"Awsome... Is what comes to mind. This was my first time, my husband had been once before. When he mentioned he would love a lawrys dinner for his birthday I couldn't resist . The whole experience was wonderful, it's Monday and instill raving about it to friends and family. The service the food was beyond my expectations. I would recomend to to everyone that if your looking for a special meal where you will be satisfied in every way.... Lawrys Beverly hills is the place . Open table made it so easy I would use the service again in a heartbeat!"

"The entire experience was WONDERFUL! We celebrated my Mother's 89th birthday and they treated her like a Queen. Her comment was this tops all the other places I have ever been. The food was truly "outstanding" and our servers went above and beyond to make sure everything was 'perfect' for us. It could not have been any better. As far as the noise, we sat in a booth to the right as you come down the stairs and everyone that was seated to the right had to come by our table. We happened to be there at a busy time so there was alot of action. Some of it was VERY entertaining and it did not interfer with our dining experience but at times it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Thank you Lawry's for making her birthday THE BEST."

"Due to heavy traffic conditions we were twenty minutes late but the staff was friendly accomodating us to a table very quickly. We were seated at a location next to or near the kitchen area which was fine for us. The ambiance was warm and spirited. Our waitress introduced as Mrs Thomas asked for our drink orders and delivered the wine with celebration and show. She then served the bread and butter nice and warm and delicious. Soon after the salad was presented, it was a wonderful performance with the salad dressing poured from great hights. We applauded with delight. For the main course we ordered Lawry Rib Cut with bone. It was the best!!! Desert was a supreme Hot Fudge Sundae. Mrs Thomas made the entire evening wonderful success."

"We've enjoyed Lawry's for many years. The Prime Rib is second to none. However, this evening, the seafood was inderwelming.
The shrimp cocktail was not that great. Precooked frozen shrimp that weren't thawed properly. Lobster tails were mushy and not
fully cooked as was the whitefish. Even when it was sent back, it still wasn't done. Although our server, Ms. Nelson was very friendly,
she forgot several things. She took care of us a few weeks ago and we had the same problem with her.
We love Lawry's and if weren't such faithfuls, after this experience, someone else may not return."

"We had a wonderful time. The service was fantastic and we were seated fast. We had not been back there for many years and everything was much better. My wife's prime rib was perfect. Mine was very tough and I could only eat about 20% of it. I filled up on bread, lobster, salad and desert instead.

The over-all experience was great, which is why I left a 45 per cent tip. Just a bad piece of meat this time.

"After living in CA all my life, it was my first visit to Lawrys and they definitely delivered. We started in the bar and made our way to the table shortly after. "Staff is too pushy with all the extras. We shouldn't have to say no to so many side dishes when we are placing our order. We had ample time to look at the menu and choose what we really wanted. The portions are adequate and had we ordered more, we wouldn't have been able to finish the meal. Service was rushed, we were finishing our prime rib 30 minutes after we were seated."

"We were seated earlier than our reservation which was very nice. My wife's prime rib came before my salmon was served so she had to wait a few minutes which wasn't good. They could have coordinated that better. I had the Australian Shyraz with my salmon and it blended well since it was a relatively light red. Overall, everything was really nice."

"I was actually pretty disappointed by our dining experience. I have been to Lawry's many times before, but this time, we were swushed into a corner table for 2, and they added a chair on the side to fit 3 people, and our table was literally 2 inches from our neighbor's table. I felt like we were sharing the table and we could hear everything they said, and I'm sure they heard every word we said.

The prime rib was just as disappointing. The meat did not taste marinated, and we had to get more au jus on the side to make up for the lack of taste. We used to love coming here for the perfect taste in their ribs, but this time, I found myself quite dissatisfied by the quality of the food. The taste has definitely gone down over the past years."

"The service is great right of the bat. I had reservations, and arrived right on time. There was a crowd waiting, but I was seated right away (make a reservation). I also think because of the reservation I was seated in a back room (loved it). Our server was great, almost perfection. Everything was taken care of without being overly bothersome. As for the meal. I started with the salad, Extra large cut of prime rib, and two lobster tails. I thought the salad was just average, but none of us left any on the plate (maybe I was looking forward to the prime rib). Next came the lobster tails. I must say these were cooked to perfection. At the price, do the two tails (well worth it). I thought the prime rib was average but I will visit here again."

"The customer service was outstanding the M'aitre D came over personally to see if Lawrys met our expectations as this was our first time.I have dined all over the world and this was one of the most memorable high standards of great customer service. "I've eaten at Lawrys in Beverly Hills before but this time my Lawrys cut was more like the petite cut and 1/2 of the prime rib was FAT. My daughter also had the Lawrys cut which was the actual size and not much fat. My husband and friend order the beef bowl and liked theirs but also had a lot of fat. For the price of these cuts I would prefer to have less fat and more meat. The meat that I did get was good."

