"We dined at O3 Bistro last year prior to a symphony performance, so came back this year when the occasion presented itself. A new item on the menu, the Chicken Karaage Salad, was overdressed. One of our party ordered the Spring Rolls, which the menu failed to state were fried (not steamed, which was the expectation). In addition, the Lobster Garlic Noodles were over sauced, & the garlic flavor overwhelmed the other ingredients.

"My husband and I arrived late for our reservation (we had called ahead to let them know), and so we rushed a bit through ordering our dinner (skipping appetizers for example) because we wanted to be able to make it to the beginning of the ballet. "On Wednesday night a friend of mine and I had dinner there and it was great. Food and service both excellent. So when friends wanted to go to a new place for lunch, I recommended O3Bistro. Big mistake. We had reservations and were seated immediately. It then took at least 15 minutes before we ever saw a server. Catamari, which on Wed was excellent, today was tough and reaked of being left over from the night before. Food was not hot and just so-so taste. Another thought of being cooked sometime long before it was served to us. Then as we were finishing entrees, check was plopped down on the table. No "would you like coffee or see the dessert menu." No, just pay the check and get the **** out of here. Totally embarrassed for recommend"

"Perfect location for a pre-ballet meal, 1/2 way between Civic Center parking and the Opera House. The food was quite good, some of the best crusted salmon ever. The chowder soup special was very good as were the seared scallops. The bar area can be quite loud and busy so give a little extra time to make a show (5:45 for 8:00 just made it). For drinks, beware of the chili salted sweet and spicy -- the salt is really spicy, but good. The menu has changed slightly from the website but not significantly. Will likely go again when attending a show."

"We were three people who visited the restaurant. The waiter kindly welcomed us and strongly recommended to eat duck. She told us that it will be tender inside and crispy outside. Two of us decided to order duck. We got tender duck, but the outside was rubber. We were very disappointed and sent the food back out. After 10 minutes came the same duck out again, with the same rubber skin. We gave up and ate the food. The vegetables and rice was now cold, so it was a rather sad meal."

"Great location near the Opera House and we were able to secure a table at the last minute. The ambiance was nice, upscale, if a tad loud. Looking around I was excited to have booked this restaurant for our group, but then we looked at the menu. Nothing for vegetarians! On the entire menu, literally only one item was vegetarian. No veggie appetizers, just one entree. My heart sank, since half our group is veggie. How can a restaurant in SF not have a couple veggie options?! We asked the waitress for help and she suggested two off-menu items. The recommended off-menu appetizer and sole veggie entree were both served with / smothered in the same hoisin sauce so the flavor profile was one-note and exhausting. We'll be trying other places."

"O3 was a pleasant restaurant, reasonably close to Civic Center BART and the Symphony, SF Jazz, and Opera. There was nothing outstanding about it, but it was solid, the food satisfying and the menu pleasantly brief (not too many choices, but plenty of good options--made it much easier to decide.) Our wait person had a VERY heavy accent, but was attentive and professional if a little hard to understand. The bar appeared to be busy, but not crowded, which made it seem like a good place for cocktails. I had the Lavender Vodka Collins, which was lovely."

"It was really close to Civic Center so that was nice to be able to BART in. The ambiance was great - the bar and lounge area were very modern-looking. The food was delicious and quite affordable. "Unfortunately, our experience was overall disappointing. Positively, the food is actually not bad. Our server, a prettier Emmy Rossum type, was friendly and attentive. The place though, lacks some polish. Our appetizers came out less than 3 min. of ordering, which is fine if you're in a rush to see a show in the area, but we never mentioned it. Second, our entrees were on top of our appetizers. They alerted us our entrees were on their way, 10 min into our apps, and we're still clearly eating our apps, so of course every plate was on the table. Could they not have waited/timed it? And the guy handed us our hot plates vs. placing them where he could easily do so. Lacking in many ways."

"We needed a restaurant close to the Asian Art Museum for a quick, early dinner. O3 was an experiment, and turned out to be the perfect choice. The four of us tried different things (carrot soup, spring rolls, pot stickers, salmon, duck, scallops & pork belly, and short ribs). All the dishes were tasty, and presented beautifully. We weren't sure about the pork belly, but it was one of the hits of the dinner. The name and the taste were totally different. Glad we tried it. The noise level we experienced at this early hour was low, but it was early and not yet full, so I don't know if that will be true at a more usual hour. (We were there from 5 to 6:30 before an event at the museum.)"

"Interesting menu, with a fusion take on favorites that does not obscure the reason these foods are favorites in the first place, yet gives them a fresh, vibrant taste. Service is good. When I asked to have my salmon cooked a little more thoroughly, the server obliged nicely, and when it returned, it was perfect. It's a nice option before the ballet or symphony."

"We redeemed a travel zoo voucher, the food overall was well prepared, the yucca chips with the ceviche were not fried properly, some were limp with too much oil while others were so crisp they shattered. The cocktails were tasty. We had a hard time understanding our server even when she spoke slowly. Also, we redeemed our Yelp free appetizer, she put in the order, but the dish never came to the table, when we asked about it, we were informed we could take it to go. The jury is out as to whether we would return or not."

"So far I have been here twice, at the recommendation of a friend, with whom I went the first time. There are so many good things on the menu that I'm anxious to return to give them all a try. I occasionally book for a group of 6-8 people, and intend to do so in the near future. Food is excellent, reasonably priced and the service is friendly and very good and very timely."

"Really liked this place when it first opened. The service and food are now poor. Ribs which used to be fresh now feel like they are reheated. Lamb Chops the most expensive dish were tiny. The waitress seemed to have trouble speaking english and just turned her back on us with out allowing us to finish the order. Cloth napkins are now tiny paper napkins. Where the light used to be low and romantic it is now bright lights which means the atmosphere is like being under Neon lights. There is no music and the whole place feels like it lacks that something special. When it first opened everything seemed to flow and the food was strong and fresh. So disappointing to see somewhere lose its mojo."

"The 4 of us loved it. Modern motif. All different plates and each was delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. Service was great and quick. Had theater tickets and no problem having cocktails, dinner and plenty of time to walk to Orphem."
