"Portions are small for the entrees and large for appetizer dishes. Definitely a better place to go in groups so you can share and sample the menu, especially with the menu offering around 20 or so items. Cocktails are delicious but on the pricier range but this is a place to splurge so drink up and eat up and enjoy life!"

"The food here is heavy. Very heavy, lacking balance, maybe a sweet note, or some acid, anything to cut the richness. I'm not saying that the food isn't good, out of the 7 dishes we ordered we LOVED 2 of them, not counting dessert. The two desserts we ordered were mind blowing, as were the house made sodas. We would go back, but only for dessert. Super loud in this place."

"we have dined here several times. Each tasting is superior to the last visit!
It has a little too much noise though and we would enjoy the comestables more with less vibration noise. May need more acoustic support. Some fabric on the walls would help. In the meantime we are greatly enjoying the food with earplugs."

"Great restaurant with really interesting vision for their food. The combination of ingredients and flavor profiles in every dish made for a really great meal. Our waiter Mikail was very nice and extremely knowledgeable with his recommendations. I highly recommend the steak tartare and the mountain yam dessert. Delicious!"

"We profited from the fact that we were a group of 5, and sampled at least 15 of the dishes on the menu. Highlights included the tartar with horseradish dust, the branzino and the greek yogurt with elderflower dessert. Every dish unique, flavourful and a delight. Don't know when I'll be be back - but hope it's soon!"

"I've been serveral times and have had such a wonderful experience each time. Every dish is absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend the egg yolk gnocchi as it is one of my favorite dishes at ink. The coffee makes for a great after dinner treat.
One thing that will not be lacking is the outstanding service."

"I was not blown away as I expected to be and could not get over the cold burratta. I found the flavors a little too mild. However, that said - its definitly a special occasion restaurant, great service and good food. Feels like ti deserves a second chance for sure."

"No indications on menu that a larger portion of selections were cold. Set the tone for a bad start when first 3 plates were cold. Cold and unappetizing. The last 5 dishes were hot and delicious. The dessert apple something was also mediocre at best. Disappointing as a whole but there were some standout dishes ie: gnocchi & corn."

"After 2 friends highly recommended it, we gave Ink a try and we weren't disappointed! The food was delicious and the presentations were practically works of art. The hamachi came looking like and underwater sea scape. Everything was delicious. We enjoyed the corn, avacado crab and egg yolk gnocchi. The cocktails are really inventive and delicious too. The waitress was super nice."

"After reading the rave reviews for Ink and having dined at Volt, I made reservations at Ink to celebrate my fiance's birthday. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the service was excellent. The menu appeared to be interesting with several odd items fit for foodies. The food on the other hand, although well prepared, was below what I had expected with regards to the combination of flavors and textures. The highlights were the potato charcoal, the beef tartare. We were disappointed by the cuttlefish, the duck rillette and the beef short rib, which had an unappetizing portion of tendon. There are several restaurants, at a similar price point, that are superior to Ink."

"I have now been to both Ink, Michael Voltaggio west coast gem, and Volt, Brian Voltaggio east coast little piece of heaven. Ink is LA chic. The food is all you can ask for. Michael takes local fresh ingredients and makes them pop with flavor and creativity that is hard to imagine. The service was good and very knowledgeable but seemed a little frantic throughout the night however it in now way affected our meal. The oysters with mignonette ice was one of the best courses I have ever had and the mountain yam desert was the best desert I have ever had. Final decision if you are in LA, Ink is a must but if you are in the Baltimore/DC area a trip to Volt should not be missed."

"Our server explained the menu as tapas style, recommending 5-6 dishes for 2 people. I said I was vegetarian, and could see veggie options, but I'd be happy to hear what she recommended. "I dined at ink. a few weeks ago and flew back to LA from Chicago to eat there again. It was well worth the trip. My favorite dishes last time were the octopus with ink. shells, the branzino, and the hibiscus dessert. This time, the cuttlefish and apple dessert with burnt wood semifreddo were standouts - delicious! The drinks are fantastic (esp. the aquavit). Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall a great dining experience. Seeing Chef Voltaggio in the kitchen was a great perk!"

"This was my first time at Ink and It won't be my last! The staff was well trained and attentive to every need which started when I made the reservation! The space itself is inviting and romantic but the food is the most notable part of the experience! My friend and I tried several menu items including the asparagus, corn, cuttlefish and charcoal potatoes which were all fabulous! We topped it all off with the chocolate Nutella dessert and were not disappointed! I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting a truly wonderful dining experience!"

"I've followed Michael Voltagio since Top Chef and looked forward to experiencing his restaurant.
All 3 of us walked out hungry and extremely disappointed.
The noise level was too loud and the restaurant was freezing!
Cocktails... i ordered wine which was served within a few minutes, while my 2 friends ordered martinis that took about 20 minutes to arrive. Unacceptable! The menu was difficult to discern, and the food was either too, too salty, too oily, or fried. The branzino was tough and no flavor. I think He's trying for something "unusual" but, in my opinion, it's too expensive for spending a cold, noisy night eating salty food that never had us say "spot on!" You can have it... maybe we're putting our money on the wrong brother."

"This trendy hotspot had fabulous food. The most memorable was the surprisingly the cuttlefish. I could have sworn this was a pasta dish. Other favorites include the egg yolk gnocchi, the lollipop kale (w/ pigs ear), corn and branzino. I also loved the suckling pig and short ribs. The small plates make it possible to try lots of things!"

"Yes, just Food. Or, alternatively, Drink. Ink likes to keep things simple when assigning names to its dishes and drinks. The outstanding Bourbon cocktail (with Campari, Cocchi Americano Rosa, chocolate bitters and strawberry lambic) was a highlight, as were several of the dishes we ordered - notably the aspagus, lamb's neck and octopus. The suckling pig was a bit too rich and the hamachi was fine but not especially memorable. The Handsome coffee had a cool, "Breaking Bad" style presentation (much like Intelligentsia used to do), but the result was a rather thin cup - though it did serve as a nice accompaniment to our terrific shared dessert, the wild mountain yam (deliciously smooth and custardy) with vanilla ice cream and coconut sorbet."

"4 of us went for a birthday celebration and had a wonderful time. The chef and owner won top chef and was there working and greating his guests. He as warm and friendly. Everyone who worked there was also the ame. They were warm, friemdly.knowledgable. john our waiter was exuberant about describing the food but the servers who delivered th dishes also took a moment to describe the dishes as each tapa was uniquely made. We spent 3 hours tasting food."

"This was such a great experience for my girlfriend and I. She is a huge Top Chef fan. I surprised her with a trip to Ink. When she saw Chef Michael Voltaggio, she could not contain her excitement. The food was amazing and priced very well. The service was excellent and the waitress took the time to answer all the questions we had. She was very knowledge about how the food was prepared and what ingredients went into each dish. We were there for dinner on a Tuesday night and the place was packed. I would go back with out a doubt."

"Ink is hands down one of my favorite restaurants to dine at in la. Every dish here is creative and presented beautifully. The flavors for each dish complement each other really nicely. Not a single thing on here is bad. I've tried every food item on the menu except for 5 dishes and my favorites are still the beef tartare, lollipop kale, lamb neck, and apple dessert. For drinks, The cocktail menu is tasty and exciting. Gabby is a wonderful mixologist!"