"Had reservation for 4:30pm.I checked in and the hostess confirmed my reservation. Everyone was being seated and we weren't called. When they called my name, AmyTong for 6, there was another party with the last name Tang for 2, and took them. They knew they had the wrong count, but didn't question it. The hostess sat us, but it was a small table for more like 4 than 6. The food was awesome, and service was impeccable. I got over the fact quickly that there was a mix-up on the reservation!!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our special occasion with our extended family of 14 at Lawry's. We were all able to sit together at one long table in a beautiful restaurant with great food and a great atmosphere. The very high ceilings allowed for a lot of people to be together and yet not feel crowded or overpowered by conversations happening elsewhere. The food...outstanding! From the spinning salad, through the main course to the desserts and after dinner beverages, everything was prepared just right and delivered perfectly. Our entire large group was served our meals together and without any hustle or bustle detected in the staff. Truly a dining experience fit for my mother's 80'th birthday! "Had an amazing time. My boyfriend and I were visiting in LA and were dying to try Lawry's. However, we did not know what to expect. We were nervous the restaurant was going to be uptight and stuffy. We couldnt be more wrong. Our waitress was super friendly and welcoming. She also explained everything to us very thoroughly and made our experience very comfortable. We got the spinning salad which was amazing, I got the smaller cut of prime rib, and we got mashed potatoes and spinach. She also threw in a side of creamed corn which was fantastic. I wish there was one of these in New York, cant wait to go back my next trip to LA!!"

"Thank You for making it easy to make a reservation, that was the best part, our seating was horrible,too much traffic at our table,we couldnt hear each other talk,we didnt finish our food & we left. waitress was a gem though, i was lawry's biggest fan for years, not anymore. "Unfortunately, my guest had to send her seabass back to the kitchen, twice. She finally decided to have the salmon, wich was "so so," according to her. On February 26, 2010, I will be returning for dinner with relatives from out-of-town. I can only hope for a better experience. On February 20, 2010, I left a message in General Manger Todd Johnson's voice mail. However, as of today, he has failed to return my call.

"We love Lawry's Restaurant, and I took my wife there because of her love of your food. My wife has been going there since she was a child in the late 40's. We had a nice table but it was a little noisy with a toddler next to us. We love children and have a grandson the same age but this was not the time to have a child looking over at us and screaming. The dinner was great and service was good. I ordered flower's for my wife which was through your service. They were beautiful white roses, however, we have them at home and they never opened and in two days they looked dead. Bad choice of florist."

"Lawry's is always consistent although it's somewhat of a one trick pony. If you aren't there for the roast beef, there's no reason to be there as everything else is average at best. Still, the beef is usually pretty good, sometimes even remarkable, and they have responded to our parlous economic times by offering their regular clientele special promotions and a generous rewards scheme. The enormous high ceilinged dining room feels prosperously old fashioned with matching waitresses . Surprisingly, the noise level is only moderate and even when it's full, there is quite a degree of privacy at one's table. The tables turn quickly so this isn't the place for a leisurely meal, and even with a reservation they will always make you wait a bit."

"Been to many steak houses, but never Lawry's. Many of my frds warned me about it, but then I really needed to try it at least once in my life and turned out to be really a big disappointment! Would not go back again for sure.

Salad was warm. Spinach and creamed were too salty. We asked for fresh pepper and were told that the restaurant only had 1 pepper mill, so we waited for more than 10 mins n put prime rb was cold. Then the custom menu are totally different to our expectations as we all ordered the same cut but turned out to be so diff from each other.

Anyway, go try once, and you will realize that so many other steak hses or prime rib hses are way much better than Lawry's."

"Still as good if not better than ever. Food was excellant for carnivores like myself and I don't see why you would get prime rib anywhere else. We were greeted by the restaurant manager who was as nice as good be. The server (Kim) could not have been better if we were the only one at the restaurant. We are big into wine and brought two bottles to the restaurant with no problem and a reasonable corkage. The total tab was extremely reasonable given the quality of the food and the service. It is not as elegant as say ortalon or grace nor a hipster place but it is more consistent and a better bargain than about anywhere in LA."

"The waitress was extremely rude. She actually brought back my bill and reminded me that I did not add a gratuity to it. I showed the cash in my had and told her that I was going to leave it on the table. She knew that I did not forget to add it to the bill because I drew a line through the gratuity part of the receit. This was quite embarassing for me and the other person at the table. Since when did it become a law that a person has to leave the tip on the bill an not on the table? In my book a tip is given for above and beyond good service. Because of her insulting behavior, I took back four dollar from the tip that I was going to leave. Looking back on the experience, I really wish I had not left anything."

