"Neta" means the fresh ingredients of sushi. Our restaurant brings you the best neta with unique preparations and warm service for a special dining experience.
"As a major sushi "fiend" I am very, very discerning. This is my very favorite place to go (though certainly not an every day option because it is pricey). The food is the freshest and most interesting; the service is the nicest and most attentive; the spotless open kitchen is fun to watch. I want to keep it a secret but I can't stop telling my friends how amazing Neta is."

"the food at neta is wonderful, but for us this was completely overshadowed by farcically over-attentive service. i requested water with no ice - before i could take a sip it was topped up - with ice. we had the $95 omakase menu - a number of times i hadn't finished chewing before my plate was whipped away. given that there are only a few bites to a plate on this menu, the experience was not one of savouring the food, but of being rushed through the menu. as a result the meal felt unsatisfactory and overpriced."

"We had the pleasure of sitting at the sushi bar, where you get to watch the masters at work. We did the $95 Omakase menu, and we enjoyed every selection made by the chef. At one point in the night, the chef kept coming over and handing us individual bites of sushi, we would devourer them, and then he'd come right back and give us another. This place is a lot of fun, and the food is terrific."

"The food is not authentic Japanese food if that's what you're looking for. It's more like Japanese food for people who want the 'Asian experience' and are not all that knowledgeable about what's actually considered Japanese."

"sorry that I have to disagree with all the people here, but the food was just "good". not "brilliant", not "out of this world" and definitely over priced. I am a person who would gladly spend a whole paycheck on a memorable meal, and I can definitely appreciate food as a form of art. unfortunately this one wasn't it and the size of the portions was ridiculously small. I felt like I was made fun of while sitting there at the end of the meal, hungry and broke..."

"A little disappointed in the atmosphere, expected a little more zen. Sushi was a little lackluster, rest of dishes were really tasty. OVerall, not a must."

"We had to wait 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, but it was worth the wait. The food was wonderful. Regarding the food: - Kampachi/cucumber/cilantro special was the highlight of the evening. Crisp, tart, refreshing, yet meaty. We ordered a second round, and contemplated a third. - Szechuan Spiced Salmon with crispy rice was umami-filled wonderful. - Lime & Yuzu Shaved Ice comes at you not as a finished product, but as a sequence of flavors: harsh tequila, then a few seconds later when the ice melts you get lime, then a slight hint of yuzu, and finally, well after you put the glass down, the salt hits you. Not sure if that was the intention."

"Omakaze was the right choice! The flavours escalated as the meal progressed. The highlight for us was the toro sushi and uni sushi. Those 2 sushi was enough to justify our visit from Australia!"

"The food was delicious but it didn't meet our expectations. The most expensive omakase was a disappointment. I'm not going to detail every dish b/c it's not Worth the time to write about. For those of you who eat a lot of Japanese food, esp. sushi, you won't experience or learn anything new. We just let there feeling like the chef must already be uninspired. When you tell your friends that the best part of the omakase at Neta is the peanut butter ice-cream, it's really a back handed compliment, although it was super. The staff, esp. our waiter was wonderful. The ambiance is low key which is great when you want to dine at a nice, relatively quiet place (we sat away from the bar area), but the music is awful."

"Had the Omakase, ("Chef's Choice"), and though pricey, it was a fabulous dining experience. The servers were knowledgable and added considerably to the dining experience."

"A fabulous meal! We'd wanted to eat here for a while, finally got a reservation and decided to order the chef's tasting menu. Each dish was wonderful, beautifully prepared and presented, amazing flavors, flawless ingredients. The cocktails were as artful as the food."

"great service-attentive staff. It seemed like we had 4 people keeping an eye on us. Masa at a reasonable price with some outstanding dishes. Duck Foie Gras, Uni Porridge and the Tuna collar a must."

"Outstanding and very creative. Sushi was super fresh and the quality of the rice is only matched by a limited number of top places in Tokyo. Chef was super friendly. Like Masa but affordable."

"Amazing experience! We were having the omakase and my fiancee initially mentioned that she was a bit apprehensive with having uni (sea urchin) because of a previous experience, but that she was open to trying a dish or two to give it another chance. The waiter said that he would adjust the menu accordingly, but after the first dish, she absolutely fell in love with it, and the menu continued on as normal. Neta has a very attentive staff with an immense attention to detail. Every employee (literally every chef, busboy, and server) was very interactive and responsive to our needs. Not to mention that the food was top quality!"

"The waiter tried a bit too hard to get us to buy a $55 bottle of beer... but after that, things improved. We opted for the $95 tasting menu which was, marginally, worth it. The first half was better, and more interesting, than the second half, which was a mix of sushi and sushi rolls. None of the cuts were generous, and it started to lose any vitality or interest, i.e. we could've ordered off the sushi menu if we had known. And then the dessert was (wait for it) peanut butter ice cream. Ick. Not sure who thought THAT might be a good idea, but it wasn't. Very small and tight, service was interruptive (re-filling your water glass after taking two sips, wisking everything away the SECOND you finish)... which makes it feel like they're rushing."

"I did the tasting menu, and enjoyed every single bite. Might go as far as to say this is the best meal I have ever had. The $95 menu was plenty of food and I left feeling pleasantly full. The peanut butter ice cream is unbelievable! A must. Sit at the bar, watching the open kitchen is a treat."

"This has been my 4th visit to Neta (I live in the neighborhood). The quality and consistency of the food here is spectacular. These guys take their craft seriously. I've had most of the high-end Omakase's in NYC and Neta is my hands down favorite."

"I was very disappointed in the food here. I did not think I received good value for what I paid. I think this restaurant is hyped above where the food performs. Although the service was lovely and the vibe was certainly there, I do not believe this place gives fair value."

"Was very disappointed with the dinner experience. Seemed like we got treated poorly based on we ordered ala carte and did not do the omakase. With the way overpriced drinks and the small portions of food (as expected) it certainly wasn't cheap so did not warrant the bad service. Server did not acknowledge that it was my wife's birthday, did not even offer us a dessert menu and hastily presented us with the check after asking if we were done with our entrees & sushi. Quality of seafood, presentation and flavor of dishes were all good to great so no complaints there."

"I ordered the $135 Omakase menu, same as the two customers sitting beside me. We started our meals at the same time. I thought we would be having essentially the same items. As it turns out, the two fellows beside me are regulars and were treated well by the chef. While my meal was good, it left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth and felt a bit short changed. I had probably 5 items without rice and then everything else was with rice, which filed me up quick. The two fellows beside me had at least a few more premium items than I did. What a bummer!"
