Bolero
Located close to the corner of Glenmore and Macleod we are Calgary's first Brazilian BBQ style restaurant. At Bolero the customer is in charge of the timing on our wide selection of churrasco(skewers) to be brought to your table by our Gaucho Chefs. Green means go and Red means stop. A perfect setting for any festive occasion as we offer a wide range of different, cocktails, wine, and beer. Dining with friends and family was meant to be fun, the Brazilian way!

"I keep an open mind when I first visit a restaurant. And I was pleasently surpised and what a feast it was. Bolero is one of the best restaurants that I have ever eaten at. It is value for your money and the food is exceptional. Wonderful variety of meats and the ambience is absolutely great. Keep up the standard. Will definately pass the word around and be back soon."

"Took my husband for father's day. He was in heaven! He loved how he could have so much meat and have it expected that he would do so. I am pretty health conscious and even I enjoyed it. The one fish that they offered was excellent. They have quite a large number of wines by the glass which I really enjoyed. You can even have small tasters to suit whatever you happen to be eating. I would have enjoyed it even more if the salad bar had more veggie type choices and less macaroni & potato salad choices. I had to ask for the one veggie skewer that they offer. Hubby liked the decor; whereas, I found myself longing for a window. Bottom line is that this restaurant does meat very well and little else."

"We had a fantastic Brunch at Bolero's. I was able to score a last minute reservation and it was outstanding! It was our second time and our young daughter's first. It was great for her especially to be able to try all kinds of new things! A real treat for a special day... :)!"

"This is the 3rd time now that we have come from Red Deer to celebrate my Birthday supper at Bolero's. it seems to be a tradition now! The food is very good and a different style than other "normal" restaurants. Definitely a treat to experience Bolero's."

"I am not a meat lover but it was my fiancé's birthday so he got to pick the restaurant. He was in his happy place with all the meat, and I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. Everything was delicious, was a good way to try different cuts of meat to find out what you like, and the grilled fruit was heaven."

"Lots of fun and interactive with servers bringing food all the time. Not recommended as a romantic private dinner but great for a group. We had 5 of us. Meat was awesome and great way to try different cuts of beef and different types of meat. Must do the $40 plan."

"We always enjoy going to Bolero due to the flavor, quality and variety of the meat skewers. The pineapple is awesome too, juicy and full of flavor. The garlic bread was an interesting addition from our last visit and a nice change. We enjoyed all the skewers as they came around and really appreciated that our waiter sent over specific ones that we wanted to resample near the end of our meal. Ordering creme brulee for dessert is a tradition and once again an enjoyable end to our meal. One area that we thought could have been improved is the freshness and quality of the salad bar/cold sides as some were inedible (too chewy calamari ceviche) and a number of others seemed like they had been sitting too long."

"Our night out here was awesome! Food was great, both in the quality and taste as well as $ value.
Service was fabulous and I honestly can't recall the noise level we were tucked back in a booth but could still view the whole Resturaunt, I would say kudos to whoever designed this place, very well done!

"Never a fail for dinner. We dont usually go here during the week, but I really enjoyed it as the restaurant was nice a quiet as it was not as busy. You have to make a reservation everytime; especially on a Friday or Saturday. We always take family here for special occasions or just to hang out with friends. We always have a great experience and the food is fabulous everytime!!"

"First time at Boleros for both of us, we had an excellent time. The meat was fantastic, and the buffet bar was great as well. It was my boyfriends birthday and I had mentioned that on the booking. "I've heard so many good things about Bolero and finally got to experience it for myself. It exceeded my expectations in every way - the setting was classy yet comfortable, the staff were friendly and let us take our time enjoying all the scrumptious food. The meat was tender, juicy, and tasty while the salad bar was just as good, providing a wide range of options. For someone who usually dines on a strict budget I will definitely make the exception to come back again (and again) - it is deinitely worth the cost!"

"I was a little intimidated by the prices, but I knew them going in. In the end, it didn't seem as much as I thought it was going to be, and it was an amazing value for the dollar. I booked the reservation through open table with a number of specific requests for the seating, and relating the the occasion (our wedding anniversary). I didn't really expect many of the requests to be taken seriously, but they absolutely were. We had the best possible table in the restaurant for the occasion. I'm not big on buffet's in general, but as a salad bar, it was pretty good. The rest of the food was amazing (parm pork and habenaro pork took the top honors), and the service was fantastic, especially the attention to detail. Would be great with the kids."

