Casual neighborhood American eatery with a sustainable farm-to-table attitude. We will be open breakfast + lunch + dinner + late night with an extensive menu of seasonal and locally sourced organic products at very attractive price points. Full "artisanal" bar with a great selection of locally produced craft beers on tap and an extensive and affordable wine list. In addition we will have a "chef"s pantry" offering daily selection of salads, pasta, sandwiches, pastries and pre-prepared entrees to go. "Altho' the noise level was a little higher than is comfortable for us, we were able to communicate comfortably with our table-mates is not our server. The quality of the food, service and wine list more than made up for the noise level. Best halibut EVER!"

"This is a great find for the atmosphere and menu. Food and service were good, but not great, but I want to go back a few times. A large party was seated right next to our table of two people and they were so close to us (literally chair to chair) and SO loud it nearly ruined our meal."

"Outstanding place. We are visiting San Diego from Portland where we have our share of great restaurants and BG would rival the very best Portland has to offer. We liked it so much we took some friends back the next night. It was a good excuse to try something totally different on the menu to see if BG was consistently great -- it was. We love the fig and duck salad, the calamari salad, the entrees of halibut (it was a special), lamb loin, duck, and the shrimp and polenta appetizer. The chocolate chip bread pudding was so good we ate it two nights in a row."

"Just went to try out the new Oyster Bar menu. Though the major opening of the Oyster Bar will not occur until May 7, they did have several of the new menu available. The couple that went with us had new menu items and they loved it. I had my favorite - the Duck & Date and, as usual, it was cooked and made to perfection. Despite being a very busy night - service was top notch and the wine list super. This is truly a neighborhood gem and yet well worth a trip to try it out..........."

"This was our first visit to Brooklyn Girl and we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the pork chop and the halibut. They were both delicious and perfectly prepared. The ambiance, food, service (Jessica was awesome) were spot on. Couldn't be happier to find this wonderful restaurant!"

"This is the third time that my husband and I have eaten at Brooklyn Girl. The food is always excellent, however the bar staff needs to take it up a notch. We were meeting another couple and arrived early on Saturday evening so we could enjoy a cocktail before dinner. We sat in the bar area for almost 10 minutes and were never approached so when a couple of places opened up at the bar we nabbed them thinking that we would get better service. Again, both bartenders seemed oblivious to our presence - after they walked past us several times I finally called out and asked if we could order a drink. The bartender was very pleasant but the attitude was that he was in no big hurry and the place was packed with several other people waiting??"

"Be sure to make a reservation well ahead as this place is jammed. Service was just right, food was excellent. Had the pear salad and 1/2 chicken...both were great. At just about 6 pm the place filled and it got very noisy. Other than that, highly recommend."

"Once again it was fabulous. I introduced a friend who had been wanting to try BG. Our waitress did a wonderful job recommending the halibut and Barollo. As did the table next to us. Then we shared our coconut cake with the table on the other side of us. One thing I love about your restaurant is the fun friendly feel and the fact that the people sitting next to you have no problem engaging in conversation, making recommendations or eating your leftovers. :-)"

"Our hostess must have given our table away initially. We showed up ten minutes early and were told they were running right on time for tables. Hence, we went to the bar and grabbed a glass of wine while we waited for the couple meeting us. About

"My husband and I were trying to decide on where to go for our "date night" and I ran across an Open Table recommendation for Brooklyn Girl Eatery. We looked through the menu and decided we should try it. We were seated the moment we arrived and the wait staff was very attentive and friendly. I didn't know what beverage I wanted, so my waiter gave me a recommendation. The Old Pocket Mule! It was light & refreshing! The food we ordered was excellent as well. I had the Chicken in the Pot (enough to share with 2 people easily), my husband had the Brined Pork Chop and we shared the Cauliflower. We started off with the Kale Caesar Salad and we were surprised how good it was. My husband and I will definitely be back & probably w/ friends!"