"Fun to watch your meat being carved right in front of you. Good food. Went for Dine LA they do not have menu. You have to know and tell you want Dine LA pre fix, if not you will never know they have a pre fix. Our waitress did not offer till we asked for it. When we asked for pre fix she went cold on us. Not a good service after that. Feel like we were being rushed out, our entree came before we finished our salad, she spunned her salad bowl dished up and left, waited a long time for a to go boxes offered by the bus boy. Waited for a while for dessert to come supposed to have a choice but she just came and gave us the sundae, no question asked. Noticed a lot of participants in Dine LA they do not like to serve you the pre fix"

"While the prime rib was superb (as always)we found the creamed spinach wasn't the best like it used to be. It was tasteless,not creamy like it used to be. "It was a great dining experience. It was our first time going to Lawry's and in a restaurant at this caliber, it can be intimidating. Well we did not feel initimidated one bit because the people made us feel welcome and they were very accomodating. The food was great, from salad to main course to dessert. We're definately going back. $40-50 per person is not bad."

"I absolutely loved my dining experience at Lawry's Prime Rib in Beverly Hills, CA! This was my very first time going to this restaurant. I had been wanting to go for years, and I finally got the opportunity, and what a great opportunity it was! I had the Diamond Jim Brady-cut prime rib, cooked medium, w/mashed potatoes & gravy, creamed corn, creamed spinach, and yorkshire pudding. I also had creme brulee for dessert & an iced tea to drink. It had an energetic vibe, but it also came with a romantic side as well. I went with family and they all had a great time, too, even though they had all been there before. It's definitely a place you can't afford to go to every week or month; maybe once a year or for special occasions."

"Your participation in DINELA prompted this dinner. We love Lawry's, but it usually has to be a special occasion (or in this case a special price) for us to go. It has always been my favorite restaurant and it loved up to that description again on this visit.

On this night we all commented on the noise level being wonderful for conversation, and the ambiance restful. Sometimes there have been many large parties and it has been much noisier. This was a delight!"

"We arrived at Lawry's shortly before our 4:30 PM reservation time. The waiting area was extremely crowded and not very pleasant. We were seated at 4:30 and our server arrived promptly at our table. The food (shrimp cocktail, followed by prime rib with mashed potatoes, buttered peas and creamed spinach) and coffee was very good. The service was good although only one shrimp cocktail arrived at our table and it took awhile for the second to come because of the server's need to standby while the carver cut prime rib for another table. The house wine (Lawry's private label) Cabernet Sauvignon was just average. The restaurant was extremely crowded and, as a result, quite noisy. In general, this was a good but not outstanding experience."

Our waitress was incredible and made our 12 year old son feeling like a grown-up gentlman. This was a birthday dinner and the staff did not disappoint - my husband was extremely happy with our "splurge" dinner of the year. "I love Lawry's, but their seating needs work. We were seated between two other parties and myself sitting in the aisle. The meat cart bumped my chair as he was passing by. Also, the two parties, one to the left and one to the right kept looking at us quietly as our party was eat and conversing. I think all three parties felt uncomfortable for being so close to each other. It was as if we were all in the same party. Also, My guest could not go to the ladies room without half the party getting up and standing around while a Lawry's staff pulled the table out. Repeating the process in reverse when she came back. It was quite a show to be excused to attend the ladies room."

"I've been waiting a long time to come to Lawry's; I've heard of it for a while and how it was a legend. I was not blown away, but I wasn't disappointed either. The ambiance inside definitely has a lot of history and culture---lot of things about its menu/service that are really unique, so the overall experience is definitely memorable. But, at the end of the day, the food is the most important thing. I got their 2nd largest cut of prime rib, which was HUGE (don't recommend since it's just too much meat and not enjoyable after a while). It comes with salad and side of mashed potatoes, which is great. The meat itself was good, but not to the point where I would spend $50 in the future for prime rib again instead of steak (lots of fat)"

"Most of our dinner was good. The waitress forgot to bring us our salad before the main course; we had to back track a little. She also brought out dessert menus even though I had brought in a cake for my fiance. So I had to remind her that we had a cake in the back, ruining the surprise. However, they did bring extra dessert (ice cream) for the newly engaged...I had mentioned that I had just got engaged on my reservation. She also comped the cake cutting fee, so that was nice.
All in all a good restaurant, but could use a little help on the service department."

"My wife and I went for an early dinner on a Sun. thinking that it would less crowded than new years eve.It was, but it doesnt mean you'll get better service. It really depends on who you get as a waiter. The waiter didnt tell us the specials, we just overheard them from the next table over. We cancelled the lobster and ordered the white fish, which was excellent. I had the California cut of prime rib,and it was the perfect amount(6oz).mashed potatoes were great as well as the yorkshire pudding. The house salad was great as usual.After saying no to wine we were asked another 5 times, hard sell.We tryed not to let the waiter and the selling dampen an otherwise night out in the city for us, after we got our meals we really enjoyed the food."

"Our experience at Lawry's was outstanding. The food and service were excellent. The only criticism I have is there is no children's menu and virtually no flexibility in making alterations to the menu to give kids food they can eat.