"We can to Bolero for a Graduation Celebration for our two sons. My husband and I have been to Bolero's with a friend a couple of months before and I kept thinking of an occasion when we could return!! The boys had never been before, but they both really enjoyed the food and selection. We also ordered the seafood platter which was also wonderful. Just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, our waiter suggested dessert and the cream soaked sponge cake and creme brulee sounded too good to pass up. The sponge cake was definately a hit and everyone made sure they had at least 2 bites!! Both boys are now looking forward to saving their money for a return trip to Bolero!"

"We visited Bolero for my husband’s birthday dinner, and brought along the whole gang. This included 14 year old twins, and 10 year old princess, and a 3 year old hurricane. The food at Bolero is consistent, straight across the board you are eating quality cuts of meat, cooked perfectly. The salad/sides bar is well stocked with some old time favorites (rice/potatos) and some different treats (Brazilian black bean stew) The kids really enjoyed it, and thought it was fun to try different things.... "We weren't provided menus (I thought seafood was an option, never got offered) so had no idea what we were going to be paying for. The meal was good but I would like to see more hot grilled vegetables. The buffet was half stews which was yucky, they didn't look appetizing. The salad bar had grilled items that should have been hot not cold which was a disappointment. Service was very good. Half way through meal suddenly heard music, wasn't sure where it came from and it didn't add to the experience. No dessert menu was on the table so didn't choose to have one because there no chance to think about it or know the cost prior to purchase."

"I booked my reservation easily online. The price was right for the service and food received. The atmosphere was nice. The salad bar was excellent. The waiters bringing the meat skewers - HOT - so good looking -loved this part the most! I loved my dining experience and I will be back! This place is perfect for special occasions. "The brunch is amazing. It's almost everything the evening dinner has plus a few different items, because it's breakfast of course.
at 21.95 it seems like a great deals.
I would recommend booking a little more in advance for this one. But it was extremely well done. I have been to the eveing one and once everything is done, it's 60$ a person. Brunch was 60$ for 2 people."

"We had looked for this restaurant two years ago when we were visiting from Lethbridge..so happy we finally found it..it is everything we hade been told ...great food..superior staff and the salad bar is to die for!!"

"Finally were able to get a reservation to this popular place. Waiter explained the routine of the Brazilian style (of which were familiar). First the salad and sides bar - low point of evening -disappointed on its size, its location (in the middle of a busy dining area), and small food selection.
Servers were prompt at first serving mostly beef dishes but also chicken and basa- very tasty . Never did get any pork loin. Would like to taste more sea food dishes. Wine service was excellent with a good wine menu to choose from. Of course no room for dessert which is a testament to the goodness of the main dishes. Service was prompt until the end of the evening when we had to ask for lamb and pineapple. Overall still a pleasant evening."

"My girlfriend and I went here for bruch. The food is fantastic, tasty and really good quality. We sampled all the bbq'd items on the menu and not one of them was disappointing. However the pineapple and ham are incredible. The buffet breakfast is amazing with a wealth of variety and quality. This is a great spot for a feast after a rough Saturday night or a nice family occasion and will keep you going all through the day"

"I chose the highest noise level but it states do not recall when actually this was our only complaint of the evening as where we sat was quite noisey. Once some diners left the noise level was much better."

"I went there for my 21st bday, I've been there before with family and thought it would be a fun place to eat. The hostess & waiters where very accommodating to us. They always checked up on how we where doing or if we needed anything. We all had the buffet and it was more than excellent! The food is different but not uncomfortably different. They served the best cuts of beef, ribs, chicken, bass, and lamb chops. Each meat was cooked to perfection and had a distinct flavorful taste. I also brought my own birthday cake & candles, they added sparklers to my cake when they served it to me. Everyone that is a foodie should really go check this place out, you will not be disappointed!"

"My overall dining experience was great! Our server was friendly and very attentive. The other servers who brought the various meats were friendly as well. I would recommend this restaurant for special occasions with family or groups. I would definitely recommend to others and would come back again!"

"We went for Mother's Day brunch - and it was fantastic! The kids loved the "meat on a sword", and sundaes for dessert. And we adults enjoyed the grilled veggies, various cheeses, and crab legs. Decent Eggs Bennedict too. Would definitely go again! (Oh yes, and unlike other places, they did not increase the price for Mother's Day. Kudos!)"
