"Great waiter Chris took excellent care of myself & my overly pregnant wife. Good wine selection, decent bread could use improvement. I asked about the New York strip, Chris said it was excellent. Food took quite a while to come out, but ambiance and drink service accommodated. Outside slice of NY strip (medium rare) was grissly & decided not to let it go down the hatch. Resorted to a middle cut---same deal....good flavor w/ poor quality of meat. Set it aside. Other staff recognized my subtle discontent & quickly scooped it away & brought me a recommendation. Wife had triple tail---she was very satisfied w/ the flavor, texture, & prep. Great experience---just a hiccup on the steak---never know might be different next time."

"I invited a client for dinner here and had a very nice time. We had the dumplings and the smoked potatoes as appetizers and enjoyed them very much. I had the lamb tenderloin which was cooked perfectly. The space has a good feel to it; very nice design but not overdone like some. Fits into the theme of the neighborhood. My only complaint and this is pushing it is that our waiter left us alone for way too long at first (we were talking business) and she got a little defensive when we had to ask her to take our order. Other than that one little thing, it was great."

"We read the reviews and had high hopes for the food. Unfortunately the expectations were to high and the food was not good. The Red Snapper was delivered over cooked which seems to be a consistent problem. The chicken dish had no flavor and the side sausage was nearly inedible. The wine prices at $14-$20 a glass are just not realistic for the quality of wine served. Better to save your money and go to another restaurant.
I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend."

"The food at FT33 is always interesting, always good and sometimes superb. This last experience was just that - superb. The most delectable pork in a loose pasta (kinda like a ravioli, but not closed. Perfect texture.... Then the charcuterie. The chef makes the most amazing charcuterie. Beautifully balanced. Some challenges, but well worth trying.
There isn't a lot of point in describing every dish because the menu changes often. I love that - local, seasonal, fresh, rare. Great combo."

"I atteneded a conference in Dallas and ate at many of the city's finest restaurants (Fearing's, The Mansion on Turtle Creek, Oak, Dallas Chop House, etc..) The meal at FT33 was the best I had! The food was exceptional and the service spot on. Our waitress had a true passion for the restaurant and was knowledgable about not only the menu but wine pairings as well. As a special treat (as a foodie myself) we sat at the Chef's table and were wowed by what we saw in the kitchen. Do not miss the restaurant if you are traveling to Dallas. And if you live there... what are you wiating for?"

"if one could frequent this Restaurant weekly, heaven might be a little closer. I was just Visiting Dallas.
With over 38k+ Open table points , I Dine Frequently ... I have a New Expectation and love for the Restaurant., FT33 .
The wine list is stacked with perfection in Variety and selection. The food was out of this world, from balance, ingredients, nutrition, preparation, display, portion, Taste, Sources. .. All Perfect 10 out of 10.
The atmosphere was beautiful, Clean, fresh, Punctilious and Extremely welcoming. Would be a pleasure to Share and introduce FT33 to others. .
I would even consider returning to Dallas just to Experience this Restaurant again. Well Done.

"We had a phenomenal experience at FT33. Went on a Thursday night. Restaurant was crowded, but my wife and I got a high table overlooking the kitchen, which was fabulous. The wine list quickly impressed -- it's not a library, but the bottles featured are tough to find anywhere in Dallas and priced reasonably. Napa cabernets are featured quite well. The crudo appetizer was a flavor explosion; very bright and delicious. My wife's lamb tenderloin was outstanding; a beautiful and tasty dish. My short rib was very good as well. The presentation of the food is marvelous. And don't miss the $20 shake for dessert. FT33 jumped right to the top of our list of favorite Dallas restaurants."

"There was so much to like at FT33, I'm inclined to overlook the most glaring defect: a 1.5 hour wait for our entrees due to a backup in the kitchen that night. To make up for the wait, the manager gave us a card good for two free entrees on our next visit. Nice. This place is hopping: even though we were on time for our reservation, we still had to wait to be seated. Once seated, though, we had a great waiter who seemed to enjoy his job. The charcuterie board had a variety of selections, all of which were excellent; it's a great way to start a meal at FT33 as it is not too heavy and also not too light. Her 3rd coast catch was wonderful, with a great balance of flavors. My lamb was excellent; the only thing I could have wanted is more of it."

"We had a group of five people and tried a bunch of different things. Those ranged from out of this world (duck ham) to okay but not great (lamb tongue), but most of the items were exceptional. The chef came over and talked to us a while, and the open kitchen allows you to watch him and his team at work. You can tell he takes his craft very seriously. I eat out with clients at least twice a week, and this was one of the best dining experiences I have had in quite some time."

"Friends and I enjoyed our first experience eating at FT33. In spite of it being a Tuesday night, the restaurant was full, yet the service was spectacular. We especially enjoyed sitting very near the kitchen and watching our food being prepared. Everything we had was excellent, but the lamb loin dish with fresh peas was the best I've had anywhere. "Wonderful to find FT33 in our first week in Dallas having moved from from San Francisco. A select but varied menu complemented by a most interesting wine menu and knowledgable service. FT33 has the look, feel and culinary chops of many of the top new restaurants in San Francisco's vibrant Mission District but with none of the sometimes overly hip attitude. Loved the focus on truly seasonal and local produce in most of their dishes."

