The Little Village - Airline
A modern take on the original Village restaurant (established in 1947), our reputation is for serving Baton Rouge’s finest Italian, Prime Beef, Maine Lobster, Veal and fresh Gulf seafood. The Airline location features daily specials, a full bar and can accommodate private parties for up to fifty. We also have space for up to 15 guests in our bar area where dinner is also served.

"We chose this restaurant for a 1:00 PM Sunday brunch, and noted the small number of cars in the parking lot as compared to other restaurants we passed by. Our family includes some Italian heritage, and we dine out often. We would describe the food as fair, but we are very discriminating. The waiter was very attentive, and after forgetting to bring the calamari appetizer we ordered, brought it out for free. The sauces were okay, but relatively bland, The bread was okay, but nothing special, and the trout almondine was a bit dry. Salads were standard fare at any restaurant. Entree portions were large enough to split, which we did. Chicken and veal were okay, but again, nothing special. Didn't try the desserts."

"We went for a Mothers' Day dinner. I wanted to like this place - the atmosphere was casual elegance. The promise of the menu got my hopes up. We started with the "must have" bread, and my impression was it doesn't live up to the hype. Greasy and overly cheesy to cover up a very average Italian loaf. Our server was overall I knowledgeable about menu offerings or wine list. The appetizers arrived almost immediately following the salads. Our party had a wide offering of entrees, but the consensus was "meh". Pasta was mediocre, slightly overlooked, and drowning in sauce. The sauce itself was bland, and had an out of the jar flavor and consistency. Cream sauces were similarly bland. In summary, for Italian, you can find much better."

"We were promptly seated near a swinging door to the kitchen after arriving. Food great. Service above par, but the traffic in and out of the kitchen made for an unpleasant atmosphere. Waitress was very apologetic when we mentioned this and even said that the table shouldn't be used. After very politely suggesting to the manager upon exiting that the table should not be used, he indicated that we got the table because we had booked our reservation "over the Internet." We were shocked."

"My husband and i wanted a nice, new and delicious dinner after a very stressful week. We'd never been to little village before but we had heard of its praise so we decided to give it a try. After having the amazing bread, we ordered, and we were very disappointed. The spaghetti tasteful like chef boyarde, and the veal as my husband put it was the worst meal hes ever had."

"We have been celebrated our anniversary at the Little Village many times and have never been disappointed. This was the first time I have ever used the Open Table and I was very impressed how easy it was. "When you walk into the doors the hostesses greet you with a warm smile and try to accommidate you any way that they can. The servers are also so attentative. Your glass is never empty and they always make sure everything is just right. Hugh, Sergio and Laila do an excellent job as managers coming by your table to make sure eveything is just right.

was because about 45 yrs. ago this same thing happened at your original restaurant only they gave us a table by the kitchen which obviously was not regular seating. Both visits, 45yrs ago and now, was our anniversary. The lobster we ordered was a disapoint-
ment due to being tough and also the sticker shock when we got our bill."

"Food took extremely long to be served. It wasn't the waiter's fault. There was a rehearsal party there also. Kitchen could not keep up with party and the rest of the restaurant. Two things I suggest. Either bring in extra help for the kitchen, or do not accept business from regular customers. Because not just me, but everyone else waited entirely too long. Also my wife was pregnant, you don't keep a pregnant woman waiting and starving."

"My husband and I just tried this location for the first time to celebrate our 3 Year Anniversary! I had the softshell crab dish with the rich sweet cream sauce with lump crab meat and crawfish tails on top, and my husband had the butterflied, seafood stuffed filet with mushrooms and au gratin potatoes. When they say lump crab meat and seafood stuffing...they MEAN Seafood! There were so many large pieces of crab meat that I thought they were artichoke hearts! So big, sweet, and delicious! The food was Superb and totally rich and decadent! We were totally impressed! Overall, this place is wonderful and we will definitely be back again!!! :o)"

"From the reservation to the dessert, everything was great. The staff that we encountered seemed to be pleased we chose The Little Village Airline and they made us feel welcome. A special thanks to our waiter, sorry, I don't remember his name, who delivered a very, very nice service. All the food was prepared to our order and served without delay."

"Everyone enjoyed their food. The entire meal was delicious. The red sauce is probably the best I've ever had-although I was full, my entree was so good, I kept eating it!!! Our server was excellent.
I wasn't sure what to expect from this "strip mall" location... It was a very pleasant experience-from the hostesses all the way to the bussers. Not much ambience beyond the restaurant standard, but made it appropriate for bringing the kids along. It was a very busy Sunday, so it was a bit loud."

"For two people and a bottle of wine we spent $100 on the meal, without the tip. With that being said, it is a chunk of change I would prefer to not spend here again. The whole experience here was bland - Nothing was bad, nothing was great. Diners could get much more for comparable prices elsewhere…."

"The service at the bar was great. The bartenders were friendly, attentive, and helpful. In the restaurant the service was not so great. The service was slow. The restaurant was very busy. It took forever for the courses to come out to the table. The food was disappointing. My appetizer, the roasted artichoke bottoms with crabmeat was okay. I was in the mood for basic Italian pasta so ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce wasn't rich nor complex nor particularly flavorful. The meatballs were over-salted. My companion had the pasta with clams. She wasn't impressed either. The restaurant atmosphere is nice. It's too bad that it just can't deliver the goods."
