"My friend and I celebrated our birthdays with a lunch at Vintana and were treated like queens. We requested and received a window table so we could enjoy the fountain view. The food was artistically prepared with twists on classic dishes. We had the baked brie, salmon Cesar salad, and the shrimp salad. Everything was delicious and our waitress happily split both salads (without extra charge) so we could both try each salad. The brought us a banana bread dessert topped with ice cream as a birthday treat.
I am going to bring my mother here for her 80th birthday, because the restaurant has so many gluten free options."

"We showed up a little early to our reservation and luckily our table was ready for us. The staff was friendly from the valet, until we excited the restaurant. We ordered the mother's day 3 course meal with the wine pairing and there was never a gap between dishes and our wine being served. There were several food item selections to chose from. Even though the restaurant was busy for mother's day, we were never rushed and we felt calm and relaxed throughout our our dinner. We did not have to raise our voice to hear each other talk inside the restaurant. There were kids in the restaurant, but they were well behaved so that was never an issue. I definitely want to come back and try their lunch menu."

"Went on Mother's Day @ 6:30 for prefix dinner menu. Wait staff very well trained, friendly, and helpful. Quality of our 3 different first courses and deserts was excellent, except one creme brulee was rushed and sugar crust was not crisped at all. Two roast beef main courses were overdone (1 requested MR and 1 requested med) to point that medium well serving was difficult to cut. Very large portions: baked potatoes must have been a pound each and large amount of brocolli. Plate looked like a family serving platter. This is not a generalization, as all other main courses I noted were not super-sized.
Martini's were excellent..
We have pleasant experiences with Coen restraunts and will go again to try regular menu an a non-holiday evening."

"We had reservations for 8:00pm and were seated at 8:30. I know restaurants want you to come and have a cocktail or two before they seat you. It's a trend I see and Cohn's seems to do this a lot. I find it aggravating. It was also very loud and hard for us to hear each other - when did restaurants decide all hard surfaces were great? Service was not quick. They were certainly busy, but they should be able to schedule that better. The food we had was, in general, pretty good as was the wine."

"The Escondido Education Foundation just completed its first ever 50/50 Campaign. We received donations from community members, families, educators, in fact, the whole community participated. Our luncheon was to thank one of our major donors who helped us get our campaign off the ground. We did not have to start out "in the hole". With this donor's participation, we started out with a "win"! 100% of the money raised will go into EUSD classrooms.
Vintana was a great place to thank our donor. We all enjoyed our meals and as always, ambiance was breathtaking!"

"Wonderful, Attentive service. If this is a criticism, understand that the quality of the food was wonderful, but the portions were rather large on the entrees. Skip the apps if you don't want to fill up, but that's a shame cause the apps are wonderful. Also, salads are generous portion, easy to split. Lobster Mac and cheese was awesome...fish was fresh and well prepared and presented. Crazy about the Brussels sprout side dish. We will be back!"

"I have never been disappointed when Debra Scott is in the house, but when she is tending to another of her ventures the Vintana kitchen tends to rush and overlook her attention to details. I did not see Debra this last visit, still the seafood special was inspired and delicious--grilled salmon served Udon style (mildly spicy and slightly sweet). My guest and I both ordered it and ate every bit. I'm also pleased that Debra is incorporating some of her Kemo Sabe recipes into the Vintana menu. My guest did not want wine with lunch, but I was happy to see the wine list is improving."

"This was my 2nd time there and my husbands 1st time. The food and drinks were great. However our waiter was not that great. We waited awhile to be given the specials/order taken, then awhile when my husband wasn't sure what he wanted...It seemed liked all the other tables he was waiting on were more important then us two there....Towards the end he was more attentive, but by then it was to late. Again, the food and drinks were great!!! We'd definitely go again, this time maybe for dinner:)"

"I really can't say enough good things about this restaurant. I don't believe you can find a better experience in San Diego at this price point. The food is delicious and consistent, the seating is comfortable and spacious, and the staff is professional and courteous. Deborah Scott cannot design a bad menu. I don't know how she does it. It's really no wonder this has become a favorite spot for me and my family."

"I'd love to see more dinner salads. The 'skirts on fire" while delicious is approximately as many calories as a double cheese burger. It's a steak plate with a side of salad. Great place, wonderful service, the menu is getting better with more fish choices."

"Welcome addition to the Escondido restaurant scene. Good food and service in a well appointed setting. Presentation a bit over the top for us, but probably brings n the younger set. There is not a "deafening" rating on the noise level which I would have chosen, but again that's because we're older and hearing aided. We'll be back."

"My husband and I have dined twice at Vintana with friends. The service is fantastic and friendly. They have a nice menu and wine list. We had a 5-year old with us this time and he was treated very kindly and enjoyed the children's menu as well. Love the atmosphere!"

"Had one of those nights where unfortunately everything went wrong....from the wine we wanted being out, to mixing up the glasses of wine, to finally screwing up my wife's meal which resulting in her eating meat for the first time in 26 years! To their credit, they were very accomodating and truly remourseful for their mistakes. #$&! happens. Will definately give it a second try."

"The HUGE vodka list was a hit. The specialty cocktails were also quite good. Our server provided some excellent options (Pomarita!). The appetizer portions are large, so you don't need many to share. We got the tempura artichoke hearts. The dipping sauce was excellent. Exceptional wine list and we happened to hit Vintana on half off wine day! Better selection of 1/2 off wines than most. The entree selection was large and difficult to choose. I had the Sea Bass which was an excellent preparation. Dad got the filet which was perfectly cooked and after a suggestion by our server, my wife got the pork porterhouse - SUPER! We took our time and were NEVER rushed. Certainly will return!"

"Vintana was elegant and modern with a an unusual view of the 15 freeway that somehow added to the beauty of the restaurant! We could not hear the roar of traffic at all! Service was attentive but not intrusive. The tempura artichoke hearts with lemon caper aioli were wonderful!! Loved the lemon linguine with fennel & chile chicken breast, the multiple layers of flavorings was exquisite!"
