"The corn crab chowder was exceptional, as were the desserts. I had the crab cake and petite filet, the filet was a bit chewy, but over all an excellent dinner. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone."

"The food was excellent, the service was very good, insanely good desserts, an I te resting choice of beer and wines. If it were a stand-alone establishment it could be fine dining, the food and service definitely qualify, it's in a strip mall and that holds it back from being a romantic or special occasions place, the prices are fine dining prices so be aware. It's really the location that holds the rating down a little. Great food great service, I highly recommend."

"Food was very good. I had Chilean Sea Bass that would melt in your mouth. My husband has a strip steak that was good but not quite the quality that he expected.
Service was surprisingly slow. We had our first course before we got our drinks. When we were done with dinner, the waiter didn't offer dessert just asked if he could do anything else for us. He brought a tray after we asked about dessert but never offered coffee.
This was just not the type of service we expected from what seems to be a high end restaurant."

"Great, friendly, delicious, outstanding service, the staff was all there to pay attention to and to take care of us! We really felt like honored guests. Add to that, everything we tasted was just wonderful.

"Great find for us after years of heading towards DC for a nice restaurant -- at last a place in the suburbs (Springfield, no less) that compares favorably with the best dining we've had anywhere in the country (and we've traveled all over). Brought a large group of colleagues here the other night -- all of them expense-account jaded execs -- and there was uniform agreement that Monty's was a terrific meal and great experience overall. Donna and her brother (the owners), our server Ricardo, the whole team worked smoothly together to guarantee we'll all be back again soon. Monty's has a friendly, informal neighborhood vibe and is located in an unprepossessing strip mall --which makes its superb food and presentation all the more satisfying."

"Monty's is a breath of fresh air in this part of Virginia. We have only one other restaurant near us where you feel like the food is fantastic, reasonably priced and a special night out. "Friends who live close have taken us to Monty's twice, but we were in the vicinity Saturday afternoon and chose to stop for a late lunch. Amazingly different and nice lunch menu. Significant choice of appetizers, many seafood focused. Sandwiches were diverse and soups sounded super. The best news: It's quiet and relaxed despite the hustle and bustle of the expansive strip mall location on a Saturday afternoon. And, the service was superb. It's a long trip for us to have lunch, but when we're in the neighborhood, count on us to return; there's a lot we didn't try that sounds like delish!"

"This was the second time we visited Monty's and it continues to be outstanding. Located in a strip mall you would not expect 5 star food and service....but here it is. The owners are very involved and kept visiting our table checking on everything. Portions are generous. We suggest making reservations otherwise there might be a slight wait for a table. This is our new favorite place. We will be back often."

"Monty's is a resturant trying to shine, but still requires some polish. Let's start with the positives: Monty's specializes in aged beef and you'll be pressed to find a better steak anywhere...my filet was excellet and cooked to a perfect medium-rare. The service was attentive, but not overbearing. On the down side, several dishes suffer from ingredient overkill and presentation issues. We began our meal with the "shrimpcargot" smothered in a precipitous pile of cheese, ala TGI Friday's. My wife's rockfish sufferred from a similar ailment, arriving as an indistiguishable pile of ingredients. Finally, do something about that front window!! Part of my dining experience shouldn't be the hussle n bussle of the strip mall parking lot."

"Monty's Steakhouse in Springfield's Old Keene Mill Shopping Center is a great find! This is the spot your want to make your neighborhood go-to steak house. The steaks are well-prepared, the plating is beautiful, the sides - especially their twice-baked potato are absolutely delicious and the staff is well-trained, professional and "on it"! Monty's owners are always on site, attending to every guest need and ensuring you have a wonderful meal. The ambiance surprises you being within a shopping center -- it is elegant and chic, yet relaxed. The chef changes his specials regularly - every time we come he has another great entree selection using seasonal produce. This is an experience you expect to get in Tyson's or DC, but, it's in Springfield"

"Dined with my wife at Monty's on 3/16/2013. Beautiful decor; upscale, but not stuffy. Crab Bisque and Corn and Crab Chowder were delicious. The Petite Filet came topped with a Bearnaise sauce (as advertised) that was tasty, but I thought it covered the natural taste of the excellent beef -- does good filet really need a sauce? Steak Salad was excellent. . . the steak on it was plentiful and much better than normal for a salad; consider ordering dressing on side. Steak salad big enough to split if not too hungry. Gorgeous desserts. Bottom Line: this restaurant is just what Burke/West Springfield needs; strip mall location disguises what is really a beautiful, high class dining experience. $100 for two with wine and one dessert."

"We were celebrating a friend's birthday. The service was amazing from the front door to the table. The food and wine were outstanding! There were a nice array of choices for dessert and our waiter, surprised us with a complimentary birthday sweet for our friend.
