"They offer a prix fixe brunch with unlimited tapas & drinks, but we opted for a few of their classic tapas a la carte. We ordered the shrimp in garlic olive oil, the beef & potato croquettes, and the sautéed spinach with garbanzos & pine nuts, and all three were delicious. The our waitress was good and the food came out quick. The red sangria was also good."

"We had an absolutely fabulous time at Boqueria. Their food is simply amazing and very authentic. My friends and I enjoyed a nice long dinner, and we weren't rushed by the waiting staff. In fact, they're very attentive and good-spirited. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves great Tapas!"

"Food wasn't great and portions were tiny BUT it was fun and good energy. Plus, since I indicated on our reservation that it was our 4 yr anniversary, they brought our dessert out with 4 candles and also gave us 2 complimentary glasses of champagne. Nice touch!

"This restaurant was fair - Nice little outdoor area on 19th St. but inside it was very noisy. Food was fair, highlight was the squid and lamb meatballs. $100 for two people (includes one drink and tax and tip)...expensive for what it was. Given the choices in DC I will explore other options before returning."

"The sangria is absolutely delightful- best to buy by the pitcher, don't bother with a single glass, and cocktails were well-mixed and well-balanced. The tapas menu holds something for everyone and makes it easy to work around dietary restrictions because of the number of selections- don't miss the cojonudos [quail egg and chorizo on toast] or the txipirones [seared squid]. The paella was especially good, as were the potato-and-beef 'bombas' [croquettes]."

"The food here is great - we went in expecting to compare it to Jaleo and we did throughout the meal and several things came out on top (surprisingly). We were impressed. The Pimientos de Padrón (peppers in salt) and the Patatas Bravas were particular standouts. All in all, the food was surprisingly fresh and light."

"This place was great. Excellent food and good service. The only dissapointment was the sangria. We ordered the red and were not impressed. It seemed like there was no alcohol in it, after an entire pitcher we felt nothing (we are lightweights). Other than that everything was great."

"Boqueria did what I wish other restaurants would do - they made things better after making a mistake. Our appetizer salad was brought out at the same time as our main courses and it could all barely fit on the table. They knew they had screwed up, so they gave us a free dessert. It was a small but meaningful gesture, and will ensure that I eat there again.
One other point - I think it is time to change the menu up a bit. The food is still good, for sure, but I'm starting to get a little bored."

"the food is absolutely fantastic. they make several wonderful house sangrias that are great as well. My only qualm is pricing- the portions are very small for what you pay for them. Don't plan on gorging yourself and feeling stuffed here- it's definitely a nibbler-portioned establishment. If you are willing to pay for great food, I haven't had anything better in a long time."

"Went on a Sunday night so maybe they didn't have their A-team on. We found the food bland and the service off. We ordered the Pan con Tomate, Cojonudo, Dátiles con Beicon, Salteado de Setas, Croquetas Cremosas and the Tortilla del Dia. They brought us the Tortilla Española rather than the special. The flavour of the croquettes was overpowered by the fried taste of the crust. Service was weird. I had my back to the servers but noticed them frequently hovering behind me. My dining partner noticed them more. Especially when a different server brought out items that had previously been delivered - which happened multiple times. I ordered the grapefruit sangria and could taste neither the grapefruit or gin that was supposedly in it."

"Not an overly friendly greeting, then brought to what would have been a crowded table for two, and we were a party of three. It was crammed in next to a busy service station. "Feeling like stepping into a Ibiza trance ambient techno lounge instead of Spanish inflected restaurant for lunch in DC. Standard tapas offering at twice the price of other local tapas bars. Mind you I consider it morally wrong to charge for tapas so the sandwhiches good option. The service knowledgeable and friendly making experience more palatable. "Boqueria has a wide variety of Spanish tapas, ranging from shishito peppers to cod. Our group of 4 tried 10 or 12. Nothing was unusual, for those familiar with Spanish food, but they were are all excellent, including the desert. We also had two pitchers of sangria, and both were just right. Most of the restaurant is very noisy. We were placed in an upstairs room, however, that was quiet enough for normal conversation. Whew!"

