"Was convenient to graduation and great food and service. Nice guitar music. We were seated in an area where there were no other people, which was weird, and kind of creepy. All empty tables around us. Not sure what that was about. Chef came over to chat which was really nice and appreciated."

"Everything was very good. The only thing we noticed was that by 1pm there were almost no so many variety of desserts. The dessert area looked a little bit empty."

"We made reservations months in advance for graduation dinner. At no time did Preston's disclose that the night of graduation would be a buffet. It was not until the 9 of us came at our appointed time did we find out this was a buffet. What are you suppose to do then, especially with one elderly family member in a wheel chair? I heard my father tell my mother, "I can't do a buffet" because of his instability. Everyone from 20 to 83 was disappointed it was a buffet. I had copied and emailed the menu from Preston's web site to all when reservations were made. It is very rude and embarrassing of Preston's to put us in this position. Horribly rude."

"We came to Preston's while we were in town for our daughter's college graduation. The brunch was lovely. There were large ice sculptures and sculptures of melons throughout. The food presentation was very nice and the food was both plentiful and delicious. We had the breakfast buffet the day before and it was also wonderful."

"For Christmas I took my mother to Preston's for brunch. We loved it! Reasonably priced. Mimosas included! She LOVED (she's 79) the made to order waffles and omelets and went back three times! Even the coffee was dark roast and delicious. However, the mother's day brunch? NOT so great. Bigger scale. No omelets (who has a brunch buffet without omelets?), pre-made waffles, hockey puck Eggs Benedict., cedar plank salmon as dry as the plank it was served on. Mimosas not included. Overpriced. I will not go back for their Mother's Day brunch, perhaps for another of their smaller special occasions..."

"A rare find in Blacksburg, as most restaurants cater to college kids. Awesome food, excellent wine list, and superb service. Ambience is lacking due to design of dining room but still a great place."

"This restaurant is located in the Inn at Virginia Tech. The breakfast buffet was delicious and I would recommend peoplewho are staying at the inn to purchase the Bed & Breakfast package. However, dinner was just ok. It is a hotel, and therefore the menu was limited, and some of the items we ordered didn't meet our expectations. My advice...stick to breakfast!"

"The quality of Preston's Sunday brunch, while still good, has declined since we started eating there several years ago. What was once an elegant feast at $16.95, is now a more modest brunch affair at $19.95 Even the pleasing piano entertainment has ben replaced with a guitar player. Despite these changes, it is still an oasis in a proverbial desert."

"I really like this place. The only issue is that after going in a regular basis you can get tired of the same dessert variety. Overall is a nice place for lunch."

"When I arrived, I stood for about 10 minutes before anyone even seemed to notice I was there. There was a little snobbery from a bearded waiter that just brushed past me like I was inconveniencing him. When I finally did get seate, the lovely young woman that served me was full of energy and delightful. The food was pleasant, ambiance was adequate, prices were reasonable. It is a decent place to eat in Blacksburg, just don't show up near the end of the night."

"Overall excellent experience. We had a reservation for a business dinner and arrived in the middle of a surprise winter snowstorm. To accomodate an unanticipated large number of guests and travelers without reservations the restaurant opted to offer a buffet dinner only for the evening. Due to the nature of our dinner the buffet was not ideal. The dining room mgt picked up on our dissapointement and provided our group with full menu service. Both food and service were excellent even though they were overwhelmed with a large crowed."

"For the price, I found the Easter Buffet to be very mediocre. They had ham & lamb (neither were anything special)--they should also have had roast beef. The seafood and dessert selections also left something to be desired. It was convenient, since we had spent the previous night at The Inn at Virginia Tech. I doubt that we would eat there again or recommend it as something really good to anyone. Sorry!"

"I was disappointed with the quality of the "champagne" Sunday brunch. I expected it to be an upgrade from the daily breakfast buffet at Preston's, which is excellent. The special brunch buffet was significantly worse. It was held in a crowded, unpleasant ballroom and did not have the breakfast items from the usual buffet. The description of the Sunday brunch from the Preston's website is very misleading and includes:made-to-order omelets (none) a wide range of delicious hot breakfast entrees (pre-made Western omelet or french toast. that's it.)waffles (none) assorted pastries and breakfast breads (none) house-made soups (none) fresh fruits and berries (none) Preston’s Signature Bread Pudding (none)"

"Entire experience was satisfactory. I would not tell a friend 'You've gotta go to Prestons" for brunch. Would tell them it was good, and that price was not exorbitant but would probably not go out of my way to recommend."

"The lunch buffet is great! There are lots of choices and the offerings were fresh and hot. There were two soups - it was hard to decide which one to try - Italian Wedding soup is one of my favorites. It was very busy - the restaurant looked to be full but the server was friendly and attentive."
