Welcome to "The Warming Hut Restaurant" where our aim and pleasure is to serve you local, seasonal Colorado comfort food in a warm and cozy atmosphere. We strive to source, whenever possible, all the best Colorado produce, poultry, bison, beef, lamb, dairy, other farm specialties, micro-brews, wine and liquor. Our quaint mountain town of Breckenridge, along with our gorgeous State of Colorado, has so much to offer and we want nothing more than to share that with our local community and visitors alike.

"We didn't end up eating here. We arrived 30 min early for our reservation, and were seated immediately. We were then ignored for the next 18 minutes (we timed it on our phone). The guy who ended up being our server walked past us to visit the table behind us no less than THREE times while we waited to be greeted. I overheard him saying that he had been at the Breck Beer Festival earlier that day, and had remembered to take off his wristband before he came to work. He also mentioned that his boss was OOT and he was the "acting manager" for the day. Awesome. When he finally greeted us, he apologized for the wait, but by then we were too mad to stay. We went to Relish down the street, where we were greeted immediately. We won't be back."

"Nice ambiance with a very homely feel, like you are in your own kitchen. Food was good not great and reasonably priced. Potato soup was creamy and delicious but Roasted chicken was heavily spiced and carrots were practically raw."

"We loved the eclectic decor & the music... Great ambience. The service was a little too laid back, although the waiter was sweet, we had to prompt him several times. Two of our meals were fine, the third was truly awful. The waiter did bring us a free dessert as compensation, & it was wonderful. With a little fine tuning of the food preparation & service, The Warming Hut could be an amazing restaurant."

"After reading the reviews and already being familiar with the good local restaurants, we decided to give The Warming Hut a chance. Initially, we were impressed with the warm hostess greeting, atmosphere, and immediate seating. The bread, butter, and salad were just as great if not better than other impressive restaurants. It all started to fall apart when I asked for more salad dressing. The waiter who seemed absent more than present, said he would quickly return with another one. Never got it. Meals were mediocre. My husband said the steak was tough and unimaginative. Again, even with all the wait staff standing around, we had to flag one down to take our check. Disappointing."

"Must have had staff issues the night we dined there. It was 40 mins from the time we sat down until there was something to eat on our table. Parsnip potato leek soup was excellent. Seating very close We heard the entire conversation of the table next to us. Staff was extremely nice but seemed stressed."

"Dinner was excellent - great service. I found the trout delicious and rhe side dishes also. We dined early so there weren't many people in the restaurant yet. The small bar, however, was full with an upscale apres' ski crowd. A very welcome find in a ski town."

"Foodie comfort food. Small and cozy, but vibrant. Table by bay window nice for a couple or even foursome. The windows are taped so didn't feel the cold. veggie lasagna delicious and good warmed up the next day. Meatloaf very tasty. According to shuttle driver this restaurant is new kid on the block in Breck. Hope it keeps its present charm"

"We had a three-top facing Main Street. Not remotely drafty and with snow falling and people walking by--it was cozy and beautiful. Our food was wonderful. I loved the shrimp and grits with Chorizo. My companions were equally pleased with the elk medallions and the ahi tuna....and the perfectly cooked fresh veggies were yummy too."

"This was our 2nd visit this winter and what a difference in the two experiences. On the January visit we thoroughly enjoyed our food and the service but when we took our "foodie" friends on a weeknight in Feb it was quite a letdown. The wine that appeared was Lebanese vice the French wine that we ordered, it took forever for the bread to appear, service in general was quite slow, and we had to use a flashlight app to read the menu. When the entrees did arrive they were room temperature but it had taken so long we took it as it was. Our waitress struggled when opening the wine bottle & said she had been instructed to hold the wine in her arms/hands. Really?"

"I would consider ourselved foodies, so we go out of our way to try new restaurants. Unfortunately our experience with the Warming Hut wasn't a good one. Our waiter (the owner's husband) was obviously still learning the ropes of waiting on tables. Our martinis were served in pint glasses, our appetizers and main courses at the same time, my husband wasn't able to eat the Elk Medallions as they were too chewy, and the high end pot pie had no flavor. The waiter dismissed our feedback citing, "Elk is a game animal after all." We unfortunately spent $175 for four of us and will not return to the restaurant."

"We reserved a table for four on a Fri night. We were seated at a table in the basement adjacent to the stairs. High traffic area since the kitchen is there. Several waitstaff ran into my chair. We ordered and got drinks promptly but the dining experience was downhill thereafter. We had to request water and the standard bread after 30 min of being there. Mussel appetizer was good. Chili was ok. We could see our main course sitting on the kitchen counter waiting to be picked up for an eternity but no waiter around. Our steaks were over cooked but the waiter wouldn't know since he never came back. We completed our meal and got tired of waiting before getting our own to go bag in the kitchen. Bad dining experience."

"Outstanding food and service. We had 3 children in our party and the staff helped us make it a good experience for all. They started the girls off with some hot chocolate with whipped cream. And they brought us crayons to occupy them. I had the elk and it was delicious. The guys had the pork special and left with clean plates. My friend had meatloaf and said it was good. "Our waiter seemed new to waiting tables and didn't know the menu well, nor the wine list. He did get the bartender to help us pick a wine, which was a positive experience. My wife's vegitable lasagna lacked flavor or anything interesting about it, which questions why it was on the menu. I will not go back here for dinner. The take out menu shows a list of sandwich options, that may make this place a better lunch spot. The atmosphere was good, warm and eclectic, which is why we chose the restaurant."

"The warming hut has a warm and charming ambiance that fits the historic nature of Breckenridge. The service was mediocre. The menu is limited and heavy. The wine list of more than 50 wines is overkill for a small restaurant and they were out of the wine I tried to order. The chocolate tart we tried to order for dessert was no longer available, but still listed on the menu. The food was good over all. We missed the sweet potato biscuits we had on a prior visit. I would definitely give it another chance, but the warming hut needs to up its game if I am going to choose it over other dining venues in town!"

"The overall dining experience was great. The Wine list we felt a bit limited and a generally overpriced. Most wines could be purchased locally at a grocery store, and for a lot less,so mark up was evident. The menu seems a bit static and I would encourage greater variety and at least two specials offered instead of one.
The food preparation is top notch and obviously fresh ingredients are the order of the day. The owner was very pleasant and engaged with the clientele and often helped in serving."

"Warm and cozy after coming in from the cold. Our party of 3 were seated in an intimate corner with couch. Lovely. Soups were good, trout was tasty and veggie lasagna was good. Wonderful atmosphere."

"This was our 3rd time for dinner and I have to say it has slipped a notch in the year since it opened both in terms of food and service. The portions are very generous but the food just wasn't that special. I had the pumpkin quesadilla and elk medallions and my husband had the beet salad and meatloaf. The atmosphere is very charming and cozy, but my chair was kicked several times by both the wait staff and the family dining at the table which was obviously too close to ours. They were busy and the service was good, but some little things slipped like filling water glasses and pouring wine. I really want to see this place succeed and we will be back, because in terms of Summit County dining it is still top 10."