"We had dinner at Boqueria on a weekday night.
PROS: The food and service were very good.
CONS: The restaurant was extremely noisy for a weekday evening, the tables were very close together where we were sitting, and the AC wasn't working where we were sitting (not sure whether this is a permanent or temporary problem).
I might go back for lunch, but probably not for dinner."

"I came to celebrate Mother's Day at Boqueria because it has an all inclusive tapas / drinks combination. It turned out to be just what we needed and everyone left satisfied. The waitress could have maybe been a bit more friendly but she did her job pretty well, we always had our drinks and she placed our tapas orders very quickly despite there being alot of parties she was dealing with.
I also like that it's flexible, there is as nice of an inside area as there is an outside area which unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of because of the rain. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and have already. Great food and vibe."

"Boqueria was a great place for a group of people. The food was terrific and each dish was well explained by a fantastic waitress. The lamb kabobs and the ham and cheese croquettes were probably our favorites, but everything was very good. We had 10 different tapas. The red wine sangria was A+. "I've been here a few times for brunch, always pleased, but this time they went over the top - we kept having to change our reservation, people came late, food allergies, but the staff was so accomodating, constantly on top of our drink and food orders, bringing out more dishes on their own. "The patio seating was great, and the unlimited brunch deal (food & booze for $40/person) was a good choice, especially considering that the waitress consistently came by to fill up our drinks and take additional food orders. We didn't feel rushed out of the table. They also delivered complimentary birthday churros at the end of the meal--just ask beforehand. Overall a great way to kick off Sunday Funday!"

"The service is timed perfectly. The choice pleases vegetarians, fish, and meat eaters. Ample choice, all delicious. The wine selection is excellent, ranging from moderate to expensive, your choice. Wonderful service throughout the entire evening. Three hours of fine, unrushed dining. The noise level is the only issue. You really have to talk loudly to carry on a conversation. It's rare to find an acoustically soothing restaurant these days. Have been to Boqueria three times now and each time was magical. Allie is superb -- she has excellent suggestions without being intrusive. Her expertise is phenomenal."

"I've been to Boqueria three times, all for an early brunch. Each time I was there, everyone I brought said how great the food was, and how surprised they were that it was still not too crowded -- this place is a hidden gem! I suggest you get the Churros con Chocolate (to start - yum!), and all of the brunch items are so good. My favorites are the Tortilla Espanola (which comes with great pan con tomate) or the Torrija ("Spanish" French toast). Seriously, everything is SO GOOD!"

"Can't say enough great things. The bar staff is super friendly and helpful. The cava sangria is cant miss. Our group of 4 got 5 tapas per couple and we struggled to finish, but couldn't let any go to waste. The portions are large for tapas and that's a pleasant surprise. The salt cod balls were great and so were the cheeses for the cheese plate.

"Food was good, but portions are small (even for topas). As a result, be prepared to order at least 3 dishes for each guest, which will drive the cost of the dinner up. A lot of interesting, tasty items on the menu. Pepper margaritas were good too."

"it was our first time in DC and our first meal in DC - it was delicious - we had a lot of different items - sausage, cheese, bread with melted cheese and mushrooms, shrimp, and the most amazing fried potatoes. there was also an unusual 'sangria' made with vodka and dried cherries - a huge pitcher wasn't very pricey. we sat outside under the heat lamps and it's on a busy corner with street muscians playing nearby. the waitress was helpful with ordering and the food came nicely paced. we recommend this place heartily!
the menu is huge and there were also several specials - no matter what you are in the mood for, you will probably find the tapas version of it on this menu! we ate and drank a lot for about $120 - great deal!"

"Boqueria feels like a crowded bar, loud, noisy, very energetic. Everyone is crowded into a small area so service is a bit frenetic. This isn't a quiet, intimate place, where you can hold a conversation. But it is an excellent upscale bar/tapas environment where every disk is great. Prices are reasonable. The waitress made some great recommendations but honestly I don't doubt that I would enjoy everything on the menu."

"Great bloody marys (really the main reason why our group came for brunch!), though very unfortunately they're not on the prix fixe menu. The skewers are great and you have your choice of chorizo, anchovy, and others. One of the best in the city! The staff here always takes great care of their tables. "The service and food was great but the noise was deafening. The restaurant has speakers mounted every 10 feet so there is no place to sit to get away from the really loud music except sitting outside. All conversation had to be yelling at each other."
