Ernest&Scott Taproom is a beer driven full service restaurant and event space featuring a modern beer garden menu. We are among the first beer-centric retailers in America to adopt the Brewers’ Association definition of craft brewery. Moreover, we apply the craft aspect to other facets of the restaurant from craft American Wines and Spirits to Creekstone Farms Meats butchered by Pat Lafreida to Glenn, our local mushroom forager.
"Without question, Ernest and Scott will soon be turned over. There really is nothing special about this place besides the interior of the building and the architecture for which the restaurant owners were lucky to adopt when purchasing the property. The menu tried to highlight some rather random special items but servings were small, price was high, and in the end, the food was 'eh'. I ordered the crab and potato soup and it was spicy for sure. But that's about all I tasted. And it would have been nice to have a roll or something to go with the soup. The wait for the food was long as if the staff really struggled to keep up with the incoming crowd. I would pass next time and the next time and the next time."

"Are waiter Elvis was great, drinks were top notch at a good price. The vegetarian options were good for our vegetarian. One other in the group liked his meal, but did not remember what it was a few days later. The steaks...to thin with gristle is not how I want my rib eye, may I suggest twice as thick, and better quality steak. I asked for med rare and that was nailed, and the seasoning was nice, just need to start with a better piece of meat."

"Food came timely but service in general was noticeably slow; even though we had told our server up front that we had theatre tickets and had allowed plenty of time for dinner first."

"We went here after seeing a show at DuPont so it was pretty quiet since it was around 5pm. The food is fantastic here over and over again. I don't know who the chef is but he is great!"

"I was visiting DE and Ernest & Scott was recommended to us by our driver. They have decent a wine and beer selection and the food options were fine. Our service on the other hand was terrible! Our server had a terrible attitude and made passive aggressive remarks every time he was at our table. He acted like we were a nuisance to him. I did really like the server in training, Isaac. He was friendly and pleasant and if I go back to this restaurant I would be happy to have Isaac as my server. Really I think the trainee should have been training the trainer."

"E&S is convenient to the Grand so the location was perfect for preconcert dinner. The food was fine but the menu heavy on apps, salads and sandwiches. Service was prompt, courteous and ethusiastic. The facility was not guite what I had expected. The dining area seemed detached from the rest of the place and lessen the experience in our view."

"We went early on a Tuesday so it was quiet. Beautifully decorated. Everyone was friendly. Our server was knowledgeable and gave us some suggestions. The pumpkin ravioli from the tasting menu was delicious as well as the crab gratin appetizer. We also tried the fish tacos (yum) the pear salad and shrimp, scallop and crab risotto. I enjoyed it and will definitely go back."

"My friends and I had a great time at the restaurant. The staff could not have been more friendly and attentive. The food was awesome -- definitely have the burger!! The mini desserts were just right. Will definitely go back."

"Although there was a longer than expected wait for an initial visit from our server, the rest of the service was good. My friend and I both sent our first drinks back, as the tonic was flat. Second drink was much better. Food service thereafter was prompt and tasty. We both had salads, one with chicken. The boneless buffalo wings were good. Our waiter was friendly and attentive."

"The service started out fine with a fun, energetic server. Then our drinks took longer than they should have. Then our food came out in shifts with food-runners who were passing food over others at our table and didn't seem to have a system down for who was to receive which food. The server didn't return to check on us until long after our food was received and then took so long for our new drinks that we were ready to leave before our drinks got there. When clearing our plates, the buser asked "You done?" and asked others at our table to hand our empty plates across one another to him. We were at a circular table in the middle of the restaurant with plenty of room to get around. The food was really good. Service...not so much."

"We enjoyed our first visit here. The cheeseburgers were good. Loved the sauce. A wonderful gentleman greeted us as we entered. Our waitress was wonderful too. All four of us enjoyed our meals."

"I would recommend making a reservation on a weekend evening. We were a group of 6 and were under some time pressure since we had tickets to a show. We had a great waiter named Chris who added to overall experience. The food was very good and everyone in our party enjoyed the evening."

"This was our first visit as we had tickets to The Grand. Noise level was high, as they put us in a booth near the music speakers. Drink selection was a bit limited, except for the beers. We shared the surf and turf sliders which were excellent. I had the beet and goat cheese salad. There wasn't much goat cheese and the raspberry dressing was way too sweet. It was like a jam spread instead of a light dressing. Other than that the food was ok. Probably won't return."
