"If you have a narrow view of Chinese food you are likely to consider the food here way overpriced. If the juxtaposition of the words gourmet cuisine and Chinese does not seem strange to you, you will probably consider this restaurant a gem. Rainbow Palace offers inventive food expertly prepared with nuanced flavors and excellent service."

"Went to Rainbow Palance for Mothers Day. First time there after hearing so many good things about it. The food was exceptional- We shared and they split all of the food for us before sharing which was a nice touch. Waiter was kinda quiet but nice. I would definitely go again."

"This is the best gourmet Chinese south of NYC. I eat here every time I come down to FLL. I took my friends from DC and they were so impressed with the entire experience."

"Food here is a cut above most formal Chinese restaurants. The orange sesame shrimp is divine. Share a few plates with others in your party so you can taste as much as possible. Don't forget the lychee jasmine tea :)"

"Our experience in eating in chinese restaurants in florida has never been par with the quality one finds in Montreal Canada except what we experience last week at Rainbow Palace. After 5 minutes in the place we felt very positive and with the right vibration emotionally ! This was borne out by the atmosphere, attention and courtesy of the maitre D and the menu choices ! The food was excellent and we have already recommended to our friends !"

"I really wanted to like Rainbow Palace...I just didn't. The restaurant is within a mile of my home, so I've always been interested to go there. The view of Oakland Park Blvd. is nothing to speak of, but there seemed to be so many positive reviews that I felt like I was missing something special. The meal for three of us (two shared entrees, rice, soup, two sodas and a shared piece of cake) was $160 including tip. For that kind of money I'd expect something extra-special, and while the food was good, it just wasn't THAT good to justify $50 per/person pricing for Chinese food. The restaurant was relatively busy for a Friday night so there must be people who appreciate high-quality Chinese food, I guess I'm just not among them."

"Best Chinese food in the USA. The flavors are what you expect but with the maturity of well blended spices and the right amount of infusion. Subtle tastes that you've never tasted before. The drinks are also superb and the service outstanding."

"Bland food that looks beautiful but is tasteless. Very expensive, and very disappointing. Service was excellent and restaurant is charming but that doesn't make up for the food"

"Highly overrated. The food was mediocre at best. The duck was fatty and tasteless covered with a moderately tasteful sauce. The steak was tough and again tasteless and covered with sauce. Very pricy for the quality - this restaurant should get a 19 on Zagat - not a 26."

"Visting from New Jersey, I had done some research for the best chinese food in broward and palm beach county. After reading other reviews I fully expected Rainbow Palace to be exceptional and it was in every way. Our waiter, who showed exactly how a professional waiter should be, explained about the restaurant, went over all the specials, the spicing, everything. The food choices couldn't have been better. We started with the Shrimp and Lobster dumplings and they were incredible. Between us we ordered the Orange Sesame Shrimp, the Lobster Tail and Seafood Sauce, and the Chicken with White Wine Lemon Sauce. We finished off with a two flavored chocolate cake and a key lime cheese cake. Although more expensive it is worth the price."

"Gorgeous decor, waiters in tuxedos, warm and welcoming service plus top notch wine list paired with superb Chinese food describes Rainbow Palace. Starting with a crispy spring roll and a bottle of Pinot Grigio, we moved to Orange Sesame shrimp, Spicy Scallops and perfectly cooked snow peas. The shrimp were the size of chicken lobster tails and the scallops were the size of my palm. Both had a light crispy coating that shattered upon first bite...only possible with waterchestnut flour! The orange sesame sauce was piquant, gingery and sweet complementing the juicy shrimp. The scallops were bathed in a dark, garlicky pepper sauce with bits of crunchy vegetables. The snow peas added a sweet counterpoint with a touch or ginger and soy."

"Valentines Day kept the evening from being a total bust, but the restaurant was a disappointment. Bad from the get-go. No host on arrival, and then distracted and barely friendly on arrival. Waiter explained two styles of preparation for salmon, but no salmon avail only yellow snapper. ??? Sat for a long time after meal to order desert only to find NO DESERT???? Really? Its hard to believe this place has such good ratings. Older Clientele, perhaps they come back because of habit......"

"As a Canadian who went to the University of Toronto, has many Chinese friends and lives near Toronto I have been eating Chinese food for forty years. In the greater Toronto area there is a plethora of excellent Chinese restaurants. This is as good as it gets, better than San Francisco. Have dinned here more than ten times in last three years.Get their spin off Dim Sum Har Gow dumpling with lobster. Nothing is a bad choice!"
