"my wife and I ate here on our vacation. We are from the Tampa area down in Florida. For the price to portion size ratio for Wiseguys is a little off. I think they could afford to give a little more mashed potatoes with your meal. they are very good, but when your paying 20 bux an entree, give the customer a little more than a tablespoon. It's not like mashed potatoes are expensive to make. also, the server removed our bread basket without asking if we were done with it. no biggie, but the manger should probably remind the staff at their next meeting that they need to ask the customer first. This place does try to please and i recognize that, just a few pointers i want to add."

"When we asked the waitress about the "interesting wines", she didn't know about them. Suggested one of the chardonnays. No sommelier or help provided. One appetizer-to be shared by two people--was brought to the table, but not the other two appetizers (until we asked for it). Third, of the four entrees, one--the salmon which was requested to be very, very rare--was very overcooked and had to be returned and re-done. Then, for the second entree--a regular portion was ordered and a petite portion was delivered. When asked, the waitress acknowledged it was incorrectly the wrong size portion and she brought out another piece of the short rib on another plate. The other two entrees were very good. Not enough room for all the other issues."

"First of all, reservations were very easy to make and we were actually seated before our scheduled time- on a Saturday night! Our waiter (Robert) was very attentive, but not in our faces- we had everything we needed and he was on top of everything, but we didn't feel pressured or hurried at all. I had the petite filet mignon which was possibly the best steak I've ever had- it practically melted in my mouth. It was cooked to perfection (medium) and the Bernaise butter was delicious as well. My husband had one of the pizzas (with basil) and it was also delicious. Best meal of our whole vacation and we ate at some fantastic places!"

"our filet was so tender you could slice it with the fork - it was great! the service and atmosphere was also good. Very nice local place to eat - it was very very busy, but we were able to make reservations the night before with no problem for a table for two. Drinks were very reasonably priced. Huge wine selection."

"I dined at Wise Guys on Thursday night with friends - the Beet Salad, Shrimp and Grits, and fried bread pudding were all wonderful. My friends raved about the short ribs. The food and fun were so good that, on the way out, I made a reservation for Saturday night to treat my husband for our 24th wedding anniversary. Megan Witte was our server for Saturday night and was a great help. She helped us choose the wine to pair with our heavenly Rack of Lamb and Filet Mignon. The evening was topped off with the bananas foster with chocolate hazelnut-filled crepes! Already looking for another reason to return to try some of the small plates."

"We tried Wise Guys because it is owned by the Serg Group. The décor at Wise Guys is unremarkable; just kind of dark and modern. The menu is interesting because it includes a large selection of small plates that you can share or cobble together into an eclectic meal. There is also a large selection of steaks and other grilled meats for regular sized meals. Our server, however, was not helpful in explaining the menu or in offering suggestions, nor did she check the table regularly. We tried the specials: The short ribs were in a heavy sauce that overwhelmed the beef; the pork chop was huge but not particularly special. In all, the experience was adequate but not as great as the other Serg Restaurants."

"We were staying at the Disney Vacation Club resort, and they recommended several restaurants with Wise Guys one of them. The restaurant impresses as soon as you walk in. Nice ambiance. Waiter was young, but he did well. The wine list is extensive. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and was melt in the mouth tender. The petite "Not so traditional Caesar salad" was a perfect starter. To end the meal we shared the Creme Brulet flight. Five small servings of different flavor Brulets. Oh My!! A flavor treat to share with a glass of good Port wine. Truly a memorable dining experience! We will be back."

"Had a business party of 5, selected Wise Guys for overall menu with available "vegetable friendly" feature. Right off the waiter denied them having any focus on vegetarian offerings, was a put off, though they ended up working something out for my one guest. We had a variety of food, some of the salads were interesting and innovative, got good reviews, steak seemed to be ok but feature wahoo fish dish was dry and if it weren't for not upsetting the conversation it would have been sent back as unacceptable. Prices on the high side, especially for what we were served. Wouldn't risk another experience here with all the other options on the island available."

