"My friends and I come here for birthdays and for a girl's lunch...we love it...it is great! The server we had this time was not very good...she forgot which drinks we had and she forgot to take off our buy one get one coupon. But that was the first time we have had that kind of issue and we have come here many times."

"Food was not very good nor was the presentation. Rather pricey for cold food. Only saw the waiter 2x's and they werent very busy. One of the few restaurants I have ever eaten at that didnt serve us any kind of bread or rolls."

"The restaurant was very accomodating for the large group. I had to change the reservation twice because of flight delays and each time the restaurant was accomodating. Out of the 16 diners only one complained that the food was not good but this person had spent many hours of flight delay to make it to Chicago only to be late for dinner. Thank you Crossroads for being so kind and accomodating."

"Ok food but not celebrity chef should be proud worthy. Prices for food and drink are reasonable for this type of venue. Hostess was clueless, server was great. Concert venue has great sound. Skip the "pass the line scam". They pack em in too tight. They only sell general admission to maximize gate. Rips off the band and the customer because all tables, stools and rails are "" reserved for security"" who then sell them for between $75 and $125 each and they and the house pocket the extra revenue"

"THE best steak I have ever had. Hands Down and I am a steak lover. You won't be disappointed at all in the food. Service was top notch. The restaurant was a bit loud, but all the other positives made up for it. Definitely a hit for my customers I took there."

"Disappointing. Ordered the Voodoo Shrimp for $13.99 as an appetizer and then had the Shrimp and Grits for my entree for another $18.99. Learned that both dishes were essentially the same. Both dishes are based on the same mayo-based sauce with several small shrimp. If you pour it over a jalapeno cornbread, it is called Voodoo Shrimp. On the other hand, if you pour it over a rectangle of deep fried grits, then it is called Shrimp and Grits. Neither were that good. The sandwiches and burgers ordered by others in my party were much better although overpriced."

"We went there to eat dinner and listen to the music. We were not seated on the main floor, but in a side room. We asked the server if we would be able to hear okay once the band started. He assured us that we woulsd. There were several tables of folks who were talking extremely loudly, making it very difficult to hear the band. We had to move to a different table, but even then it was still hard to hear. Apparently, all of the amplification is on the main floor. It was a very disappointing evening."

"The menu has changed slightly since the last time we visited so I was disappointed they no longer carried catfish nuggets. The food was okay, not great. When we arrived, there were several empty tables. The hostess said since we didn't have a res, we might want to eat at the bar if we wanted to make it to the concert upstairs in time. I used Open Table and secured a reservation within ten minutes of the current time and she still insisted she could not seat us. I argued that I made a res and there were several empty tables. Luckily her co-host assured me he would make sure we sat asap. I don't understand the logic behind the hostess refusing us, but we were able to sit almost immediately. Unfortunately, the food was sub-par."

"Pretty much what we were expecting. The food was tasty, and the band on the dining room stage very entertaining. We allowed 1 hour for dinner, but could have stayed a little longer to listen to the band. We then went upstairs for a concert which was very convenient. There was a long line on Saturday night for a dining table, so having an Open Table reservation was helpful. They seated us right away.

"We had a great time! I was worried with it being St. Patrick's day that our reservations would not be ready, and we got right in! It was nice after walking around Chicago all day to walk in and be escorted right to our table. Our waitress was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The noise level was very high, but that was to be expected, and the new 21 year olds I was with were happy with the noise! Our food was amazing. I had their beer cheese soup and it was the best I have ever had. I also had the Corned Beef and Cabbage and it was delicious. My daughter had the grilled salmon, and we both agreed it was the best we have had in a long time. Her friend had the french dip, and the serving was so generous she could not finish it all!"

"We picked House of Blues because of the location and the menu. We arrived at 5:30 and finished around 8. Normally I would not mind having my dinning experience take that long when I am with good friends and not in a hurry, but our service was so bad it made it uncomfortable. We did not get our drinks until 6:15 and our server was very confused about the drinks and he seemed very distracted. The ambiance of House of Blues is very cool and interesting; We were able to take some great pictures. Aarón Sanchez's menu did not disappoint. We had the vegetable flat bread with goat cheese to share and we all agreed it was spectacular. I wanted to go there to try his menu and I was very pleased. All and all we would go back again for the food."

"I have visited 3other house of blues most recently on beal street. This locates has really inferior food. The bar bq sauce is red tomato paste more suitable to be called pasta sauce. I sent my ribs back due to this horrid sauce. Don't try the backed beans as they are awful. Such a disappointment."

"We had a reservation but we had to wait 10 minutes. Even though my boyfriend and I had no problem at all waiting (we didnt even complain) they gave us a complimentary dessert for the wait. Everyone very friendly and even though it was packed none of the staff seemed to loose their cool."

"If you're attending a show at the House of Blues, it's great to be right there! We bought tickets to the show through Ticketmaster and got a coupon for a free appetizer at the Crossroads. Our friends also had a coupon for a free appetizer, but because we were at the same table we could only use one of the coupons. If they had been seated at another table, they would have gotten the free appetizer.
My husband and I had the lobster mac and cheese and it was very good. I ordered a salad (not included) that was pretty standard. Our friends ordered items from the special Mardi Gras menu and seemed to enjoy their meals.

"I have always eaten here on Sundays so I am not sure if there is music other nights in the restaurant but it has been the reason why I go back on Sundays. Always great bands, it's like having dinner and a show for the price of a sandwich. Atmosphere is always vibrant and eclectic. This is the perfect location if you are staying at Hotel Sax."

"Great food and cool ambiance. It was a realitively quiet Thursday evening (8pm), but they still had a musician, with a live band at 9pm. We have three kids (ages 4, 6, and 9), and they fit right in. Rather pricey, but you get big portions of decent food, and an awesome vibe. Waiter was fantastic."

"The whole experience is exceptional with one critical flaw. The flaw resides with the coat check process and cost of $5.00. This is extremely unreasonable and is discouraging to all. Everyone in the restaurant had their coats on their chairs or sitting next to them. Low cost coat check may get more people in to fill those seats.
The band was exceptional! The waitress was on her game and always available. Thanks for the memories."

"I really like HOB,and think their food is well worth the trek. My only quibble is that this place is SO SLOW. We ordered food as soon as the waitress came by to get our drink orders, and she refilled our cokes twice while we waited for salads. As soon as the salads came we asked for our check (because we knew by that point that we were running late), but even with trying to hurry things along as much as possible, we couldn't get out in under nearly an hour and a half. This was lunch, folks. Something our office tries to limit to an hour and really frowns on 50% more time. I would make this a regular stop if they were a bit more prompt."
