Mimosa is a casual French restaurant offering a fresh cuisine with Mediterranean accents.
Mimosa is named after the iconic flower of France's Provence. It's also a French drink made of sparkling wine and orange juice and is served at brunch every Sunday.
Enjoy some classics from Burgundy: Escargots, Gratinee Onion Soup to Roast Duck with fruits of season or try Filet Mignon that goes excellent with any choices of French and Californian wines.
You will also appreciate our salted or sweetened crepes and sandwiches for lunch. You may fall in love with our desserts: Creme Brulee, Cappuccino Truffle or 'Profiteroles au Chocolat'. Every day, there is a new soup, salad or pasta to make your experience more exciting.

"Waited 15 minutes before anyone even greeted us to be seated. Very loud atmosphere. Took forever for us to get a waitress as there was only one server in the entire restaurant! Food was very plain and unseasoned. Would not allow side substitutions even when explaining I have a severe thyroid condition and am currently pregnant (can't eat potatoes etc) did not enjoy our evening there would not recommend."

"Very disappointing after reading other reviews. Only really good dish was the onion soup. Escargots decent but not great Salmon dish on the menu also was just fair. The short ribs of beef tasted like TV DINNER pot roast. The pricing for these entrees far exceeded the quality . The service was friendly and professional but much too slow. We waited 20 minutes to have our dinner plates cleared although we were clearly finished. I think they were short if servers. We dined with another couple and all of us felt the same way. I do not think we will return sorry to say."

"We were hopeful that this would become one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. But were disappointed. We sat outside, which was nice. The owner was very nice and took our order. But the food was just okay. We had onion soup and it was bland. Would have loved for it to have more flavor. I had the special; Coq Au Vin. It was overspiced and again would have preferred a wine flavor in the sauce. The vegetab;es that accompanied it were also not very good. My husband had the Frog Legs which he liked. For dessert we shared the the chocolate cake. It was so ordinary. Nothing creative and didn't even taste like it was baked there(which it supposedly was). Wish the owner success but do not think we will return."

"While the salad and dessert were good, the entrée (braised beef short rib) was tough with a gloppy port wine sauce over the rib. The mashed potatoes were rather tasteless and the vegetables were overcooked and peppery. Very disappointing. One member of our party tried the salmon entrée and liked it."

"This was my third time in 10 days to eat at the restaurant. Iloved it the first to times but last sunday was quite a disappointment. As gpp as the service was the other two times that is how poor it was this time. The restaurant was half full but it took us about 10 minutes to getv someones attention for seating. The waitress took our order but when we wanted to ask for anything we had a hard time getting someones attention. When i complained about the portion of short ribs (my friend got them with me a week before and the prtion was a nice size) instead of the owner bringing out more he first asked if she wanted more. Not very nice of him to put someone on the spot. Being the owner all he had to do was say let me get you more."

"Greeted by the owner, very affable French type. Seated immediately. Menu was varied, good choices at medium price range. Short but adequate and well priced wine list. We had duck and veal; well cooked, well made, very warm plates which is always a plus. service impeccable; we were attended to like family. Ambiance is of a neighborhood, relaxed, little french restaurant and the fare shows it quite well. Will go back."

"This is not your regular french restaurant (no airs). Great service, very friendly and attentive. I had Roasted Half Duck with Fruit of Season sauce which was perfectly cooked & my friend had Braised Beef Short Ribs in a Pinot Noir Sauce that didn't need a knife to cut. I am looking forward to going very soon again."

"Salad at #7.00 was very ordinary, just spring greens with tomato, nothing special. Served in a deep bowl which made it impossible to cut large pieces of lettuce. Mushroom appetizer was good but too oily and no sign of cream as indicated, duck was quite good, veggies nothing special and too much thyme flavor. I wouldn't hurry back."

"It was my third visit there. The first two were outstanding. I lauded that restaurant so that I had to take my out of state visitors there that night. I was disappointed. The waitresses were attentie- the food ( the specials left a lot to be desired)...the other dishes varied from good to excellent. The maitre D' never came over to check on our meals!
I will go back but not on a Saturday! I still will recommend this place but not as eloquently!"

"I have been to Mimosa several times and always enjoy it. The food is good and always tasty. A nice variety on the menu. They have early bird specials and more recently a Groupon. We were greeted with a bread basket. The bread could have been a bit fresher, but was god basic French Bread. My friend had escargot and I had a salad. The escargot was deemed acceptable, the housevsaladvhas always been quite good. My friend had duck, which again was acceptable; I had short ribs which were good. The creme brûlée had a god taste, but was a little runny for my taste. This is a nice, small local restaurant, I'd like to see them my it. The servers have been there from the beginning and are very helpful and efficient. We'll be back soon!"
