A multiple-winner of Open Table's "Best Overall Restaurant" in South Carolina, Solstice Kitchen & Wine Bar is the partner restaurant of Mr. Friendlys New Southern Cafe and Cellar on Greene. Owner/Executive Chef, Ricky Mollohan, teams up with Chef Alan Boyle to create weekly menus that change to emphasize the seasonal meaning of "Solstice". All menus utilize interpretations of dishes ranging from classic American & French, to Mediterranean & Japanese.

"This was our first visit, but won't be the last. The food was amazing. I had the salmon and it was delicious. My husband had the filet and enjoyed it very much. We both loved our sides. We also had fried okra to share ad what a great way to start the meal! The service was wonderful, friendly, helpful, and not over-bearing. We definitely recommend this restaurant!!"

"It was a wonderful experience. We were cordially greeted. The service was excellent. It was our first time there but certainly won't be our last. Our waiter was knowledgable, helpful and efficient. The food was fantastic. It looked picture perfect. Everything was tasty without being too salty and cooked to perfection. My husband had the flat iron steak that he really enjoyed.I had steak as well that was luscious. The bread was marvelous as well. Didn't get to try the mac and cheese. Good reason to go back soon.We had an early reservation and were the first ones there. It was a relaxed comfortable ambience. I thought the tables were well placed. "Dinner with my sister was lovely. She ad the salmon and I had the pork shoulder. Both were excellent. I found my slow roasted and cartelized pork to be just mouth wateringly delicious it had one crispy side, which I love on pork, yet the meat was fork tender and moist. The potatoes and green beans were a good choice for the sides. My sisters salmon was cooked to order for her,which for me was too well done but that is exactly how she likes it so it was perfect. She ordered the portobello fries as a side. They were very lightly battered and delicious. We were too full to enjoy desert at the table but bot brought home orders of the strawberry spring rolls, which I enjoyed as a late night snack."

"We were traveling between Erie PA and Savannah GA. Checked Trip Advisor for a good spot to have a nice dinner in Columbia. Solstice came up as #1 and now we know why. Just wish we did not live so far away. Everyone should try this restaurant. It is worth the trip."

"My family was in Columbia for my daughter's soccer tournament. We went there as a family and the food was wonderful! My husband had the filet and I had the fried chicken breast. It was a great twist on traditional southern fare. We are looking forward to our next trip to Columbia so we can dine there again!"

"Wonderful dinner, actually chose Solstice Kitchen as the place to go to propose to my girlfriend (now fiancee). Best service I have ever seen in my life. Wine did seem to be the feature, but was not pushed to buy (I don't drink) and if it's possible to ask for servers, you want Shawn, best waiter I've ever seen, my glass never got under half-full. The food was amazing. The manager stopped by both half-way through and at the end to make sure we had a great time, and we did!"

"We had the Salmon and it was cooked and flavored perfectly, although the spinach was a bit over-seasoned. Jonathan, our waiter, really made the whole experience! He was fun and professional, and may have been one of the best waiters we have ever had. The rest of the staff was fun, friendly, and helpful. When my wife told one of the managers how delicious the wine was, she took the extra step of bringing us the bottle and letting us look at it. A very personable and customer service-friendly touch. The place was packed, but we were made to feel like the only ones there. This staff has it together! Overall, we would HIGHLY recommend Solstice to all of our friends, as a great place to have an affordable and delicious meal."

"One of the best restaurants in Columbia hands down. Highly recommend. Service is very attentive and on the ball. Food is top notch. The cocktails are great. Only downside would be West Columbia is a bit out of the way, but it is worth the drive and then some. I will definitely be back there again soon!"

"Intimate atmosphere while still being an open floor plan. The decor is very inviting and current. All of the servers were friendly and efficient. The wine was reasonable and good. Loved the romaine wedge salad. The pork shoulder fell apart with a fork as did the short ribs and were delicious. All of the food was fresh and displayed in a very inviting way. The child entertainment night is a nice feature for parents to have a nice evening while the kids are taken care of in another room. This is also nice for those of us who no longer want to deal with children in a nice restaurant. We felt the prices were very reasonsable. This is our favorite Columbia restaurant. As a member of Open Table it was very easy to make online reservations."

"I have been there many times. But the meal Saturday was the best ever. My fillet was amazing. My wife got the tuna special. She said it was the best meal she had ever had. Both plates were cleaned. Atmosphere was awesome. The staff couldn't have been better.

"The soup du jour was an incredible chicken stew which was like something inspired by your grandmother, only better. Entrees were the customarily well prepared low country fresh seafood and steak dishes with ample side dishes included. We had the lemon blueberry cheesecake boxed for takeout and enjoyed it later at home.Great suggestion by our waiter.
The great food and service rolls on at this gem of a restaurant!
Fortunately, Solstice is around the corner for us, but it would well be worth the drive from Ascot or Downtown."
