"We were looking for a low-key dinner in Napa. This is more than just a pizza place (though they were really good). The pasta dish was excellent. This restaurant offers a reasonable price point and good options for a casual meal. They also had a low price corkage fee, if you were interested in BYO. Good beer and wine list. Excellent salads. We dined at the fantastic REDD the following evening, and enjoyed both that upscale experience and this casual one. Both were great."

"The spring salad with Green Goddess dressing was a taste marvel, the ultra-thin crust pizza was very flavorful and combined realy interesting tastes and textures. We had the chicken liver toast, which was really creamy and flavorful, easily enough for two to share with the salad. Outside seating was very comfortable and service was efficient and not pushy or hovering."

"We shared an Asparagus Tonnato appetizer. Absolutely fresh and delicious and the flavors went together for a lovely spring dish. We also shared a Mushroom pizza with pancetta and red onions on a wonderful crisp thin crust. I will go on record saying its the best pizza I've ever eaten! Buon Appetito!"

"Overall, we found the food at Redd Wood to be "good," or at least not bad. The service was good, and the ambience was pleasant. Still, our first experience at this restaurant was a major disappointment. The food, particularly the main courses, were not up to what we'd been led to expect by reviews and, to a certain extent, by the prices. The meatball appetizer we shared was delicious, and the artichoke salad was very good (although the artichokes were not abundant). However, our main dishes, the goat cheese pizza and rib eye steak, were disappointing. The pizza was average at best, and the steak, while good, was accompanied by only a few potato pieces, most generously described as "not bad." Dessert allowed the meal to end well."

"Richard Reddington, the chef behind Redd - one of the Napa Valley's premier restuarants - is also responsible for Redd Wood - a casual pizzeria located at the North end of Yountville. The menu is short - half a dozen starters, the same number of pizzas, three or four pastas, and the same number of main entrees. We've enjoyed our previous meals, but last night every dish was heavily salted. Service is warm and friendly - our waitress was utterly charming - and unbelievably SLOW - she did a great job of making each of her six tables feel at home - if only she had remembered to serve the food. The wine list is uninspired. The room is sparce - lots of hard edges - dark, in spite of floor to ceiling windows."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Redd Wood. The calamari appetizer was perfectly seasoned. The warm olives were a nice touch. "We had a reservation for a Wednesday night(5:45) which was my only choice other than 9:00. Since we had my 85-year old mother with us, we opted for the early sitting. There were two other tables occupied - but that was it. We were seated at the only table with direct sun exposure and as the sun set, we were unable to escape the glare. The window is not equipped with any kind of blind to combat this. Even though there were other more suitable tables totally unoccupied, no one offered to move us. Clearly the staff was aware of this problem. They could have seated later patrons at the table once the sun had set. They could have easily moved us or, even better, not seated us there at all."

"So, I took the wife as part of a surprise birthday weekend. Neither of us had dined there previously, but both of us were extremely happy that we did that night. The decor and ambiance were beautiful, and the service fantastic. We started with the Calamari Fritto Misto with Aioli sauce for dipping, which was to die for. Next had the spinach spaghetti carbonara. It was exquisite. Lastly, we had the canolli washed down with limoncello(we had ordered moscato, however there was none in the restaurant. To the credit of the restaurant, the limoncello was comped because of the moscato incident.) All in all, it was a dining experience that was second to none, with superior service and outstanding food."

"I wanted to like this place -- Redd (the original restaurant) gets so many positive comments. But this was just a pizza place that thinks too highly of itself. Pizza was nothing too special, and the staff is pretty pompous. For example: their "front door" is on the side of the building and their "side door" is on the front. We went in the wrong one and got treated like we were idiots."

"My husband and I went to Redd Wood because it was Michelen recommended so we had pretty high expectation. Don't get me wrong the food (especially the pizza) was very good but it did not cut it for what I would expect for a Michelen recommended restaurant. I would definately recommend this place for lunch not for dinner and it is family friendly so I will probably eventually come back with my children. I would recommend the restaurant but just don't have high expectations... you might be disappointed."

"Redd Wood has been on our list for a long time now though we'd never actually gotten around to trying it until this weekend. Everything about our experience was great--we were seated a few minutes before our reservation, really liked everything our waitress suggested (meatballs, ravioli, pizza, dark chocolate and sea salt tart and milk chocolate ice cream with peanut praline--yum!), and enjoyed the ambiance of the place--tons of good people watching, lively atmosphere. We will be back for sure!"

"Redd Wood is a fun restaurant! The staff is warm and welcoming and they know that you are coming there to have a good time. There is a great vibe to the place and you know that you are going to enjoy good food and good libations. The cocktail list is great with some different twists to some old favorites. We had "The Bartlett" and "No Yo Manhatten." The minestrone soup was great as was the chopped salad. We shared the special pizza with meatballs. We finished the meal sharing the chcolate tart (outstanding). Our wine selection was the Italian Banditella which went very nicely with the pizza. We had a great time and will definitely be back!"

"The various seating options makes it easy to please anybodies tase. The servers are outstanding and lovely. Angela, our server was an absolute darling. The pizza was amazing, wood oven fired stoves just make the difference. The burrata was loveley, just a little too much oil for our taste. The toasted bread was really nicely spiced and perfectly roasted. The Raviolo lacked a little of the promise it made when described. The spinach ricotta filling was luke warm and "too blended". The truffle slices a good amount seemed a little dry. The chocoltae tart with seas salt on a florentine was very good.