"A typical mens lounge atmosphere with reds, blacks, mirrors, soft lighting and energy. Waiter was excellent. After a change in order by wife after I ordered one of her favorite by the glass wines, he delivered her first order. Subsequently he acknowledged his mistake and offered a second full glass of the correct order on his tab. Honesty pays. Steaks were perfection and salads as well. Dessert devine. Well done. After many years coming to HHI, this forst visit to Wiseguys will not be our last."

"Dined with some friends who frequent the island but had not been to Wise Guys. We were seated promptly and although we had a new waiter, he was quite efficient and knowledgeable even though he told us this was his second day.
All of us enjoyed the wine flights and shared the tapas plates. The Calamari and Shrimp was excellent. The Fried Chicken and Waffles seemed a bit sloppy and less attractive than in the past - primarily due to the flat and soft looking waffles. Short ribs as sliders and main plate were excellent - soft and tangy.

"I had previously visited in early March and had an outstanding meal. I was back in town entertaining customers and had high expectations. The meal we had was no where near the caliber of my previous visit and our waiter (Stephen) was unattentive. I actually had to get up and ask a different person on the waitstaff for steak knives after our meal was served. I won't be back."

"The first weekend of the busy season should really elicit more in the way of enthusiasm from the serving staff than the outright indifference we encountered. Food was OK, but this has the feel of a restauarant on the way down, rather than up. A shame."

"It was a notable experience. The service was outstanding. Our waitress knew the menu thoroughly and any questions we asked her about any of the dishes, she offered a detailed answer.
The calamari appetizer was out of this world and my husband ordered the salmon as his entree and I must say its one of the best I've had. My steak (Bistro sirloin) left a lot to be desired, unfortunately. Nevertheless the staff was very accommodating and kind.
Over all is a great experience. Lots of good wine and good food."

"The simple facts:
1. Waiter - Excellent, Sam was one of the best we have ever had.
2. Drinks - Had a Bloody Mary that I have never seen! Came with a shrimp and was magnificent! Could have been a meal in itself!
2. Food - Must order the small plates (shrimp and calamari was the best!)
3. Desert - Lava Cake was great!

"Overall it was good experience we had the lamb chops and the NY strip. Lamb chops were exceptional the steak did not have the rich dry aged beef flavor I was expecting. The vegetables were properly prepared Creamy Yukon potato, Crisp sauteed baby green beans, wilted baby spinach. We would definitely go back and taste some of there other offerings

"This is one of our favorite restaurants on the Island. The interior is sophisticated but comfortable and tables are nicely spaced. Service is superb and food is excellent. On our first visit we sat outside and the four of us ordered a variety of sliders and pizzettas, all of which were great. On our next two visits, we sat in the beautiful dining room in the back and ordered steaks and a few of their signature dishes and everyone was pleased with their selections, especially the braised boneless beef spare ribs. A word of caution to those making their reservations online -- the restaurant is always full. One night we arrived 20 minutes late and the hostess had just cancelled our reservation (but graciously seated us anyway.)"

"Take a Monday night off season in March on Hilton Head Island and ask a restaurant to prove to you it is all it is advertised to be. Well we asked WiseGuys to do just that. You know what, They did it with flying colors.
I love small plates. It is a great way to try an number of dishes and the four of us must have tried at least 10. All were excellent. They meal was paced just fine for conversation, while the restaurant was more then 50% full."

"Jennifer was our server and we found her to be helpful, knowledgable and professional without being pretentious. We loved the shrimp and calamari appetizer, it was absolutely delicious as well as the bottle of Pinot Noir we ordered. We found the young woman in the red dress walking around the restaurant jotting down notes of some sort to be a bit intrusive and misplaced in a very cool environment which changed the entire vibe. Overall, a very good experience."

"A refreshing change amidst the sea of mediocrity in Hilton Head Island. This was our second visit, our first being last New Year's Eve. We enjoyed it so much we decided it was worth trying out again to see if it really was a good restaurant or whether we had had too much to drink.
We ordered six small plates for four people and enjoyed the variety of taste sensations, wonderful presentation and innovative cooking. The desert menu was also worthwhile and the prices not too bad. Definitely moved up into my top three restaurants on the Island and we will be back."
