"For the price, I was hoping for a much larger selection of items. I didn't realize that it was a "make shift" brunch buffet and not something they offered every Sunday. If I had known it wasn't standard for them, I would not have chosen them for a Mother's Day brunch buffet. The service was excellent though."

"On our first visit to Sustenio the staff was well informed and very attentive. The ceviche choices demand another visit since I only tried and enjoyed the salmon. My husband ordered the seafood tart for his appetizer and it was as outstanding as advertised. The mixed greens salad was fresh with a preponderance of arugula however the four individual glass stoppers with oil and vinegar was gimmicky and lacked flavor. My husband's pork tender was beautifully prepared and presented and was delightful to our taste. The amberjack was good but needed a different vegetable pairing or a fruit accompaniment. For dessert we enjoyed the fresh apple tart with goat milk ice cream. We will bring out of town guests the next time."

"My husband and I went to Sustencio to celebrate our 11th Anniversary. The staff immediately wished us a Happy Anniversary and were very kind and welcoming. We do not do the whole 'fine dining' thing very often, and I am sure this was obvious. However, we were treated no less special and welcome. The food was DELICIOUS! I don't ever remember tasting anything so delectable! We savored each bite. Even the salad was unconventionally the best I've ever had! Instead of croutons, there were these warm, fried squares of sweet cornbread. My husband had the beef tenderloin, and I had the Rack of Lamb. The atmosphere was romantic and inviting. I was dressed up, he was business casual, but there were some people casually dressed. Go eat here!"

"THE SHRIMP AND SALMON CEVICHE WERE EXCELLANT, THE SCALLOP CEVICHE NOT AS FLAVORFUL. ENJOYED THE SEARED PRESSED DUCK APPETIZER WITH THE FUN/SURPISING BLUE CHEESE POP ROCKS. "Hands down the beef tenderloin is the best we have ever ordered. Not even San Antonio's 5 star "steak houses" have come close to creating such a tender, melt-in-your mouth, delectable experience. So much so that we asked if we could speak with the chef to personally thank him. We have much respect for his talents and hats off to you all.

"I took three of my five girls there for a special night out with mom over spring break, it was amazing!! My husband and I are foodies and have passed this on to our girls, all of us ate every bit!! Outstanding, cooked perfectly. We had the filet, scallops, and venison. Posted lots of pix to facebook recommending our find. You guys got it right!! Can't wait to come back with my hubby.

"Only low note was the measuring of liquor at the bar, very 'cruise ship', and young bartenders more concerned with texting than service. The service in the dining room however was impeccable. Dani was well versed in the menu and wine list with just the right amount of attentiveness and conversation when necessary. The food was thoughtful with very interesting combinations of proteins and herbs and spices. All was prepared as it should be and we enjoyed the evening very much. We will come again at some point. They should take a barkeep note or two from Perry's and hire seasoned mixologists who care about their craft."

"We had dinner at the restaurant twice and both times the food and service were excellent. The sous vide venison loin was amazing as were the ceviches (we tried the flounder and the ecuadorian shrimp). I highly reccommend the restaurant and the hotel

"Surprisingly poor showing, service-wise, on our V-Day visit. Seemed like they must've had a lot of new waitstaff and maybe didn't have time to get them all trained. We sat for a half hour before our food order was even taken. We had drinks and bread by then, but the drinks took almost 20 minutes after we'd ordered them. Waiter was nowhere in sight and when he was, it was like he intentionally avoided looking at us. Certainly a departure from our previous experiences. Have a dinner party scheduled there for 10 of us Friday. Thought seriously about canceling and finding a new location, but I figure we'll give them one more try. Hope they have their act in order, since we'll be dragging all first-timers there, based on my recommendation."

"My wife and I had a wonderful time celebrating Valentine's Day. We were treated very well upon arrival by the valet attendant, the hostess was courteous, and the waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. Our decision to not have any wine with our meal even prompted a visit by the manager to ensure his staff was treating us properly. The food was outstanding and we will be back again."

"We've enjoyed dining here several times, appreciating the inventive style of cooking, the ambiance of the site, and the outstanding service under the hospitable and expert manager's watchful eye. This time I ordered an entree I'd tried before as did some other people at our table. Had I been with a smaller group, I probably would have asked to send my plate back. It was way too salty. Others' plates of the same menu item were not.
The very high noise level was hard to deal with. On other visits an additional dining room with some sound-proofing had been open but it was closed when we were there this time. The next time we go to Sustenio, we'll ask for a table in that room. If there is no refuge from the noise, we'll pick another restaura"

"After an amazing margarita we ordered ceviche. The stripped bass was fabulous, however the lobster we we unable to taste the flavor of the actual lobster. Then we ordered the rack of lamb and beef tenderloin. We were so disappointed as both main dishes were heavily seasoned with salt (and my friends say I use a bit much of salt) so u can only imagine that is was nearly inedible. It was our anniversary and they sat us at a table with rose petals, which was nice. However the server was mediocre to say the least. We skipped on dessert even though I would have love to try the strawberry flan or carrot cake, but after such a disappointing main course we decided to go elsewhere."

"The food was excellent; the waiter was exceptional; the atmosphere is lovely. However, there were several large and very loud (drunkenly loud) parties that made the noise level excessive. My wife and I could hardly hear each other. I will return to this restaurant but never again on a Saturday night; perhaps it was our mistake for going anywhere on a Saturday night?"

"We went to Sustenio for our anniversary. It wasn't quite what we expected, and even so the service wasn't all that great. The food was a hodge podge of different ingredients and sauces. My lamb had bbq flavored sauce on it! It tasted just like bbq I could get anywhere and was charred on the outside. We felt like we were getting up-selled at every point in the meal, and it was very very loud inside the restaurant. I get "energetic" places, but I couldn't even have a conversation with my husband and he was right next to me. At the end of the meal the server said he couldn't find any dessert menus and apparently spent 20 minutes looking for them. What? The dessert menus were attached to the main menu. It was ridiculous."
