15 Point Road, A special treat in Portsmouth Rhode Island along the Sakonnet River. Busy, but not crowded, with an enchanting moonlit river view. A traditional menu pleases most everyone and house specialties are an ever-changing eclectic delight of innovative and contemporary dishes. When one walks up to the doorway, the bed of fresh growing herbs just off the deck will give you hints of the treats that await. Once inside you will be entranced by the view of the Sakonnet River which leads out to the ocean beyond through the panorama of windows. Across the river you will occasionally notice the local fishing boats as they make their way to the Tiverton fish market. If you"re lucky enough, you might even catch one of the local lobstermen heading out to tend his lobster traps in Mount Hope Bay!
"Went to 15 Point Road after all the great reviews here, as well as being diners choices for several things, including best scenic view. Best scenic view?! Yes, it is on the water, but it is at the end of the water, and at the end, there is a messy concrete strip with weeds and grass growing out high, along with dumpsters; someone really needs to clean the area. We loved the appetizers and dessert, but the main entrees left much to be desired. Service was ok as well; even though there were many waitstaff, there was only one host, which led to a lot of parties having to wait to be seated until he was back from seating other parties or doing something else"

"Went here with my wife for a date night without the kids. I was hoping for a quiet, romantic night. It was very loud. Tables were close together and thier was an ugly pier that was not included in the photos ( for obvious reasons ). If you took out the pier the were a few good views. Staff was friendly."

"We loved the beautiful water view, as the sunset cast its golden glow. Staff was wonderful; fast, efficient, very very friendly, and made our dining experience superb! Unfortunately, our scrod was a bit dry, and could have used more sauce- and the baked potatoes overbaked. Disappointed in this part of the dinner. Everything else was delightful."

"Our party of four enjoyed our meal thoroughly. The pan seared scallops with mushroom rissotto were a hit as were the Chilean Sea Bass and the King & Prince (Lobster meat, spinach & medallions of milk-fed veal in a sherry cream sauce over fettuccini. 2 of the members in our party were dining here for the 1st time. Everyone loved the chocolate lava cake and beignets. Service was well-timed and friendly,"

"My boyfriend and I came here for dinner and ordered off the restaurant week menu. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The food was delicious. My only complaint was that the dinner felt rushed. Our courses came out pretty quickly after one another and I felt like in doing so they were trying to turn tables over as fast as they could. I think if the courses were paced with more time in between I wouldn't have felt so rushed. Other than that the location was easy to find, parking can be found on street, and it has wonderful water views."

"We went during Newport Restaurant Week and all of us were actually surprised that we all enjoyed all our entrees. For such a small dining area the noise level was not intrusive at all. Our primary waitperson, Julie, did an incredible job!"

"We went for Newport Restaurant Week. Great deal for great food! Waited too long to call for a reservation, so we sat a bit later than we usually like to, and got there after the sun set, so didn't get to take advantage of the great water view. This place is right on the water and is charming! The staff couldn't have been nicer, from the host who greeted us at the door, to the bartender (we got there early enough to get a drink at the bar while waiting for our reservation time) and the server who waited on us at our table were all very professional. The food was delicious! We'll definitely be back."

"The food and the waitress were exceptional. The fixed price menu is exceptional with the fact that it's only $19 with salad, entree and desert. In the summer they have a patio with a view of the river. Best place to go for any occasion."

"My family has been dining here on a regular basis since the restaurant first opened in the '90s. The new (last few years) owners really go out of their way to welcome us at the door and thank us when departing. This is the best value meal anywhere within 25 miles of Newport--salad, rolls, entree, rice or potato, side veggies, all for $16-$30. Portions are just right; you won't leave hungry. Nice selecting of New England favorites, seafood and meat with some "new" styles. I had the stuffed baked lobster special and Mom had her favorite stuffed scrod. We always ask for a booth, since it's more comfortable for Mom (92 years old). Parking is tight; check signs if you park on the street."

"We have not had a bad meal yet! Started with the crispy calimari & it was very nice. Garlic aioli was addictive & a great compliment to the dish. We both had the prime rib for dinner & I must say that it is the best that we have ever had. We will be back soon!"

"We have been to 15 Point Rd. many times before but this past Thursday night we didn't feel that the food was as good as on other visits. We had Calamari as an appetizer and it tasted overdone and crunchy with an "old" olive oil taste to it. Also, it looked like they used maybe a medium sized shrimp for the Baked Stuffed Shrimp. The shrimp were small and the stuffing was on the greasy side.As I said, the food at previous meals was always very good and we will try 15 Point Rd again - hope that it was just a bad night."

"We both tried new entrees (steak au poivre) and (mount hope). Both dishes were tasty and lived up to this restaurant's consistency in preparation. Our dining companions (who dined here for the first time) will definitely be back. The sea bass and deconstructed filet mignon with puff pastry were great."

"Never had a bad meal in 20 years...most of the time it is exceptional. Quiet and intimate, a great place for special occasions. Sean is working hard to understand his customers and provide what they want...so far, so good! The menu is constantly changing and I'm always excited to try new things...this time I had the lobster scampi...not bad!"

"This was our first visit to 15 Point Road. It is an outstanding restaurant and now a definite favorite of ours. The food was spectacular. We had two of the specials that evening and can't wait to go back to try items on the menu that caught our attention. Our waitress was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. The view from our table near the window was beautiful as we watched the sun set. We will definitely recommend 15 Point Road to friends and family. 15 Point Road gets an A+ for every aspect of our dining experience from the beautiful restaurant itself, to the hostess who seated us, the food, the wait staff, and the service."

"It was our first time there and we enjoyed if from the moment we entered. The staff was friendly, the decor was bright and fresh and the view was great (there are some dumpsters below from the marina but look beyond that). We had Fish and Chip- the batter was light not greasy and Seafood Casserole- the philo dough was flakey and the casserole was full of large pieces of fish and lobster not broth, the key lime pie was to die for!"

"Really worth the trip to 15 Point. In the middle of winter, on a Sunday, the restaurant was packed. Speaks to the quality of the food, the ambiance and the loyalty both create. Super pleasant surprise and definitely head back there again. Mussels & calamari starters are both well executed in both cooking and flavor. Entrees are interesting in that they elevate comfort food into the foodie zone. Desserts are also nicely presented and executed well. Service was unobtrusive but efficient."

"The food was excellent! I had the baked, sstuffed half-lobster. Kudos to the chef.
Parties of 6 or more may elect to dine upstairs. The magnificient view of the water is blocked, but the room is quiet.
White linens, flowers and candles decorated the tables. Very nice and appreciated!
My only disappointment was the service. It was OK, but not great. I am assuming the youngest member of the service staff was elected to go up and down the stairs, thus she wasn't visible and there was no way of contacting her. May I suggest to the owwner that a small buzzer be installed.
With the excellent food and the dynamic view I highly recommend the downstairs dining!"
