiting to be seated until the rest of the party got there. Okay like the reservation was made of 14 people and we had to wait. We even went over the number to 16 people at the table. I hated the fact that the parking coupon was for 1 car per table. For such a size party for my birthday there was no free slice of cake, knowone sang happy birthday, not even a balloon on a chair. Should have chose Red Lobster somewhere less pricey that appreciate your business."

"I was not at all impressed with DiNardo's. I had heard so many rave reviews about the restaurant and it's food was utterly dissapointed. I ordered the sauteed crabs. The crabs were so tiny, that I only ate one, because after taking the time to open the crab, there was really no meat inside, and it felt like I was wasting time and only making a big mess! The acoholic beverages are overpriced! $8.50 for an Amaretto Sour!!! Not to mention the hostess wouldn't seat the 3 of us, until the other 2 people in our party arrived! Overall, my experience @ DiNardo's was NOT a good one, and I will never return. I do want to send a special Thank You to the bartender. I was not happy with the taste of my first drink, and he gladly made me a new drink, TY!"

"I expected more from this restaurant. I believe at one time it probably was a good place for seafood but not anymore. Very casual ambience. I would not order anything but seafood such as the crab legs or just a regular fish dish. I ordered penne pasta with crab meat the pasta was watered down and the marina sauce was horrible. I rarely send food back to the chef but this dish was just not good. If your looking for somewhere to go if you are in the area and your hungry I would say go there but I am in no rush to come back to DiNardo's."

"DiNardo's is the only place I go for crabs. I ordered the extra jumbo - the most expensive crabs available, and they were fair at best. They weren't hot and they weren't that tasty. I have ordered smaller crabs in the past, and the smaller size were larger than these were."

"We were pleased that the restaurant was able to accommodate us earlier than time expected. The service was good. The food was good but I wouldn't say it was overwhelmingly great. When I had ordered an appetizer for snow crab claws, I think the restaurant needs to clarify that they were from the dungess crab and not snow crab claw....I was a bit disappointed with upon seeing the different type of claw and not expecting it the snow crab. Also the bloody mary was rather salty, as if they poured the whole container of salt but the waitress was very nice and exchanged for a different drink and didn't charge us. All in all, I think I have been to better seafood places for the same price....don't think I would return! Glad I tried it though!"

"Had a very nice DiNardo's experience for lunch while in Old City for a continuing ed seminar at the Holiday Inn. It was a short walk on a cold day for outstanding crab bisque, thick and hearty and seafood combination. My associate had oyster stew and crab cake platter which she seemed to enjoy very much. The service was excellent and meal was a great value."

"We have been going to Dinardo's for years. We travel about an hour to get there from South Jersey. Love the crabs, clam strips and cold beer, we never need to look at the menu we know exactly what we want. Waitress's and bartender are always awesome. This was the first time we went there on New Year's Eve and it was great. A new tradition that we will continue to do along with all of our trips there throughout the year. "I ordered the Alaskan King Crab legs, and they were a huge disappointment. They are an expensive item on the menu. This was New Year's Eve's dinner (8:45 PM reservations but not crowded). The Alaskan King Crab Legs were - how do I describe not being a food critic and writing my first restaurant review ever - dry...stringy...not juicy. There are a couple of dishes that I order frequently and thereby make my own restaurant comparisons. One of those dishes is Alaskan King Crab legs. They were the worst I have ever had. I would never go back there for this item. Also, coleslaw was served in a small plastic cup. How miserly!! A tremendous disappointment for a seafood restaurant that may have in the past received "Best of Philly" honors."

"I've been hitting this spot every year or so for the past decade, and I can't think of a spot that is more dependable and fun to visit, whether you're dining out as a local, bringing friends from out of town or giving it a shot during a visit. "My Husband and I brought our favorite midshipman (my son) to DiNardos after the Army -Navy gamefor a nice dinner. We have been to DiNardos many time our the years ,and it is always a great time. "Let me start by saying the crabs were GREAT! My husband and I dined with our two young children (ages 3 & 5) and the staff welcomed our family and were very accommodating. I ordered milk for the children to drink and the waitress stated if they didn't have any, they would send someone to the store to buy some. We ordered 2 appetizers which are individual serving size (not large enough to share), a $28 bottle of wine, two extra large steamed crabs (no sides included) and the kids split an adult entree. The bill was well over $100 and we all walked away a little hungry. The food was excellent, but a little pricey for the portions."