"This was the best meal in Dallas we have had in a very long time. Every morsel of food was delicious including the beet/strawberry salad, the smoked potatoes, the copia crudo, and the strawberry shortcake. It was all interesting, unique and bursting with various flavors. Not your typical Friday night meal. The wine list was interesting and the service was spot on (Kevin was a winner). The ambiance has a cool, urban, industrial vibe, but still comes off as warm and comfortable. No pretensions here. Reminds me of a restaurant in San Diego called Seersucker if anyone is familiar. Bottom line - loved it and will go back."

"The food was excellent, but the experience was ultimately disappointing. Server was surprisingly inattentive despite having only 3 tables during weekend night rush. Appetizers were exorbitantly priced and the server upsold us on buying two based upon portion size though, once they came out, one would have easily been plenty. Sitting at the chef's table is a neat experience, but without that I can't help but feel that my impression that this place is not really worth it would have been exacerbated. All told, I get why people say the food is excellent because it is. Full marks there. But lots of places have good food. With all the other good options out there, FT 33 didn't positively distinguish itself. I doubt I'll be back."

"The waitstaff are friendly and knowledgeable and their backup are attentive. The preparations are unique and creative, but never overreach. The most difficult part is having to make a single selection of starter and entree, so I strongly recommend going with friends that like to share. The three of us split three appetizers, two entrees, and two deserts, with well selected wine parings for the lot. Everything was prepared and presented with that in mind. Even the lowly pana cotta is transformed by this kitchen to a remarkable new level. The food is excellent. If there is one criticism, it is not with the food or service, but with the acoustics. The main dining area could do with a bit of treatment to tame the din from an enthused crowd."

"My wife and I went for our anniversary. We were greeted with glasses of champagne and seated at the chef's table. The bartender made a special drink for my wife. The valet remembered my name and had our car ready as we exited. They went above and beyond to make it a special evening. And the food was excellent. The servers were attentive, but did not do the best job explaining the menu. We were there for the first seating, so the ambiance went from quiet to energetic--but not noisy. Sitting at the chef's table was certainly a great foodie experience."

"I must say this restaurant was a bit of a dichotomy for us. We love Oak - so I think we might have been holding FT33 to that standard as they are right around the corner from each other and have a lot of similarities. The similarities ended there. The service at FT33 was mediocre at best - other then a great similar who recommended a great bottle of Italian wine for us. By the way - wine list here is very interesting and a highlight. The menu is very limited. On this night there were 5 or 6 beginners and 5 or 6 entrees to choose from. There was only one fish option and the rest of the options were meat. No vegetarian options to choose from. Perhaps my expectations were too high - but they were in no way exceeded."

"Food was decent but pretty expensive, especially given their very small portions. I think we ended up paying $140 before tip for 2 appetizers, 2 entres and a shared desert (and a drink each). Not horribly expensive, but the portions were very small.
The menu is relatively limited menu, but it has a bit of everything. It's extremely loud in there- I could barely hear my date sitting next to me. Not bad, but I'd suggest Oak over this place and Acme F&B as a more economical alternative."

"Went with 2 other guests. Started off with the charcuterie plate, once we got it (after about 25 min.) it was tasty. There was another 30 min. wait to receive our entrees. 2 of us, including me, had the 3rd coast catch (red fish). When it arrived at the table the fish and sauce were all pushed to the top edge of the plate leaving the bottom half of the plate bare (not sure if this is the "new way" of presenting food)but thought it was a little odd. The fish was cooked perfectly and the dish had great flavor. Another guest had the lamb and said it was overcooked and on the dry side. This restaurant has received a lot of positive press but to us it is not a place we would go back. Too many other better choices in town with better service."

"This is for serious food people. If you are meat and potatoes, always need a wedge salad on the menu, do NOT go here. If, however, you want a well priced, interesting wine list, non-pretensious staff, and, most importantly a Chef who treats food as art, music, poetry AND nourishment all at the same time, then make a reservation and bring an open mind. The combinations of flavors and textures are amazing and Matt has an eye for detail, both in the plating and the cooking. The staff are helpful and smooth without hovering. The decor is both industrial loft/ warm wood, not stuffy, not your grandma's restaurant."

"Like many of the reviewers here - I found the food to be fantastic.
The reason I gave it 2 starts instead of 4 is frankly the lack of value:
I ate alone at the bar and spend $72 before tip on 3 appetizers; 2 cocktails; and a dessert.

I'm not saying don't dine here - just "buyer be aware" of what you're getting yourself into..."

"Arrived early for our 9pm reservation. Had a couple of drinks at the bar and were promptly seated at 9pm. Unfortunately not really much of a bar area, but we were fortunate to get a couple of seats. The smoked potato app was excellent, the flavors went together nicely. I had the duck entree which had excellent flavors, was nicely prepared and presented. My husband had the lamb chops which were fabulous. Wish I had room for dessert, which seemed to be quite popular there. Although the seating is somewhat tight, I felt like our table had privacy. Even though it was kind of loud, conversation was easily heard. Service was attentive. Really appreciated the waitstaff for describing the dish when it arrived at the table."
