Bella Tori at the Mansion
Respectable ladies & proper gentlemen used to convene in the parlor for a drink and a bit of conversation before adjourning to the dining room. It was a chance for everyone to transition from the frenetic pace of the outside world to the more leisurely & luxurious one of the dinner table. Sadly, this is a tradition that has vanished in our modern world. But, not at Bella Tori. Housed in an elegant mansion, this restaurant which means “Beautiful Tower” in
Italian, Provides guests with a Victorian atmosphere & northern Italian cuisine that will calm even the most work weary heart. The rack of lamb which is particularly well prepared, as are the sea scallops over basil polenta. Enjoy! Lifestyle Magazine: This Victorian Mansion was built in 1895, and restoration began in 2000.In converting the Mansion into a northern Italian Restaurant, we have stayed true to all of the Mansions history & beauty.

"Dining in a mansion is wonderful. Although there were 2 functions going on while we dined we couldn't hear then and they didn't effect the timeliness and quality of our food or service. It was a week nite and the dining room only had a few guests. The tomato soup was the highlight of my meal. I will order it when ever I go. My husbands stuffed shrimp were delicious. I found my pecan crusted chicken to be a little dry and uninspired. Perhaps a little more of the sauce would have helped. For a fine dining location we found the prices to be reasonable. We forgot our left overs on the table and when I returned 15 minutes later they had then bagged and waiting for us. Very thoughtful!"

"The tomato and french onion soups were delicious and warming on an unusually cold Spring night. We have been here several times, and always order different dishes and have never been disappointed. Our server, Lauren, was attentive and delightful. The restaurant is beautiful, warm and inviting. The classical guitar music and byob make it a wonderful way to spend a Friday night!"

"I'm on the bubble as to whether I'll return again. The food and ambience were good. The service was slow and lacking. Just like a three legged stool, the all three components are needed to support the restaurant. Disappointment in one area will cause the stool to fall over."

"This is a lovely place, recently done, with a primarily Italian menu of well-made, sometimes excellently prepared foods; the osso buco was spectacular,. Service was well-paced, even a bit on the slow side, but this was perfect for an unrushed birthday dinner. We felt it was a tad overpriced for the dishes they offered, but would return for another special occasion."

"An elegant place with wonderful food. We've only gone twice now but we definitely plan on returning. It's a gorgeous place that looks like it would be over priced but is very reasonable & the food is excellent. Definitely now one of "our" go to places."

"Years since I last visited but always a nice experience. Opinion of some is for the place to be a little stuffy but my guests and I always have an enjoyable time, it is what you make it. Food always prepared carefully and tasty. Music that evening was right on the mark. Our server was charming and very accommodating yet overall the staff could use a little polishing if a finer dining experience is the goal. And manager/sommelier was friendly and knowledgable. We had a wonderful evening but I guess I was just always looking for that little extra effort that was missing."

"The ambiance of the Mansion is delightful, bright and airy. The service was excellent, with the exception that desert took an extraordinary amount of time to arrive. The food was presented nicely, prepared well and excellent to taste. Good night out for a special evening as this can be fairly pricey since most items are priced separately. "Disappointing. The service was sub-par. Our waitress (Jeanette) apologized when she saw me falling asleep waiting for our dinner and blamed it on the kitchen being backed up, due to a wedding. Why were so many people booked if you couldn't handle it? POOR management!
Pasta fajoli soup was good but was not pasta fajoli. It was a vegetable soup. Should have opened a cookbook to see how to make real past fajoli soup.
Salmon and pasta: Very skimpy on the salmon. They took advantage of the darkness of the dining room to make the potatoes in the meal salmon color. So you thought you were getting loads of salmon when in fact you were getting loads of potatoes! "Where's the salmon?"

"I had a seafood misto. Mussels, shrimp and grilled chicken over risotto in a cream sauce with corn and carrots. The sauce overpowered the dish, the risotto was under cooked and the grilled chicken was dry and tough and couldn't be saved even with the sauce. My girlfriend had the grilled stuffed pork chop and it was OK, however at $37 it wasn't worth the price. Desert (a chocolate cake) wasn't moist and was only fair. I have had good meals at Bella in the past but this was very disappointing."

"Bella Tori was quite a fortuitous local find! My husband and I gave it a try on a Friday eve because of their entertainment - a classical guitarist. We were completely 'wow-ed', between the atmosphere, the music, service - and of course, the food! It immediately went onto our 'favorites' list, and we will return and also take guests. No wonder it has earned "Best of Bucks Co". If you are considering dinner at the Bella Tori - do not hesitate. You will not be disappointed."