"The food and decor are great. Excellent fresh fish! While the wait staff was excellent, I'm scoring service as only good because multiple members of the staff were aggressive about removing plates while others in our party were still dinning. The only other take away is the noise level which makes it difficult to carry on a conversation. Otherwise I would be back all the time."

"At first I didn't like this place, with its all-too-common, corporate-feeling, "modernized old-place" decor (think: upscale Red Robin!), and prices just above what I like paying. "Really enjoyed our first visit here. They were able to seat us right away (7:45 on a Saturday night). Service was good although our waiter did disappear for some time, when we asked the bus boy to find him, he came over right away. Shared cheese board and salad and another appetizer. Food was unique and very good. Portion size on cheese board and meatball plate could have been a little bigger. Salad was just right. Nice wine list, fabulous original cocktail list.

"This was my third visit to BG & I continue to be impressed. Our server was excellent & offered suggestions & reviews of menu items. As usual the drinks did not disappoint; the mixologists are amazing! One of us had the brick chicken & the other had the yellowtail special; we were both very pleased. Just as we finished our meal, the power went out in the entire neighborhood. The staff didn't miss a beat, setting out more candles & making the best of an unfortunate situation. "Awesome meal and great service! Our main entree's (Duck and Lamb) were superb! The oyster sliders to start were amazing. Cornbread was a bit lacking (but that is only b/c the Cornbread at Tractor Room is probably the best in San Diego and would be hard to top).
We were there for an early dinner (5:30) and within 30 mins the place was packed. Will definately eat there again, but will be sure to make RSVP's given it's popularity...."

"The restaurant was worth at least one visit. The food was good, but menu was not as inventive as I had hoped. The service was painfully slow. It took too long to make it to the dessert course, that after 2-1/2 hours we were no longer interested in ordering dessert. Though the food was good, it was overpriced and there are plenty of other restauarnts to frequent for a memorable meal. I would only return here for an appetizer and drink at the bar."

"I treated a friend to a birthday dinner at Brooklyn Girl, the first time for both of us. The design and styling details captivated me from the moment I walked in the door. The three people clustered around the host stand weren't particularly welcoming and I had to make the introduction, but that was the only "fail" of the evening. For the next two and a half hours, my friend and I had the best meal and conversation punctuated by just the right amount of attentiveness by our server, Jessica, who knew the menu well and gave great recommendations. If you are enjoying the renaissance of bourbon as much as I am, try the Kentucky Blue, as well as the chocolate bourbon bread pudding dessert special if offered."

"Great decor and definitely a happy hum when entering this trendy spot. The food was good but could benefit from a tweaking in the accompanying vegetable department. Portions were generous.Our server was attentive, and was able to answer any questions we had and provide guidance.The reasonably priced valet parking was a definite asset, as it was raining cats and dogs when we arrived. Also I had mentioned it was my daughter's birthday and a dessert cupcake with a little candle was delivered as a surprise. Very thoughtful. All in all we had a happy dining experience."

"Brooklyn Girl Eatery was simply impressive. I brought my mother to celebrate her birthday and the meal was stupendous. We enjoyed two orders of the Bacon Wrapped Vietnamese Meatballs and an order of the Mediterranean Black Mussel Pot. Those were split between four of us. My mother orders the Butter & Bacon salad and was very pleased. Her boyfriend ordered the Swordfish, mine ordered the Williams Burger and I Mary's Free Range Duck. Let us not forget the Keylime Pie in a Jar. Everything was prepared beautifully and quickly. I will be back again."

"This was recommended to me and I decided to take my husband and a group of our friends here for dinner to celebrate his birthday. I wasn't disappointed. The menu was simple and not over the top. I hate when you have a menu w/thousands of choices and pages. This was easy and basic. The cocktails were fantastic and I highly recommend the Kentucky Blue and Old Fashioneds. Their starters are great, and we ordered the Hummus and the board platters (with the meats and with the assorted cheeses)...Very good. Dinner was also delicious and normally i don't order chicken but their brownstone brick chicken was so tasty and perfect. I took the rest home, the serving was big. Our waiter was very attentive and his service was excellent."
