"I made a reservation here for Mother's day to treat my wife. The restaurant is fairly new and simply but elegantly designed. We were serenaded by a live jazz musician, and we met the man himself, Dale Wamstad, who served us his special cinnamon rolls. The food was absolutely delicious! The waiters were very attentive and my 5 year old daughter was entertained by a professional magician who went from table to table performing his feats. This was a very special day and the price was not too high for the quality of food and service. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great restaurant experience."

"The flash brief zucchini, bang bang shrimp, whipped potatoes and burnt corn were just great. And we had a magician visit our table! It was perfect for Mother's Day. Honestly I thought the food would be marginal but it was really good. And the service was excellent."

"Upon first entering my wife and I were excited for our first date night in nearly 2 years. The atmosphere seemed perfect for long overdue conversations with out our children, however the nearly 12 minute absence of our waitress with empty drinks followed by another 10 minute absence with an empty drink changed that. The lack of service turned what should have been exceptional food into "maybe we should have gone to Salt Grass". It seems for the money we had made a mistake and probably will not return to Texas.

"This is our first time to eat at Texas, but it won't be the last. My wife and I were celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary, and we couldn't have picked a better spot. From the hostess, to the bartender, to the server, and finally meeting Mr. Wamstadt, everything was magical for us. For someone who has eaten a lot of steak in his life, the Delmonico was the most outstanding steak I have ever eaten. Warning: You may want to bring a wheel barrow with you so they can take you back to the car. We were really full, but oh so happy when we left. "The Dinner Experience was above and beyond all expectations, the Food was perfect, great taste, portion more than expected, service was the best. The owner as usual cares, spends time on a personal basis at the table. The wine selection was overwhelming, The time in the Restuarant was relaxing, refreshing and engernizing."

"Almost 2 hours for a party of 11 to get their full meal. We arrived at 5:00 and were seated promptly....because there was almost no one else there. The appetizers took 15 minutes to order AFTER my husband went to find the waitress. Kid's meals came a full 35 minutes before the main dishes. So....our entrees came about an hour after we ordered and husband's stead was still undercooked! Never an apology and the waitress did not offer to refill my drink until I took my 5 and 7 year olds outside because they were so bored. I think she knew I was not happy. We won't be going back."

"Excellent food, amazing service. We really enjoyed the place. They have a simple menu and the food is great. We had the ribs and the pecan chicken. We also had the soups and an appetizer. Everything was great. We will definitely be back. It's nice to know we don't have to travel to downtown Dallas for a great dinner. And again, friendly great service. The table magician was fantastic."

"We celebrated my husband's birthday at Texas. Most people liked their food very much. But the person who ordered the quail said that it was a bit dry, although they didn't complain about it because it would've taken too long to get another one. The people who got steaks said they were "fantastic". For dessert, the lemon tart and bread pudding were the winners. The chocolate sponge cake tasted stale. All in all it was a nice evening."

"The food and the decor were very nice. I give them a 10. There was a Saxophone player on the stairs and I saw a Magician mingling around. That was something you don’t see everyday. Both were great. "My salmon was not cooked to how I ordered it. It was sent back three times and when it came back the last time it was burnt but still not cooked on the inside. We ordered cake and was offered Bailey's for free because of my dinner. We do not drink and refused, but you would have thought they would not have charged us for the cake to make up for the salmon. We were given a deck of Texas playing cards on our way out."

"This was an excellent Valentine's dinner experience. When we entered the parking lot for an early reservation we were nervous - we had to park in the south forty. When we made it to the restaurant we were pleased to find that our table was ready and we were taken straight to it. Being Valentine's day there was a limited version of the normal menu or a Prix Fixe option. We opted for the Prix fix dinner and the steak & deserts were excellent but to be candid the shrimp was over cooked, and the sides were warm (not hot)but tasty. Service was attentive without being obtrusive and the bread was to die for. One could easily see the rating moving from Very Good to Outstanding on a normal evening. We will return."

"It is wonderful when the first person who greets you at the restaurant is the owner. We went there for the first time for our anniversary/Valentine's Day date and were not disappointed. The ambiance was classy without being pretentious. We felt very comfortable there. They had a saxophone player that played great music and took requests.
The service was wonderful and fast. The scallops, steaks, salmon and desserts we had were absolutely delicious and unique. The special flavoring of the food was definitely not something that you can get at the larger chain restaurants. I highly recommend this place. We will definitely be going back."

"Went there for our anniversary. Started with the Sweet Potato Jalapeno soup. It was quite good, smooth with a bit of a bite. Followed that with Voodoo scallops. Three large sea scallops sitting on a sauce that is kind of savory and sweet. We both had broiled redfish which was a large portion and quite delcious. Our server did a great job of explaining the menu and making suggestions."

"Valentine's night. 2013. Was seated at the moment we walked in with our reservation. Worth the drive from Ft. Worth.

"The food, ambiance and service are unsurpassed. Owner Dale Wamstad has been on site and attentive to every aspect of operations each of the three times I've been there (over the past three months). He also visits tables and enjoys his work, which shows in all aspects of our dining experience."

"We love Dale and his restaurants. Talk about a great place. Live music and excellent steaks! The bar is big and the drinks are just right. We call Texas "III Forks lite". Steaks are just as good with a more casual atmosphere. We can get right in and enjoy great food. Best of all... Dale is always there to ensure patrons get the best you can get in Dallas."

"Food was great but the noise level made it really hard to conversate with fellow diners. I think the live music was great but there really isn't any need to have it so loud that your guests can't carry on a conversation with the person sitting next to them without yelling. I would give the food and service superb ratings but not the atmosphere."
